Lost Lanes: Beautiful road and gravel century ride in Somerset

Restrap and Albion Cycling's Winter Solstice Century Challenge. At the winter and summer solstice, there's a challenge to cycle 100 miles over the weekend closest to the solstice itself.
I decided to link two of Jack Thurston's Lost Lanes West routes together for my attempt of this challenge. It was a great day out, riding from sunrise to sunset. As with all of the Lost Lanes routes I've done so far, they've been fantastic well researched routes sticking to quiet back lanes and some mixed terrain.
The highlight of the ride had to be witnessing the murmuration of the starlings at Avalon Marsh! So lucky to have witnessed this!

Thanks Martin! It was a great ride. Loved the route and was pretty special seeing the sunrise and sunset in one day. Thanks again for the support on the video. Slowly getting there with the filming and editing side of things. Really enjoy it but does add a lot of time to a ride when doing it solo 😅

Thanks Ben! Glad you enjoyed it. Was a great day out. Hoping to work my way through those routes in my local area and show what they have to offer. Indeed the gorge is always great fun 😁. Need all the luggage just to carry my snacks 😅!
