Iron Palm or Iron Hand (Chinese: 铁掌功) is a body of training techniques in various Chinese martial arts. It is originally one of the 72 arts of the Shaolin temple. These conditioning techniques are typically meant to condition the hands to allow a practitioner to deliver very powerful blows without injury to his or her hands.
Iron Palm is slang for internal palm covering many different conditioning methods. Iron Palm systems are considered internal. Martial artists who practice Iron Palm training are not unified in their training and techniques. Some teachers treat their Iron Palm methodology as a valuable secret, and only share their specific techniques, training methods, and herbal remedies with a select few.
Not all Iron Palm types are not a martial arts style unto itself, but a type of neigong and heigong conditioning featured in many schools of Chinese martial arts. Some non-Chinese martial arts styles, such as Muay Thai and many schools of Karate, also feature hand conditioning; however, the term "Iron Palm" is not normally used to describe these types of training as they do not develop internal power.

It is important that you rub your hands with dit-ta jow (hard hands liniment before and after doing your training. This makes the deeper layers of your skin strong and hard while keeping the upper layer soft. This is different than the hand training in karate where heavy callouses are developed. You will notice that the hand doesn't bounce when it hits the bag. BTW if you can get a canvas bag filled with iron filings it helps to develop the hand better. To get iron filings go to a machine shop or auto brake shop and ask them for it. But sand is just fine if you can't get the iron filings. To you in strength (internal and external).

Never seen this very interesting! Been boxing for years without wraps and even condition my knuckles, wrist and joints by punching the bag near knuckle. The only problem doing so is if you don’t throw perfect punches you hurt yourself. I will tell you this when o train w h a coach I always put on wraps to do mitts with any coach.

nice video, this type of training will help strengthen the muscles and bones of your forearms and wrist/hands ect.. after doing this type of training I've notice my grip strength has improved and my punches are able to withstand more impact without injury to myself. I've also have been able to break boards that I've never thought i could do. just be careful with this training it takes patience if you rush it you will get injured.

The 1st few weeks was difficult doing it everyother day. Try doing it everyday the correct way and you will have a hard time trying to hold your Wang while you pee. Lol

25 years practicing and yes unless you use a.tinic like dit da jow or something close. Not tiger balm or icy hot or capsaicin. It should.be a. Traditional how. In Wing Chun we say the jow is for the other guy we he gets beat up. But fuck with your hands for a while. Watch how quick they get stiff or damaged.

Internal means that rather than muscular strength, so-called internal energy is used to produce force. External is what we are used to seeing in Shaolin and other martial arts like Karate where muscles are pushed or pulled hard to produce impact. If you train like this every day for 3 years you will have good forearms and nothing else :D if you overdo it on the other side
    You will break your hands

actually it does work idk where you got your bullshit facts but you are wrong. just because you think it doesn't work then that's your opinion and yours alone. I'm pretty sure all you did was watch the video and just make up shit.

Greek Physique well then you have alot of learning to do. But I seen your tag about being 15 years old boy that wants to transform his body. Keep at it bro. I did and I'm extremely happy I stuck with it. Don't ever give up but don't push yourself to the limit. You will only damage your body and you won't gain muscle. Good luck to you bro.
