I bought this whip from you. I was looking up videos on how to make one and after watching this video I checked out your links and what do you know, the whip I watched you make was for sale, I think it was your last whip for sale. It is holding strong and still gets some love. Sorry for the late comment but I was just looking at this whip and I didn't know if this video was still up. I wish you the best and thank you for not only making this whip, but selling it. This is the only thing I have purchased I can watch being made
Sorry if I missed this in the video, but what's the finished length of this whip? Edit: It also looks like the total length of paracord used is never disclosed, and the whole handle finishing process is skipped over. Any good resources for those?
Hey man what are all the measure ments for the over lay we are currently making two of theses but we can't finish them because we are not sure about the measurements
He said for his English eye, he started it with 2 15ft strands and the most likely plait all the way to the handle as if you were plaiting from the handle. So I would just cut all my strands the same measurements
Verry nice compared to other videos i have watched, way cheaper for n old ish pensioner, Well done! suubbed n hi from outback south australia...tempted to grab a hit n run kangaroo n skin it but i doubt i could lift a red especially..prices are stupid for a hide and more crazy for a cow,but people want the world for a few hours now a days..not saying its easy depending on how the hide is treated some are definatly worth the cash.Peace mate
I know you made this years ago, but I wanted to let you know - I took careful notes and worked out the measurements and the materials... Watched your "English Eye" vid, and a Nicks Whip Shop twisted fall vid, and your waxing a whip vid and built one of these This was literally my first ever attempt to do anything beyond a 4 plat braid (and I had only done that once before) I made a LOT of errors for sure - I used 2 colors (red and black)and a different color core (blue) so I could better track things.. it also REALLY shows my platting errors. I made the mistake of failing to measure out the add strand points so I "winged it" - I miscalculated slightly and so I ended up at 12 plat a bit early - so I just added 2 more strands Its a bight light and "whippy" (imagine that) but I haven't yet waxed it - I really think that's going to make it really work. I'm pretty sure I will be doing another one and taking all I learned and doing a better job. Still, even with my errors and some slight kinky bits, I was able to easily fire off figure8 and volley and get nice reports. (couldn't play much as it is like 8pm here and I don't want to annoy the neighbors) but THANK YOU, I love this style/length of whip and holy crap I made it myself and it worked! I had to watch closely and rewind and rewatch and pause a bit but everything I needed was there.
Based on my watching and taking notes it seems that its 3.5' PLUS a bit for the attachment - say another inch or inch and a half for the "sock" part over the rod?
Another question: what are your thoughts on using trampoline bed material as a bolster? I’ve considered the idea, using it in function similar to a leather bolster. It’s polypropylene, strong and springy, and a screen mesh to allow wax to pass through. See you next July, too. Great video as always
Chiiin Thanos - I've never tried it, but don't let that stop you. That sounds like a good idea, but the only thing I would say is that the material may be too thick. But I don't know.
Based on my poking and starting to follow this I think they're .177 cal? (standard BBs) and he used Copper jacketed instead of zinc probably due to how much better copper gets its patina?
Has anyone ever tried to use pellets instead of beebees? The pellets have a coned bottom and a rounded top, in my mind it would work like a ball joint haha but I've never built a whip and just got my first one from amazon a few weeks ago, the red mark behind my ear is healing, thanks for asking.
Ok I see others asking. but the answer you give is not what I am looking for. You have 2 x 10 ft pieces and 1 x 6.5 piece. when you are starting to plait it looks as if there are just the 2 10 footers glued to the bar. In the center so I assume there are two 5 foot lengths hanging on each side. now my question is how did you incorporate the 6.5 foot length? and I understand that it is staggered 6" But where does it start???
They are asking what I am, as well. When beginning the very first plaiting, it looks as though there's just 2 strands. Is the 6.5 BELOW one ten footer?
