So, it all started two weeks ago with whatch the world burn, then I stucked in Voices in my head for days, this song woke me up from a huge somnambulant state of mind and now I'm listening to all FIR songs. Gosh. How cool they are! I like the way Ronnie changes and mixes the genres but the main idea is still always serious and important. I wish I could've known FIR years ago. This is, IMO, the best song on this record. Anyone who's struggled with addiction knows this feeling, the sadness of knowing this feeling that embraces you with warmth is ready to kill you at a moment's notice. I love all of FIR, from the silly to the heavy, but songs like these remind me that Ronnie is someone who has suffered, grown, and is ready to share with people who feel the same thing. Yet another Falling In Reverse song I can relate to. Sobriety is hard. Sometimes, I falter, but I keep trying to better myself. Part of being human is learning from your past experiences.
This hits so much harder when when you’re in recovery and suffering from a significant loss. The struggle is real. Choose the right wolf to feed y’all .
Lately discovered falling in reverse..... they're legends edit : this comment is 1 year old now and FIR is one of my favorite bands, and Chemical Prisoner remains my favorite track by them 2nd edit : 2 years now still the same
I love falling in reverse!!! Ronnie is the man. He has done and been thru soo much. Hopefully 1 day I'll have the pleasure to see him and the whole crew in person. Him and the whole band's kinda of music saves my life everytime I'm on the breaking point. Keep rap rocking boys. 1£~2£™ 1£~2£ is my trademark, it simply means u got 1 life 2 love 1 life 2 live.
@@josephlorenz1991 there's nothing wrong with being an "outcast". That's the best kind of person ♥ I hope no one mistreats you. If they do, then I pity them. Enjoy school and cherish those years. Best of luck! I also listened to this and many other "outcast" type bands. (MCR, P!ATD, Green day, escape the fate, falling in reverse, Atreyu, Breaking Benjamin, etc. Lol sorry it's long, I could go on and on 😂) I loved every minute of it! This music got me through life. And still does. I love Our fandom "community" lol. So much. Sorry for the long comment, good luck!
I wish I could just reverse the moment he found out his brother died, and just, well, erase it from history. Instead he should've gotten a call about his brother winning Powerball.
We are all reflections of each other and the source we come from. Hate divides love unites. I can hate fentanyl no problem and love everyone around me… much love
First time hearing this song..... how is this not popular? it hurts.... because this song is so absolutely good in so many ways. Very proud of this song and I had nothing to do with it.
It actually makes me sad to go through 99% of these comments. Everyone's hating on Ronnie, or calling him 'daddy', or just commenting nonsense. I don't think anyone actually understands the true meaning of this song. It may sound catchy, but when you listen to the lyrics and actually take them in, it's so much easier to see the meaning of this song. If you're going to hate on Ronnie (or anyone, for that matter) don't do it here. And don't do it if you're just going to bring Escape The Fate into this, because everything is sorted. You can say I'm over reacting, but over half of these comments are just disrespectful. And it just makes yourself look bad.
Lauryn Anderson You can tell he put work in this song cause its basically his life hes telling us his story thats why i love this band here music isnt nonsense its there life there story
I always come back to this song when I'm missing my sister. This chorus gets me right in the feels and helps me cope so I don't turn back to less productive coping mechanisms. If FIR keeps up the reimagined versions of older songs, I hope this one will eventually become a ballad. It would be truly beautiful.
First time, we can think that Falling In Reverse is just another rock band with lot of commercial singles. But, when we take the time to listen their, there is really a huge depth and emotions. Really.
This song hits home. The struggle of addiction is a real problem. Not only does it hurt you but it really brings down everyone around you. Prop for all of you addicts out there just trying to stay clean and get by. Sending unimaginable Love your ways. Stay strong.
Never thought that one artist would influence my life as he did. Been listening to his work for ~15 years and I'm more than thankful to have his voice and thoughts in my life. To me he's more than just a voice, he's an artist all around. Thank you Ronnie from the bottom of my heart
@@danieldieni3188 I was like 12 when i discovered Escape the Fate 27 rn,been a fan ever since, hope Ronnie is happy, has easy going and fulfilling life and never stops rocking and rapping and doing music
I've been listening to ronnie for almost 9 years without realizing it as I was around 4 when I discovered him from my mother and his music always touched my heart now I can listen to him freely without being interrupted
Ronnie’s my idol bcuz no matter what ever adversity life throws at him he just becomes bigger/stronger from it ! You’ve helped me in life with your music to help me battle with whatever adversity life throws at me as well! Love you bro!
This is one of my all time favorite songs, ever. The part where he says, there's two wolves inside, ones good && the other one is evil. If you're wondering which one inside will succeed, its simple, its the one that you feed." That always hits home. Everytime. And the bikes, I dig that. I feel this.
I'm 41..nearly..I've just discovered this band I'm a papa roach Linkin park slipknot korn etc fan...but I love this band and previous work by Ronnie.. no hate here..I've made plenty mistakes..used to be heroin addict my partners been in jail many times..but do u know we are the kindest people you could meet..figure that out but true
"Chemical Prisoner" I missed a phone call from a friend I knew the other day It's strange, it changed my life forever A couple days go by, I found out that he passed away "Brother" I'm sorry I missed your call. I wasn't there for you at all. And know, I've thought it through, Maybe if I answered you That you would still be here all along. Was he talking about Anthony?
Found this song 6 years ago and I still come back to it from time to time. Having learned more about music as is, the lyrics have so much meaning. I pay attention to lyrics with any metal song now regardless of subgenre and I love hearing the meaning.
Same. This song touched me when I was in my 20’s. And here I am 36 and I still have such a connection to this song. The more I listen the more I can relate. I love metal songs with meaning. And there’s ALOT. I wish metal got the recognition it deserves!!
stolidissimum I just started listening to them so I don't know what their lineup changes have been, but I've been listening to all their albums on repeat, and every iteration has been great :)
Winky Dink Media Fashionably Late doesn't sit well with me. But yeah. If you want to listen to another one of Ronnie's album, listen to Escape The Fate's first album, "Dying Is Your Latest Fashion." Ronnie couldn't continue with the band because he went to jail.
All 4 albums are great and have superb songs. Jackie left but they still make good music, Christian is a perfect guitar player (their new lead guitarist). And realy listen to first album of Escape The Fate, bro!
I've followed Ronnie since the beginning and as I've got older and life and what is important becomes clear. You can understand appreciate his evolution as an artist. Thank You Ronnie and keep being you!

