- I have a ton of small projects at that have been adding up so in todays videos I wanted to tackle some of the projects I’ve put on the back burner. Things like hanging pictures, making my own vanilla extract, trying some DIY blinds in a bedroom etc.
I’m also going to show you a super simple yet delicious summer dessert recipe.
Decluttering my home has made such a huge difference in my life, but getting these small projects done also makes a tremendous impact on me and my home.
I hope you enjoy todays video and inspires you to tackle some projects around your house.

I like these “little bit of everything” videos! I have a porcelain sink in my kitchen that I believe came with the house (built in 2020). This sink is so stained that it is mostly brown in the bottom. I ordered the pink stuff and I hope it works…I’ve tried everything! My daughter is having a party for July 4th and I’m going to make the cake (like you, I’ll buy the angel food cake pre-made). I am usually asked to bring rolls to family events because my cooking skills lack in just about every area 😂😂 but I think I can make this without any issue!
Some people swore by bar keepers friends.
Oh Stowie I hope it works for your sink too! They are beautiful but when they get the stains that won’t come out they are just an eye sore 🤦♀️
Oh I always get asked to bring the rolls too 😂😂😂 cooking is not my strength. You can totally make that cake and everyone will be so impressed with “cooking skills” 😍
@@analumel I tried Bar Keepers Friend but the stains remained. 😔 I only tried the liquid version as the powder version might scratch the sink.
@@stowie5790 another youtuber filled her sink with very hot water and bleach abd let soak fon an hour. I think maybe oxyclean if you don't like bleach. It's unfortunate when some things start showing their use. My floors are very dull and will need be refineshed.😥
Make a mixture of Dawn dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Smear it on the sink and LEAVE it for two hours. Scrub and repeat if necessary!
Jodi, girlfriend, I would watch you do anything and everything! Loved the new runner, the yummy recipe, and seeing you work your wonder woman skills hanging those blinds. You do you, and we will watch!

I gave you five stars. You did it Wonder Woman. I'm with you on the hanging pictures, I'm terrible at it. After I'm done I have more holes in the wall. I tried the 3m product but the seem to let go and the pictures fall.

I know the feeling. I fixed a lamp myself by replacing the socket and rewiring it. I was so proud of myself I felt like going around to the neighbors and asking them if they had a lamp that needed fixing!

I love miscellaneous tasks videos! Had one of those days recently. Such a sense of accomplishment to get all the little bits and bobs off the counter and where they really should be. The Amazon delivery was probably not a mistake. If you shop on Amazon a lot (which you do!) you shop a lot, you can sometimes get small freebies from a various places. They want you to review their product favourably. The hats look like a good idea for hiking etc. if you live in a place that's rather buggy in the summer.

Nice going! I call these my “anti-procrastination” list tasks. I keep a running list and try to tick off a couple per week on Thursdays. Love the rugs!! ❤️ ps No on the coat racks. They get overloaded and end up looking messy/clutter-y. Hugs, Em

I love both rugs! They definitely look great in both rooms. May I make one tiny suggestion? Since your guests use this garage door as the main entry, I’d relocate the trash can if possible. Just an idea!
I also have a “to do” list that I’m trying to get through before Christmas. Fingers crossed! 🙂
Under cabinet lights would be nice too.
The darker version will hide the dirt better. Both are very nice!

I havent exactly done the pudding thing, but we do what we call a pig picking cake. Just regular cake mix, but add a can of mandarin oranges. Then use the whole container of whipped cream, and use the pudding/pineapple/whipped cream mixture as frosting.

I have all stainless steel in my kitchen..I was all for it love the look..but cleaning it and keeping it clean is a pain...my grandson and his wife bought the stainless steel that's fingerprint proof..the newest kind out for their new house being built..I'm anxious to see it in their new kitchen.. keep both rugs for a change

I think the second runner is perfect for the garage entry. The darker color is better for it being high traffic and more dirt coming in.
I like the other one too. I was thinking use it for your foyer but you might need something bigger for that space.

May I suggest moving your trash can to the end of your counter, by the dishwasher? It may open that space up more and not be one of the first things you see when you walk in 😊 the new rugs look so fresh!
Thanks for the suggestion Cassidy. Moving the trash into the main area of the kitchen would be a constant eye sore to me. That’s really the only place that’s out of the main area but still accessible 😊
You could use press n stick tile on your counter tops. I have seen that done before

Extract will last indefinitely when stored in a cool dark place. Love the OMG decor. Such a sweet and thoughtful gift from your painter. :)
Edit: I really like the look of the first rug, the blue is very pretty.

