    I didn’t get my kick stand completely down one time and it held the bike for a few seconds then suddenly was resting on the crash bars...no biggie

      Its amazing how much time it can seem like as the bike goes over. Crash bars are a really great thing, I'm glad my bike has the crash bars for the hard panniers aswell.

    My mate once pulled his CX500 Honda up to a petrol bowzer and just got off and walked away from the bike without putting the stand down. Was amusing and distressing all at once.

    Kill switch is fine to use mate. Do you not use your blinkers cause you might wear out the contacts no. The kill switch wires are no different from any other contacts on the bike. Been a motorcycle mechanic for over 40 years never had a problem using the kill switch on any of my many many bikes. Yes I have had to repair a couple of kill switches over the years but in most cases they broke because they were never used for many years then the owners used it once and it broke. Not using it for so long the contacts and springs in the switch lock up and if you move it they can break inside. But generally they never fail. Also a good cheap fast way to give ya bike a shine is after washing it let it dry and hit it with good old Mr sheen good on all the surfaces spray on wipe off looks like new plus it leaves a protective wax film on it even the chrome loves it. Used it on all my bikes.

      I hve never actually thought about it like that before. I have never had an indicator switch fail on me, and they get used alot more than the killswitch does, not that I've ever had one of those fail yet. Cheers.

    I hate that you guys had to go back into lockdown. Best part of riding in nyc is that your helmet acts as your mask and you don't have to take public transit! Woohooo!

    • @BigRobMoto
      @BigRobMoto  3 года назад

      +Morghan Parker it was a quick lock down which is thankfully over. I always leave my helmet on when I go into service stations after getting fuel. I figure the helmet is a pretty good mask 🤘

      +Scotty_2wheels 3am sounds like a bad time to drop a bike, it also sounds like a bad way to wake up 🤣

    My bike is keyless. It still has a kill switch, I got caught out when a mechanic used it and I usually don't. That was a little embarrassing. 🤣 where do you get an ice ball maker from for your whiskey, I'd like one.

    • @BigRobMoto
      @BigRobMoto  3 года назад +1

      +Guvna 947 It's always weird when someone else has been kn your bike and left it bot quite the same as we normally do, a mate rode my bike and left it in gear, I thought I had a dead bike 🤣
      The ice molds came from good old K-Mart nice and cheap, but I don't think they have them. Target have some that are a little smaller but still good for a glass or two of whiskey. search "ice ball mould" on the target website 🤘

    I quit using the kill switch after the same video. lol. Ok, my dumb story. I had not owned a bike for a few years, so I bought my current bike. Day two on it, I pulled into the gas station, staid sitting on the bike, and started responding to texts. Well, I spent enough time doing that that I forgot to put the kickstand down at all. Yeah, I know. So, I step off the bike, it falls on my calf and lays me out on the concrete. I felt like an idiot (because I was), laughed, picked up the bike, and looked around. No one saw me. What are the chances? Doesn't matter anyway, since I tell everyone the story. lol

    • @BigRobMoto
      @BigRobMoto  3 года назад +1

      +History Road haha good to know I'm not the only one stupid enough to make dumb little moves. absolutely no one saw my drop, but telling the story is fun 🤘I'm glad you weren't hurt. a bike falling on your calf sounds painful.

      I watched it and immediately turned to Parker and said "I don't agree with that". I get what they're saying, but my bike is 17 years old and I've used the kill switch every time I ride with no problems. Same with all the other bikes I've ever owned.

    • @BigRobMoto
      @BigRobMoto  3 года назад +1

      +Whiskey Chaser I have never had an issue with my kill switch in the past, but I figured I'd give it a go doing that, but I'll stick with my usual habits and use the switch.

    • @joshhuddly

      @@BigRobMoto Yep. I just can't get used to the key, so kill switch it is. If it goes bad, I will replace it, I guess,
