What a fun idea! I'm going to mention this to our library. They already do a ton of fun things / clubs and this seems like something they'd do too. 😊

It really is a great event to bring the community together. I can’t wait to do it again next spring!

I saw your video on the bju literature. I was wondering how you schedule it. Do you schedule each reading a day to finish out the year.

During the summer, I look over the syllabus/lesson plans BJU suggests. First I cut out their writing assignments since we use IEW for writing. Then I look for times when they spread out discussion/work on a reading assignment over 2-4 days (it happens quite a bit!) and see if I feel those can be condensed down. Usually, I can condense their program down by about 4 weeks or more to allow us to fit in a novel study or two. This year the 10th grade book has more units than we are used to and we slowed down A LOT on the first poetry unit. Added to that, the novel study we did was Fellowship of the Ring and it took more time than I anticipated. Most likely we will skip the second poetry unit in BJU and wrap up on time with the final unit on drama.