+Brianna Drexler well from every single album, they've never had a video made for a full Metal song. Goodbye Graceful, Don't mess with Ouija boards, Champion, Rolling Stone, Self Destruct personality, Born to lead, Guillotine IV, Die for you, the bitter end. the only videos with screams are Raised by wolves, & Alone. and those aren't even full Metal songs, they have SOME screams, not full screams all the way through, know what I mean? :/ and if their next album is supposed to have "less metal" I doubt there will ever be one. I really hope a God if you are above music video is made though...at least!
Alex Medina I see what you're saying. But who knows about their new album. He said it's gonna be different. They never actually did a complete full metal album either.
Rest Easy my love, you aren't carrying around the guilt and the pain anymore. I don't want to live this life without you and I can't believe that you're gone. My husband, my soulmate, lost his battle with heroin, he loved this song so much...for people who didn't understand how or why we struggled with addiction, this song summed up everything we couldn't put into words. My deepest condolences for your loss. I've lost to many people I love to drug addiction. My oldest son is very caught up in it right now so I can kind of understand what you're going through. I pray that the pain eased and his memory remains bright 💛
Ronnie's music is timeless! Guy has such a unique talent and im so glad he didnt let it go to waste! this song is 8+ years old and is still incredible and there are so many other songs after this that are on par or even better! Keep doing you Ronnie! 🤘🏼
all my frens gave up on Ronnie after he went to prison. i'm so glad i didn't. he has shown me that no matter what, you can get through absolute hell. this is why he's my hero. my frens don't know what they're missing out on.
I just found out about falling in reverse a few weeks ago. I'm all struck at the talent these guys have esp. Ronnie. Dude you're awesome!! Today is my birthday and I'm playing your songs over all the other metal bands I like. Good job! Thanks so much for the music!
I've been listening too Ronnie since 2005. I was in 5th grade 😅 He's Hella creative and I won't stop listening to his music. I love his old sound in ETF but the Drug in me is You is such a awesome album.
Damn i was listening to this song years ago without even knowing its ronnie's,now im a big fan of him and i can say this dude is one of the best singers of our time.
My mom listens to this kind of music but she doesn't listen to this band so when I listen to this with her she asks questions about who it is but that's about it
thank you for making the video this came out the day my grandfather died and helped me through a very difficult time of coping and this song was my main help❤️
+Kamarie Saxton wow calm the fuck down? Just because English isn't his native language he should go die in a hole? Shut the fuck up will ya? You're pathetic.
Okay, a few things 1. I'm back a second time to watch this, because, surprisingly, it's a very... Organic and cleanly made video, and it's surprising ryan isn't eating something here.. It's also scary *(the rest is gonna be about jacky, i'm sure)* 2. It's sad for all of us.. To see this video without jacky 3. It's slightly upsetting that Chris had to play the solo on video that jacky created.. But, someone's gotta do it, so, I'm okay with it and i accept him. 3. Holy shit, yes, Chris resembles jacky in appearance, but, i didn't expect to see so many comments about people saying "Oh my god is that jacky or the new guitarist" Like, if you can't tell the difference... It's sad. Either way, i hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as i did.
The fact that Ronnie has gone through so much in the way of his addiction and overcoming it and all the shit that he's gone through is enough to inspire me. I relate way too closely to the friend dying in the lyrics. I had a friend commit suicide. No one knew how bad it was for him, not even his mother. I found out through Facebook that I had lost my best friend. I can relate to the amount of loss Ronnie must have had to lose this kind of person. He's grown so much as an artist and as someone we can relate to. May we all grow from this and how much loss we have encountered as individuals and as a group.
Definately one of my favorite front men. From his singing and screaming and rapping not many are even on his level. So I believe u shouldnt talk shit if u cant compare.
Don't get me wrong, I've loved everything Falling In Reverse has put out, but this is beyond comparison. The emotion and work behind it is way too much for me and they deserve way more recognition.
Keep going on! G.d bless you. Et plus nous faisons de lumière, plus les gens mauvais veulent nous éteindre. So, keep going guys!
He’s so fucking beautiful! His music gets me through my hardest moments! So fucking relatable! He spits the truth about addiction! No other artist has ever captured it the way he does! Not a day goes by that I dint listen to “popular monster” at least 2 or 3 times since I first heard it. But all his music leaves me sitting there in my mind going “wtf just happened??? That shit hits hard!”