I don't get the plat part at all it's not explained which one you grabbing to start with or anything that helps getting it started. I'm a noob granted but dang been trying for over an hr in now n there no videos out there that do it like this. Idk thanks for any feed back
Is there a particular reason for your use of copper bbs? I use zinc galvanized steel bbs, mostly due to a bad habit of spilling them. I wear a magnetic ring, and it’s been surprisingly useful
Stephen Medianero - The two longest strands are 15 feet, but since this is an English I and you have to add strands instead of dropping them, you'll have to figure where the best place to add them.
It’s funny how people ask questions that are literals in the video 😂 but, when you have the 7th strand inside the core and running a 6plait, when you bump up to 8and pull that core strand out and add the 8th... that part is pretty vague. And also, you didn’t show the measurement where you added the core to the English eye
love your applications on whip making , the only thing I don't understand why when you are explaining them you have to whisper, but when your just talking you speak normal, some of us older folks are a little hard of hearing.........................Just Saying
Listening to your voice with that dreadful, annoying, and horribly intrusive 'music' noise endlessly repeating in the background made this video unwatchable for me. Had to give you a dislike for what would probably have been a good video otherwise. Why on earth would you include such an irritating, distracting, and jangling noise to detract from a viewer's ability to hear you properly and concentrate on what you are saying?
Buy some high quality Kevlar crackers here: www.ebay.com/usr/caliberwhips/
That’s actually 100 times cooler than a full sized.
Bravo, I finally found a use for all the paracord I bought

Insane video!!!! Made my best whip so far by using this. Thank you very much
Excellent video. I appreciate your sharing the art of whipmaking.
You can buy whips on his website to support his art .
dichromanjd - Your welcome.
Great video really helped me with designing my own. Thank you so much

Wow,tai chi master ma baogua’s lightning whip
Do you have any of these whips for sale currently?
When putting the cord on the end of the steel rod, how long is that strand of paracord??
Based on my watching and taking notes it seems that its 3.5' PLUS a bit for the attachment - say another inch or inch and a half for the "sock" part over the rod?
We use that fibre glass tape on our cricket bats in Aus so we don’t have to spend 20+ hours knocking them in with a special knocking in mallet
Can you please give me a lists of all the Materials not the tools but the materials thank you awesome video by the way 👏🤍
Are the Paracord guts taken out and where is the 6.5 ?
Very nice looking

6mm bb? What is the diameter for the rope? 6mm as well?
Is there a particular reason this is a two belly whip (core + overlay) instead of 3 belly? or am I watching and misunderstanding?
Two belly whips are just faster to make.
If you use a fork tines are slightly smaller than the BB's way easier to slide the BB's without hurting the end of your finger
How long do you drop the first strand
How big are the BBs you are using for this whip??
Based on my poking and starting to follow this I think they're .177 cal? (standard BBs) and he used Copper jacketed instead of zinc probably due to how much better copper gets its patina?
How long is the total whip here? How long was the core strand?
3.5' for both the core strand and the thong
What about using pellets..since they are a little heavier then bbs? Would that be a good or bad idea?
Yeah, it should be fine
I want to buy one of these from you,but can't get to where I buy one
What is the price on one off them lighting whips
Hi caliber whips I’m wondering what are the size of all of the cord you used?
550 and 275 paracord
can I make whip out of paracord that still cracks loud but does not have BB's?
What’s function of bb?
I made a paracord nylon bullwhip without bb that cracks. Unfortunately it not as smooth as video when I swing my whip.
@@stanleykokcheeboon8398 the function of the bbs is to make it crack smoother and give the whip more weight
wait, are the 2 10 footers glued one on top of the other?? with the 6.5 footer in front of that??
Robert Nelson - No, one is threaded through the other.
@@caliberwhips9595 AHH, so it's just like the English Eye - glad he asked all those years ago as I'm making my notes and about to try making this.
Can i use ball chain instead of bb s?
