Its like Styx had a baby with Rush....and I'm here for it! And I am pretty sure this is a 2 piece band and the guitar player is also the bassist....playing a 400 lb Rickenbacker dual neck...so yeah this band is impressive...

These two are definitely Rush fans. There's a rolling stone article/interview with them talking about it. One of them even has a Starman (Rush's 2112 album image) tattoo.

Just got into this band and yes they are Canadian and big Rush fans. Cody the vocalist and drummer sounds like a combo of Geddy Lee and Robert Plant. Alex Lifeson from Rush has worked with and promoted them. I saw Crown Lands and Alex Lifeson along with a number of other artists doing a Led Zeppelin cover for a benefit concert. Check out White Buffalo, Sundance and Mountain.

Never heard of this band but that was pretty cool. The term Crown Land means government held land. Growing up we'd camp out and canoe in the wilderness in rural areas of Ontario Canada. So when I saw the name of the band I knew they were Canadian. I'll have to do some more research into this band but this first track was great.

When I discovered Crown Lands few months ago, I had to look up more songs, which like everyone else thought, these guys are just like RUSH, first thing that crossed my mind was, God has given us all Rush fans a great band to replace RUSH for the next few years - again from Canada to keep on rockin'. I love this band; I break down crying every time I listen to it. They sooth your soul with guitar licks and smashing drums. Thank YOU, Crown Lands - you guys' rock!! Special thanks to Neil Peart RIP...the best drummer in the world

I was introduced to Crown Lands when they opened for the HU at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta back in November of 2019. Very rich sound, especially for a 2-person band, and well worth checking out.

I shit you not, about 1 minute before you paused it was when he started singing and it was also when I said out loud "Oh my God he sounds JUST like Geddy!" AND THEN there was that bit where they slowed it down after the bass solo. It sounded a lot like a song Rush did called Time Stands Still, even a little bit like Mystic Rhythms

The band said outright that this was an homage to Rush. Their other songs vary in style, but the fact they could pull off a Rush style song with only 2 people shows they've got some real talent. (At least in my opinion. 😄)

    • @ardrummerboy

Jon I guess you’ve forgotten that LZ ripped off many songs from other artists like Muddy Waters, Joan Baez, and so on. This particular song is their tribute to Rush and the drum set that is being played on this video was actually Neil Peart’s that was loaned to them for this. Additionally the have been joined on stage and played with Geddy and Alex who give them their full blessing. There is seldom ever art that is produced that doesn’t bear any resemblance to what influenced it.
