  • Come check out our brand new Torqeedo Travel XP that we opened for the first time and mounted on our Tiny Pontoon Boats 6x11 mini pontoon boat. This IS the electric outboard motor that we've been waiting for and it's great!
Please be sure to check TinyPontoonBoats.com for full details.
    NOTE:
We did it in our video, but Torqeedo states that their current family of Travel motors is not intended to stay attached to the transom while trailering. If using any of the Torqeedo Travel motors, be sure to remove them from your transom when traveling over the road. Failure to do so could be dangerous and/or void your warranty.

did you have specific watt for sweet spot speed to use all day for 4-5 knot or more like epropulsion spirit evo people tend use about half throttle or less for 4 knots. is the motor new design or same as old travel 1103,903 model?

What is the speed difference between the electric and the 6hp gasoline? I would like to try the torqeedo on my light inflatable boat to check the difference with the e-propulsion 1.0, with it it reaches 5.8 knts
    Gracias.

The 6 HP Tohatsu motor pushed our little pontoon boat about the same speed (no more than 0.5 kts quicker) with only the captain on the boat. It was 1 HP more, but it required the fuel tank that added about 35 pounds to the boat when full. The speed rating we got in our video was with two people and we think that it's quick enough for our application. Your boat will have a more efficient, smooth, single-piece hull, so your boat would be a little faster with this motor. It's really hard to judge what the actual top speed would be without a physical test. I will say that the ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 motor has received very good reviews and is a good motor, but the Travel XP, being a 5 HP, will give you more oomph and we like that the battery doesn't have a cable that has to be connected. For our money, we're super happy with this motor. Torqeedo does make a 3 HP version for a little less though.

What is the warranty on these? I cannot seem to find it on Torqeedo's website. I once read that the Travel series was up to 5 or 7 years. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
