When food gets low I make stuffed corn bread. I use 3 boxes of jiffy mix and prepare it like usual, I cook ground beef and add some tomato sauce to it. Then I lay some of the corn bread mix in a pan, add the meat sauce , a layer of cheese, then pour the rest of the corn bread on top and bake it. It’s so good and filling!
@@_smartyshorts That sounds so good!! I am making that recipe soon! Thank you for sharing it! ☺️💛
Sounds like something I could downsize for a single little old lady (me). Thank you!
Thank you for doing the leg work. Lots of great ideas!! Walmart appears to be a Preppers paradise.
@@jwhitty14 No problem! I’m happy to do so! ☺️ Agreed - it’s a great place for preppers!!
Martha White’s has been a family favorite for all of my 60 years!!
just caught jiffy cornbread mix for .50 a box...got me 8 boxes 😊
i like those soup packets...kinda like a cup o soup, but taste way better 😋
i use those knorrs sides to make a full Meal
those ramen turn into a great soup or stir-fry ❤
I love how you incorporate all of these! Thank you so much for sharing! ☺️💛✨
If tough times, survival food is just that 'survival'. Our generations have yet to face such dire times as a Nation, but it would be wise to be ready. Your page is a great place for all newcomers to 'Homesteading' for being so relatable to the every day person.
@@bpsitrep Thank you! I appreciate that ☺️
I always enjoy your energy and positivity! Factual and encouraging!!
I add about 2 heaping table spoons of diced jalapeños (with the liquid) to one box of the regular Jiffy cornbread mix. Try it. The little bit of extra liquid doesn't effect it at all.
Ohhh, that sounds delicious!! Wow - I’m going to try that next time! ☺️ Thank you!!
Indeed - it’s a great addition. I also add a drained can of corn. 👍🏻
I love prepping
@@maricelaandsammyshauls894 Same!! ☺️💛
Love your videos thanks ❤😊
My Walmart here in Arizona marked down all the basic Great Value spices to $1. So garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, basil, parsley, italian seasoning, etc.
@@RadianceRush Oh that’s good!!
All right 🎉
Thank you, there’s items I buy that’s more expensive at Kroger. Just a few cents but wow. I will head to Walmart today before Kroger. Thanks for the video
You are very welcome! ☺
Thanks for sharing this really appreciate you 😊👍 and God bless you and your family 💗🙏🙏🙏
@@leynetthudson7518 I’m so happy to share!! Thank you and God bless you and yours as well!! ☺️🙏🏽💛✨
Dollar Tree has 16 ounce bottles of vegetable oil. I buy one of them and then a gallon from Walmart and refill the small bottle.
That’s a great way to do it! Thank you for sharing that tip! ☺️💛
Thanks for sharing.🌻
My pleasure! ☺️💛
Great video! Thank you!
@@RadianceRush Glad that you enjoyed it! ☺️
Gen X here. I can remember when many of the items shown were 4 for a dollar or 50 cents each.
Enough of the internet for today lol
Wow! I wish it were still those prices. I’m Gen Y and also remember when things were just a fraction of where they are today!
Kids like the Martha white muffins, just enough for breakfast. 13 year old makes voluntarily.
@@teamshoemaker Good to know! Thank you 💛✨
I like to add extra fresh fruit to them like blueberries!! Absolutely delicious
Tons of breadcrumbs if you use a food processor and a couple dry heels.
@@teamshoemaker 😅
I noticed in Australia there is hardly anything to find for under 1 $ in local supermarkets. Exept a fruit / 1 banana or 1 apple or so.
@@swissherbgirl2917 Thank you for sharing that. I’ve heard about the higher prices there. Good thing that wages are generally higher than the US though!
To me, the Martha White fruit muffin is no better than the Jiffy mix. Save a little bit by going the Jiffy route.
@@sweetypuss5955 Will do! Thank you! ☺️💛
♥️
If you make bread can I get your bread receipt
Folks…remember brown rice does not store well long term. So use it first!!
Tell me why Walmart spices need additives!. I won’t buy them, I want just the spice, nothing else.
@@yarnprepper I hate additives as well. Have you tried dehydrating your own spices?
@@ahomesteadjourney I grow a lot of food but since my space is limited I don’t waste real estate on spices so no. I just buy organic pure spices when I can. At the very least I read labels. I had good luck buying glass jars at Sam’s.
I was excited to find some brand name spice blends at my Dollar Tree today, but a look at the ingredients showed that they contained SOY GRITS! I don't even know what that is! I left them there.
@@jenharrell65 yup! We gotta be careful!
I was by my cousins house last year, and I had been cooking and started feeling horribly. Those spices were the only things that I’ve never used. I bought her some new spices and told her to throw the Walmart brand away! I don’t trust any of their good value brand foods. Any company that takes out life insurance policies on their employees and collects money upon their death, I’m not eating from them! They’re very few things I’d buy from there. Food items are not on the list.
When you can buy panties for a dollar a pair, stock up.
Thanks for the tip!
Great video!! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! 💛✨