I saw coconut whipped cream in can the other day. A Caribbean version of Redi-Whip. It would make this dessert more of a pina colada cake. Would probably still be fine with the strawberries on top.

Jodi I bought the cheaper paper blinds that stick like those at Walmart for 8$. They are very good quality for the money. I measured and cut with scissors. They have clips that you use to hold them up. More manual but easy and cheap. We got the black ones to use with our blinds for blackout to sleep later. When raised you never know there there.

Absolutely love this video! We installed new windows in both of the bathrooms. We had never done it before, but it turned out so good. I was so proud! Next up will be our kitchen window. I tried the organized mum method that you shared and I really like it. I fell off the wagon, as well the last few weeks. I definitely felt like it made a difference, so I am going to try and get back on track with that.

I make this dessert but I use the fruit cocktail mix! My family loves it. But I don't use the cake either. But I will have to try this also! Thank you for the recipe!!

I love your rugs. I am happy to see you doing something for yourself! Your sign is my motto. Just a hint for you. Start keeping a gratitude journal. Write two or three things every night that you are grateful for! Every night! It works miracles. Tonight I will write in mine that I am grateful for you!thank you for your real life posts. One more thing.I love lists to the point I add things to my list that I accidentally do just so I can mark them off! Always have, always will!
I make a salad that is similar to that I use pistachio pudding so it ends up to be green and I also use a large can of crushed pineapple and then I use one of the smaller cans of management oranges and also cool whip and then mini marshmallows and I try to get the colored kinds that has a a few different colors in there to be more fancy but yeah it’s easy I’d let it sit in the fridge for about 10 minutes before I add the Cool Whip and marshmallows that’s just what my recipe says but yeah it’s good and it’s it is sweet though.
I don’t layer it with angel food cake but I really like that it’s very fancy and very pretty
Yes that’s a different dessert that’s so yummy. My mother in law used to make it for holidays and I haven’t had it in so long now.
Small projects make great videos. The rug is not too long. Looks like the basket with all the paperwork in it on the kitchen counter would be another small project to add to your list 😃

Vanilla yes. I have made some with Captain Morgans rum and with vodka. They're great for different flavorings.

Kitchen sink,, I love cast iron porcelain farmers sink with cast drains on either side.

I do love my cast iron sink. Only thing I don’t like is they rust 🤦♀️
Mine is so old and there is rust around the edges of the sink but the worst is underneath the sink.
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 that sink can be removed, sandblasted to remove the rust, repainted with porcelain paint and replaced again . If you want to or you could ...like on iron skillet clean the underside with stainless steel chain link ( they have them for cleaning iron skillets and such... mine has a tag with a red background and K on it)...IF you're willing to do that much work. If you do I suggest you get an iron sealing sealant and coat it with it when you're done.

OMG this was such a great video...loved it! I had to laugh when you were making fresh vanilla extract because...my husband thought it would be great one year to make flavored vodka for his friends for gifts. Yep, great idea...we cut up the fresh fruit and placed it in vodka bottles and let it set for I don't know how long. Before gifting you should remove the fruit since it does not look the best...well he was eating the fruit since it smelled so good. That man was out - I mean slurring his words out after about 30 minutes. I had to help him walk to bed since he couldn't. We didn't realize until afterwards that the fruit was 100% alcohol...OMG talk about a good laugh! So if you ever decide to make flavored vodka...DON'T eat the fruit!

I am learning how to garden. I guess that is my DIY. I am wanting to learn to make bread/ pizza dough/ pasta. I haven’t gotten a chance and gotten the courage to try.

I know what you mean about cleaning. After trying lots of systems I made 4 areas to deep clean once a month. It's working great after a year. My areas are 1) kitchen 2) bathroom/closets 3) living/dining 4) patio/basement. I don't deep clean the whole area each month. If the front closet is a mess I do it if the refrigerator needs some lovin' I do that. Just knowing that it's on the schedule I know I will get to it. Mostly you need to give yourself grace. Your kids keep you running and your a busy gal. Love both of the rugs.