+hanisah junaidi well I dot think it's on the video...it's a thing he did when he used to be a douche he hurt like 3 people by throwing stands in the crowd
So fucking good. I haven’t dealt with any of this drug abuse and never really had a rough childhood. But listening to FIR songs and shit that Ronnie wrote it’s so sad but so catchy. I always listen to the lyrics. They’re heartbreaking. Love FIR
+Elizabeth Manzo Honestly, I'm not a fan of this band, a friend just sent me this track, but I don't really see what's your problem with it. The guitarists play some good melodies, the drums are pretty heavy, and the singer's got a really good voice. And well the solo was cool too. I love Queen, and AC/DC, and ol' stuff like that, I've grown up on those bands, but I like this too. I'd just like you to explain what your problem is with this song, you know, like normal people, talkin' to each other
So many people arguing over what the song is about, but sometimes people fail to realize a song can be about more than one thing, especially when combined with a music video.
Thank you guys.....it's been 14 months, and I feel like if I texted him he'd respond......but he wont. We went thru school, always at grams together, Sunday school at church for years, skipping school to party with him and people from the area in other schools, did computer work together and he always had time to talk.....like he'd take off of work to come talk if I really needed a friend.......and I just can't replace that. Hate to spill my guts online....but I think 24/7.....what if I said no when he asked to do drugs?! Is it mt fault? I was the last one there for him when his own family left him.....ism the last person he ever texted and I didn't get back for a couple hours and he was already dead......God damn I miss you bro
Love you Ronnie... I am a convert to and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am 10 years strong recovering alcoholic/addict and will never be completely healed (thorn in the flesh). I have found relief through working the twelve steps in AA and go to a church group Addiction Recovery Program as well. I stay sober through the active effort of working the steps everyday with the wisdom and knowledge of the serenity prayer. I wish to share my testimony with you of being sustained in this fallen world through a power greater than myself. I know the struggle of surrender and letting everything go. It sucks. Being vulnerable is the scariest thing in the world, but on the other side is miracles & the greater knowledge that passeth all understanding. That power to me is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. Your music moves me, and I truly empathize with you my brother (tears down my face when I listen to your music). I am so proud of the work you have done in creating Falling in Reverse, also with your new life of becoming a new creature everyday. We are all strangers and pilgrims in this world and that is why we will never fully feel comfortable on earth while we are here. At times my mind has split, and I have felt like I am going insane, keeping my demons and the other dark forces at bay. I have come to understand this is the great probation and testing ground. When anyone is ready for further light and knowledge all they have to do is ask sincerely in faith, and with a little patience and they will find it. Again, many thanks for you and your band that creates such awesome music (understatement).
+Molly Winchester Because some people think just because I'm black I like rap no I like musil like falling in reverse most black people I come across listens to rap buy hey at least they are enjoying their music!
I have met plenty of African Americans who listen to strictly rock and or metal. Hell some of the best metal/rock frontmen and guitarists are black. Look at Hendrix. One of the greatest performers of all time. This day and age probably the best African American metal vocalist is Howard from Killswitch Engage. (Although he left). Keep doing you man. Listen to whatever you want, don't let stereotypes keep you away from whatever if like. Rock on
There's two wolves that battle in us all right now One's good, The other one is evil If you're wondering which wolf inside will succeed It's simple, it's the one that you feed
I interpret this song like this: Since Ronnie’s brother passed away, he is feeling pain and wants to go back to drugs to get rid of the pain but at the same time doesn’t want to go back because he wants to get better
Losing school and all the structure and ways it gave me to cope is causing me to go back to my old ways. I feel like I cannot stop myself from going back to the worst time in my life. This song makes me feel like I can fight back and get through this.
I'm not going to pretend like I was a long time listener or that I feel anything close to long time fans, but it does make me sad because I just started listening to them a lot and I knew he was a founding member. When I heard the news, this song started playing in my head. RIP Derek Jones.

