Our S-10s have almost the exact same setup and I'm going to add an antirollbar later this year so I'm anxious to see how well this works out for you. Keep 'em coming, brother!
I bought my flux core welder for exhaust work only it really surprised me the other day I was on a muffler on a Concrete pump and I needed to weld a sturdy bracket to the frame I was thinking about pulling the stick out but I said no I'm just going to turn this little thing up and see what it'll do I had to turn it down some I had it on high number one about 4 and 1/4 wire speed and it did great on quarter-inch inch no problem high #2 was blowing holes
Yeah they work well for what they are. Almost everything I weld is outside so it's a must. Exhaust with Flux-core is tricky my Lincoln is getting old and heavy compared to the DC welders Im going to pick up one of the titanium DC welders soon.
@@TPVPRO when I picked out my flux core welder I bought the biggest of the little ones when you're buying cheap tools always pick out one a little bigger than what you really need I picked the 240 volt I got a long wire I plug it into I can go all over the pole barn all over the slab on one side and all over the first parking spot on the other side and I just pick it up and carry it when I have to bring out the stick it's a big cart huge long cables 5 different boxes of welding rods all different sizes
I want the same kit 👍🏻 My buddy with the white wagon uses a similar system and he puts it on the bumper 💪🏻 one thing I did see was that long bar bent so it shows it’s working ! Nice job 👍🏻
Good content. Just built a budget 91 s10 drag truck and looking to put a anti roll bar on it. And doing it with poor man welder to yes sir. Weld my solid engine mounts in with one. No cracking after a season
Have faith brother it will hold, I 've had some sketchy looking mig welds in odd angles and they always hold. In the end the only one you have to get approval from is you . Practice makes perfect 👌
Have to admit that's the best i've ever heard a flux core welder sound. I'll be installing the same anti roll in my truck. I cheat, I have a 100% duty mig welder that makes me look like I know what i'm doing. lol
I love your content... I'm working on my S10 suspension now.. Do you have a part number for the anti-roll bar, and was it a special order item? Thanks....Jimmy T.
Do the arms have to be at 5-10 degrees??? I’ve seen a lot of other guys run them straight/vertical before. My manufacturer didn’t send me any specific instructions unfortunately.
I'm putting something like this on my rig. id love to get the results of the trial! I heard you want to be careful of you drive your race on the road with this style of bad because it'll pull the inside wheels of the road.. true? HELP!
I'm welding an anti-roll bar into my S197 Mustang tomorrow with a flux-core welder, I have confidence!! Is yours still holding up good, did you get your track times you was after?
It must not be completely straight when you welded it together. Just move it up and down a bunch of times without grease in the bushing with everything tigh remove and clean out the material that came off. Also lightly hit it with 150 of 200 grit sandpaper until it moves freely but do it nice and slow in order to not over remove material. Then add the grease when it's moving freely.
that's not an anti-roll bar that's a support brace. there's a reason anti-roll bars have u-shaped or a bend in them it's so that it will flex under load without flexibility it does not allow the suspension to balance around cornering.
Ok then talk to TRZ that is what they call it and like everyone else in drag racing. "We go straight" Are you sure what you are describing is not a anti-sway bar?
4yrs late, delrin byshings dont play well with grease. The delrin being self lubricating and the grease in these cases doing nothing but collect contaminates and ruining the lifevof said bushings. In THIS CASE, ill guess you didnt opt for the more exoensive bushings and are fine! But also wanted to add that info for the rest! (And typically it is CLEARLY stated "Do NOT use grease" on all Delrin products included in all major GOOD manufactures instructions lol. Ebay? Maybe not! TRZM? yes, yes they do 😆 looked great tho! Hope you had some good success with it! Ill check it out!
thank you for taking the time to show us how its done. this hands on info is invaluable, much love from texas.

Used this as a guide to install my trick chassis arb on my s10. Thank you for the helpful videos
I am so happy Tyler is using a Ford 9 inch differential and he has the courage to do chasis work
Great video man, it sure helped me out a ton installing mine these past couple days
Got to the end. ANYTHING you can learn from isnt all bad brother. Good attitude in general, something often lost today.
There’s nothing wrong with a flux-core MiG if it’s clean and welded properly

Will definitely hold up. Keep up the good work.
I want the same kit 👍🏻

Nice job 👍🏻
Awesome video, very good job explaining the job, now i have the courage to do this myself
If I can do it literally anyone can. 🤣 Underneath welding, a tig would be ideal. Flux is like standing next to a firework constantly going off.
Great job Kool video.
I bet it will hold !!!
I THINK YOUR GOOD WITH THAT I DID MINE THE SAME WAY WITH NO PROBLEMS, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN THANKS
flux core is arc welding with a mig it will penetrate better. glad i found your video as i just bought this kit for my 509 bbc s10. thanks.

I think it's gonna hold just fine

Next you should weld a turbo on that thing and see if it holds
lol, we have same goals and we have the same motor, 10s on motor and 9s on spray, I need an anti roll bar for my Camaro too
9s is a good goal, it seems one goal turns to another and more $ must be spent to get there.
it will be fine. Flux core is actually sometimes preferred on thicker metal. it just smokes a helluva alot and needs much more cleanup
And when under a vehicle on jack stands it's pretty much like sitting next to a erupting volcano 🌋. 😆
Flux core is same as smaw or stick welding as most call it. It'll hold just fine
I’ve been debating on this with my blazer also after I’m gonna fab a set of traction bars for it also
Have to admit that's the best i've ever heard a flux core welder sound. I'll be installing the same anti roll in my truck. I cheat, I have a 100% duty mig welder that makes me look like I know what i'm doing. lol
Great Job
I weld for a living, it'll hold, anxious to see if it works if so I'll go ahead and add one to my S10
Same with me to .
Can you send pics of how it sit under the truck

Tyler do you think the stock fuel tank would be in the way if I tried to install this kit on my S10? Im still using my stock fuel tank.

How did you get the measurements for the holes in the frame
Off the original holes in that frame on both sides as a reference point.
When I tighten up the 4 bearing cup ears I'll call them my anti roll bar gets stiff in certain positions how can I immediate that
It must not be completely straight when you welded it together. 😂 springs aren’t gonna get messed up.
Wow, a battery drill????
What size holesaw did you need to install this?
I just got the harbor freight kit it's super cheap. I honestly can't remember the size.
It’ll be fine

@Aeneas137 this is not a sway bar, it's an anti-roll bar

I'm hoping you ran a down hill pass and not a up hill
What welder do u have
Old Lincoln weld pak HD, I just picked up a Titanium DC welder man it works better. I wish I had it to weld in the Anti-roll.
Yea I want the titanium 125
Get the grinder out and clean up that frame before drilling.
Drill holes in those frame washer plates and plug weld them 1st
