You should try the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC. It’s I believe $15 to get in and it’s huge about 500 acres

I spent time there on Spring Break and I still have the brochure. I was interested in how they built moats for all the predators to keep them a safe distance away. I just hope they don't accidentally fall in lol.

And ZOO Miami is on my schedule. I already did some (not much) American zoos
Mostly Europe in Belgium (my home country), The Netherlands, France, Germany and the UK

As someone who went to Zoo Miami, Their is a water pool for the tigers. It’s just that almost every animals enclosure is huge and he just showed a small portion of the exhibit.