I wish I could just reverse the moment he found out his brother died, and just, well, erase it from history. Instead he should've gotten a call about his brother winning Powerball.

So true. Crazy how much I can relate to his music.
It’s like he’s in my head writing songs about me xD
Lauryn Anderson piss off lauryn
Generic Account and that's my point. It's not my fault I can actually see the meaning of things and you get butt hurt from it.
That is A great name this song is either about his brother anthony or his freind chris idk wich one but what I do know is this guy is right
Lauryn Anderson You can tell he put work in this song cause its basically his life hes telling us his story thats why i love this band here music isnt nonsense its there life there story

I always come back to this song when I'm missing my sister. This chorus gets me right in the feels and helps me cope so I don't turn back to less productive coping mechanisms. If FIR keeps up the reimagined versions of older songs, I hope this one will eventually become a ballad. It would be truly beautiful.
that would be really amazing if they did this reimagined I love this song
this song written about his brother who died and so was brother
Y2JEPARDY GAMES i think it's also about his drug addiction that he had to stop when he was in prison

First time, we can think that Falling In Reverse is just another rock band with lot of commercial singles. But, when we take the time to listen their, there is really a huge depth and emotions. Really.

me too I've been waiting
duuuuude yes!!! unfortunately I doubt that would ever happen!
You never know what kind of tricks they have up their sleeve.

Okay, a few things
1. I'm back a second time to watch this, because, surprisingly, it's a very... Organic and cleanly made video, and it's surprising ryan isn't eating something here.. It's also scary
*(the rest is gonna be about jacky, i'm sure)*
2. It's sad for all of us.. To see this video without jacky
3. It's slightly upsetting that Chris had to play the solo on video that jacky created.. But, someone's gotta do it, so, I'm okay with it and i accept him.
3. Holy shit, yes, Chris resembles jacky in appearance, but, i didn't expect to see so many comments about people saying "Oh my god is that jacky or the new guitarist"
Like, if you can't tell the difference... It's sad.
Either way, i hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as i did.

real good song AND video. Very efficient, glad to hear about FIR.
To become a successful musician takes talent, hard work and a little luck,
So the fact that he did it TWICE is too much for the envious ones to handle!
The emotion and work behind it is way too much for me and they deserve way more recognition.
jesus christ. what a handsome man. what a voice
Ronnie Radke. One of the sexiest men to live
