Discovering Roll20 was the best thing to come out of Covid restrictions. Not only did we keep our gaming sessions going remotely, but it’s been so successful that Roll20 is now our preferred gaming format. And all for free! 👏
@@bryceblazegamingyt9741 - hi, we don’t play any games that need or use any Roll20 Compendiums, but from what I understand i thought you can still play without buying any of those anyway?
i think the biggest change i'd make to this system is being able to build characters without joining/creating a game, would make it easier to have characters ready for when you join a game and make it easier to roll up backup characters incase of a death another change i might make, add an initial gear portion to the charactermancer, it's a great tool but the basic steps it goes through still leaves you with a fairly incomplete character as i came to find out in my first game
been wanting to play for awhile but don't know anyone who plays and its overwhelming. any tips that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. thank you
My sons and I live in different states, would roll20 be a good option for us to start playing dnd? I played in my teens, but starting from scatch again. Thanks ahead for any guidance.
If i hit launch game, it doesnt start the game for everyone or mess up anything? I want to prep for the game but it's not game time yet and I don't want to mess with anything I'm not meant to
is there a paywall to play on Roll20? for example, if i want to play D&D5e and play an Artificer, do i need to pay anything for the 'advanced rules' of Tasha's Cauldron?
Hello just to ask, is there a way where i can select one or multiple tokens which the tokens show the character model, but shows their face portraits when being select like a RTS unit panel (Like warcraft 2). I am quite new in Roll-20!
I’m new to DND. Anyone want to run a game with me this weekend and help me out? I’d really appreciate it I’m a total NOOB tbh and the only thing I’ve done so far is make my RP Character
So am I able to play a full game on my mobile phone with this? I'd love to be able to if not as I'm mostly bedbound so pc / laptop isn't always an option
The only people still using roll20 are the ones that spent $ on digital books. There are way to many other platforms that are user friendly for knoobs.
Hi there! All unassigned (meaning no character sheet connected to them) tokens - whether purchased or free, can be found in your Art Library on the VTT. More tokens are available on the Marketplace and can be found in Modules, Addons, or Art Packs (be sure to check the item's description to make sure they include tokens). You can also keep an eye out for special events - such as Roll20Con or Roll20 sponsored charity events - that give away Token Sets!
My friends started a campaign and I’m hoping that I can convince him to make it in this because normally online with no software is annoying
Awesome. Let us know how it goes!

These are really kind words and we're very happy you took the time to let us know. We're so glad we could help!
How do you use it for free? The site just keeps telling me to buy a compendium.

you can make a character without joining a game. I just started and have only my 1 character created so far
You got your wish! We released Roll20 Characters last year, which gives you the power to do exactly that: app.roll20.net/characters/
As a new GM, this was reccomended to me by my old GM... now player. It looks amazing
Ok here we go my journey into the best thing to ever be created i can't wait thanks Roll20
You're gunna be great! Good luck!
Wow it looks so well made! This looks so useful for storing everything about the game!
I love it since the pandemia pushed me there, I enjoy a new style of Pan & Paper, also with friends far away from me!
This might make playing possible since my friends and I are now grown and can't gather nearly as easily.
nice tutorial :D
How do you erase the mona lisa you drew on the map before the session;-;
So you have to buy all the books and add on stuff AGAIN, digitally, just to access spell, item, character info?
Yes unfortunately. But I believe they are much cheaper.
I am a beginner and never played. Was wondering which system to start on. And which one is better for beginners.
been wanting to play for awhile but don't know anyone who plays and its overwhelming. any tips that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Hey Roll20, any info on the new Rest buttons on your character sheet?
Have you think to create a spanish version if you got more support?

Yes! My GM lives three time zones away. We start playing at 8pm and he starts at 5pm.

Where do I find those tokens? I like the images but I can't find them

Yes or put everything included in the class by hand
It's a lot harder to use on mobile but it's all I have
Thank you!!!

Laptop is perfect for bedbound lol. If you can use a phone in bed, you can use a laptop.

Has Roll20 ever thought about doing the same quality video in French?
Only if I had friends

And you didn't name even one...
This still doesn't explain how to acquire tokens. Can't start a campaign without that explanation.
