This is my first and current bike. It feels like the perfect starter bike. Quite forgiving, not stupidly quick, but fast enough to lose your licence easily. Nice seating position, comfy seat, good on petrol. I've only made one mod, which was changing the front sprocket. Just added a single tooth and it smooths out the snatchy feeling in 1st gear and reduces the RPM a little bit at motorway speed.
I have the same bike but in black. It is the most reliable bike in my garage. It hits 140 mph and is butter smooth. Easy around town. Good for long trips. Great gas mileage. I jump on it before my Harley or R6!
@Chris Bardas if you stay out of the throttle and drive it normally, you'll get well over 40 mpg. With the fuel tank being nearly 5 gallons you can get 200 miles a tank.
I've had one of these since 2010. It's a 2008 model. I love it. Most reliable machine that I've ever owned! Only problem now is the water pump seals have failed at 82,000km. You'd expect that from a 13 year old bike! You've been lucky with the battery. I've had to replace mine twice. Cheers
A honest and equilibrated comment - thank you. This is my current motorcycle (since 2008) and it never failed. I agree with the data you said (consumption, etc). I whish it would be less heavy. And FYI there is a GIVI screen, higher, that doesn't need that hugly extensor. Bye PS: your english is very clear!, I'm spaniard and I understand easily everything you said.
Ahhh.. the "bazooka" exhaust. Looks like a cannon and sounds like someone trying to let out a fart without anyone noticing. I replaced my exhaust with a Leo Vince LV One. It sounds great and it's EC marked so no issues with the police in EU (except for those over-zealous Germans). As for the tires I went for the Michelin Road 5. No regrets about this bike.
lol. I had a GSX 650 FA from 2011 too. The consumption is way more than 5 Liters if you drive a little faster :D 6,1L/100km. It is the average value of appr. 21000km with ARAL SuperPlus and OMV MaxxMotion Plus. And riding the bike with passenger it is not anymore agile.
Good bike but I prefer bandit Carbureted. Still Suzuki has the pipes coils in its injection motors. The cost for each one is €180 each of the 4 pipes They have to be changed every 100,000km
Hello, may I ask you a question about the central stand? Have you attached it to your Suzuki or was it already a part of it? I can see that many of these motorbikes are without a central stand.
Hi ! I have the same model, just in black and '08 year, with around 84 K at this moment. Can you please confirm which gear do you use when riding 90-100 km/h? I can get 4.5% fuel consumption, but can't get 4, as you mentioned. Thanks !

Whats the RPM by 100km/h by 1 tooth more in the Front?
An excellent review by an owner who has proper experience of the machine he is reviewing.. Thank you.

@Chris Bardas yes it is. That should be about 7 liters per 100 km, I think.
Thanks for the simple informative and straight to the point review. Your voice is also easy to listen to.

Around 90-100 km/h it's always in the 6th gear.
Have you got the Product Details of the small windshield, looks like a good idea.
Thank you !
May I ask how tall are You?
I'm 178 cm tall.
Suzuki fits all models with that ugly pipe...even today...I dont know why...
So true...
Suzuki got a deal on them
damn u made it so tasty to me :DD
