I use a Hovel plane sharpener to do heavy rehabilitation on a pencil, and a Raffine abrasive sharpener. The Hovel is safer than a free blade, and cleaner. The Raffine has all the benefits of a sanding block, but is reusable and you clip it to your clip board or sketchbook. The pencil extenders are awesome, but I found that some brands of pencils have different enough diameters to affect the extender’s grip. Informative video! Thank you for sharing!

could i use pan pastel on first layer then faber caster pit on second layer ? for the hair i am using canson pastel paper and its not sticking
Yes pan pastel works beautifully for the base layer with faber castell pitt on top. Try the pastelmat paper, it has wonderful grip.