Has anyone ever tried to use pellets instead of beebees? The pellets have a coned bottom and a rounded top, in my mind it would work like a ball joint haha but I've never built a whip and just got my first one from amazon a few weeks ago, the red mark behind my ear is healing, thanks for asking.

Its been a while since i made a whip. any suggestions for removing dust from the wax in my turkey roaster?
I believe I have a short video on that on my sandbox channel.
@@caliberwhips9595 ill check it out. I love your videos keep it up brother!
When you were wrapping the handle where was the 6.5 foot cord because I only saw the two ten foot ones
Blackhawk 19 - You can see me singeing it off.
They are asking what I am, as well. When beginning the very first plaiting, it looks as though there's just 2 strands. Is the 6.5 BELOW one ten footer?
I think the 10’s are staked and the 6.5’ is in front thats what im trying i will let everyone know once I finish mine
he. i only ever made an adam winrich instant bullwhip. would you recommend this whip for a novice whipmaker?
Nice Whip
How much paracord do you use of each color. Because I was wondering if a 100 ft hank would be enoguh
Blackhawk 19 - A 100ft hank should be enough for one whip.
@@caliberwhips9595 thank you!
Love the video. Thanks for putting it together. Where to you get your spring steel rod? I have had a heck of a time locating that material.
prracz you can just use steel rod from a hardware store
prracz I use rods that have about 1 inch of threaded section that my brother makes for me so I can just lace the cord over the rod
He just like became Bob ross while platting the fall
I wish you would come out of retirement dude because I would love to buy one of these
Look at his latest video. It's depressing
Hi, Alex. I make these whips for sale. Barbwire Whips.
@@bbsan49 is that right ? Do you have any vids ?
Do all Paracord whip makers on YT have that Bob Ross Quality? XD
Has anyone ever built a whip with electric chord cable core?
As a complete novice could someone please tell me if all the paracord is gutted
Yep, they always gut the paracord.
Hey is it okay to use senew to bind
What kind of thread did you use
Blackhawk 19 - Just bonded nylon thread. I believe it's number is in the 90s.
I don't get the plat part at all it's not explained which one you grabbing to start with or anything that helps getting it started. I'm a noob granted but dang been trying for over an hr in now n there no videos out there that do it like this. Idk thanks for any feed back
Could I use duct tape instead of the other types
Is there a particular reason for your use of copper bbs? I use zinc galvanized steel bbs, mostly due to a bad habit of spilling them. I wear a magnetic ring, and it’s been surprisingly useful
Chiiin Thanos - I always thought that the copper ones were (minutely) heavier, since copper is denser than zinc. But it really doesn't matter.
@caliber whips where do I get bbs. In Australia Ipswich
Nace Kilpatrick - Try eBay or anywhere else online.
Can I make it without bb s
I did made a nylon paracord whip without bb. But it seem like not smooth as video when I swing it out.
Tôi rất thích roi và tôi ước mơ có được
why do you use thread instead of artificial sinew, can i just use sinew
Blackhawk 19 - Artificial Sinew is stiffer than thread and we need to make that thread almost nonexistent.
why does it look like you're not even pulling the strands tight at all? Most people pulled a strand tight before pulling it into place
Whats the diameter of the BBs?
.177
4.5mm if use metric
How long is the core
Stephen Medianero - The core strand should be 3.5' with the 3 inches of bbs.
How long is the overlay strands
Stephen Medianero - The two longest strands are 15 feet, but since this is an English I and you have to add strands instead of dropping them, you'll have to figure where the best place to add them.
Hey can I ask a question?
Vince Owen - Sure
@Owen Dejong that was his answer
вы продаёте это ?
would this be a good first whip to build or no
It’s funny how people ask questions that are literals in the video 😂 but, when you have the 7th strand inside the core and running a 6plait, when you bump up to 8and pull that core strand out and add the 8th... that part is pretty vague. Yeah, covering every little detail is harder than it looks. You add the English eye a few inches above (or right on top) of the core strand.
