Doctor is the last thing I want to be, I cannot bear the thought of shouldering such a heavy responsibility Much respect for all of the doctors out there! 👍
@@Tussicore They may start in their offices at 8am but before that they are rounding at the hospital, working up an admission at the hospital, rounding at the nursing home or answering questions from the emergency room. In addition to making/receiving phone calls to pharmacy, rehab centers and more. The list goes on and on...
"Generally the nurses are better at doing the procedures because they do then so much more often..." 😘 I adore when doctors point out that nurses are integral to the healthcare team. We're so much more than pills and bedpans. Thanks for the shout out, doc!
Obviously, not only nurses are our eyes, ears, hands and feet they also are in charge of running the system properly so the doctors can do their job. A good nurse is an asset just as much as a good doctor.
Im a PA. I think a lot of these medical shows paint this picture that Docs and other providers cowboy everything and nurses are the equivalent of extras in the background. But anybody who has been a provider for any length of time knows how huge it is to have good support staff. Your job is so much harder if the help is not as good. It can make such a huge difference when you have really good nurses, techs, therapists etc. Most people in the medical field appreciate and rely on other people. Yes occasionally run into those sorts of people who don't seem to be too cognizant of that but for the most part most of the people that I have worked with give credit where credit is due and don't disregard those support staff who make our job as providers easier.
As someone in a huge family with tons of nurses I forget that it’s not common knowledge that nurses are better at just about every basic procedure than the average MD
2:30 There is a good reason for using a beeper: It works on a much longer wavelength than cellphones, which means they always work, even in elevators or underground parking garages.
The thing about Scrubs is that it starts in a relatively dark place, because it starts when JD and his friends are extremely anxious about their new job, and over time all of the characters in the series show a lot of growth. The main driver of the show is the idea that the experiences they go through working at this hospital really help them to change and become better people.
Sobepome so True. Its one of the few series that brings a smile To your face But sometimes it ends on a serious note, als Some of The scenes and music go so well. I Love this show and I only watched it like 3 times. :D
The show even brings attention to this several seasons in where JD starts realizing he's become a bit cold, in the sense that very little phases him in the hospital anymore.
The best comedies never shy away from exploring dark areas, and it also makes the funny moments all the more sweeter in contrast. If done well like I thought scrubs did.
I worked in the Ambulance service in the UK around the time scrubs was made and there was definitely that dark humour that you see in scrubs from time to time.
Sobepome Very well put. My wife is a nurse and she always says that Scrubs is the most accurate show on social mechanics and how people actually think of each other and treat one another in hospitals. She says, Dr. Cox - one of the most outrageous characters in TV history - could actually be based on a real doctor she used to work with, so you definitely get these sorts in real-life hospitals. But you probably need to watch the show for some time to get that, as it is very much based on the ways relationships evolve in these environments.
Dood, you gotta watch the rest of the episodes. It may be a comedy, but the character development and comedy get WAY better... and the dark stuff gets darker. It really was a good show, and worthy of all its praise.
Ayyyyy I’m gen Z and I just recently finished scrubs (last season not counted) my father and I watch older shows together and it’s really fun. I loved scrubs, and that last episode man. The only thing I was disappointed about was that Ben wasn’t there when he was talking about the friends he lost. Oh and Bens funeral episode. I-
Scrubs was never claimed to be the most medically accurate show. It was claimed to be the most accurate representation of what new doctors go through. That was the whole focus of the show. Not the medicine, but the situations that newly minted doctors have to deal with and the effect it has on them emotionally.
@@TheKillahKyla Can you find a reference? Because I am sure I remember when it first came out that it was specifically the experience of newly minted doctors that was being claimed to be accurate. House, on the other hand, claimed medical accuracy. At least in the first couple of seasons.
@@SarthorS house is definitely not medically accurate. I used to love it in my first year in medical school, but realised how many mistakes it has couple of years into it.
"It's regular strength Tylenol...get her to open her mouth take a handful and throw it at her, whatever sticks that's the correct dosage" Dr. Mike: I'm going to be honest and say I've done stuff like this I took that waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too literally
All I thought about was how acetaminophen kills so many people from liver failure and interferes with many other drugs. Sure, seems like no big deal, but shit is serious. Great to see a "real" doctor shrug it off like that wasn't a good question. It's only the leading cause of liver failure so yeah let's just tell patients to take it no matter what, seems smart. Who cares, right?
Phelix Anger The show is meant to be comedic, not to be taken completely seriously, and he didn’t say it wasn’t a viable question, he was just referring to how it’s not uncommon for doctors to be a little less confident when starting out, like the doctor in the show is. I’m assuming by ‘“real” doctor’ you’re referring to Dr. Mike.
@@silentlynx5777 Yes, the scene from the show was great, it was funny. I just hoped Mike would add a little insight into how dangerous Tylenol can be. Too little people know this, they think since it's over the counter it can't be bad.
You've probably heard this a hundred times by now, but the reason pagers are used is because they are incredibly emergency resistant. If the cell network is clogged, a pager message can still get through.
I'm 4 years late, but I hope you took the time to finish the series. You're knocking it for some of its darkness, but that is exactly what makes Scrubs so spectacular. It's one of those extremely rare shows that can have you dying laughing and crying only moments later. Very, very, very, very, very few shows in history have ever been able to balance drama and comedy on a level as accurate, and powerful as scrubs has. It's bar none, the single most underrated and underappreciated show of all time
@@Sdority905 There was M.A.S.H. that came before it. But you have to watch it with the laugh track turned off. Watching it with that stupid "Ha ha ha" added after every line of dialog totally ruins the show.
I’d love to see a reaction to the scrubs episode where the old woman decides she’s ready to die, and JD can’t cope with it. Gosh, I didn’t half tear up at that one.
one of the best things about Scrubs isn't just how the characters change but also the fact we have other professions at the hospital shown - the accountants the janitors the support staff - people that boost the doctors and nurses as they work. they also aren't just sketches of the character types but they grow as the hospital grows and changes and gives the show the feeling of a small community centered around helping sick people. because that is what a hospital is - a community.
I have much respect for doctors and the strength, patience, and knowledge that they have. I've always said I wouldn't become a doctor but this channel is kind of making me think twice about it.
As a doctor myself, I love Scrubs the most among all the doctor shows because though their jokes may be dated, with regards to the lessons you learn and pick up as you start as an intern all the way to becoming an attending, it's very accurate. I suggest you keep watching the show. :)
I've heard from many different people who work in hospitals that Scrubs is the most emotionally realistic of the medical shows even if the plots get a little surreal sometimes. My all-time favorite bit from the show is when Perry greets the interns by saying, "Good morning, reasons why I drink."
My former family Doctor (Now retired) was one of the most straight-laced, serious-minded people I have ever known. I convinced him to watch Scrubs, and he absolutely LOVED it. Said it was actually pretty accurate, and very relatable to him. We would always spend a few minutes talking about the latest episode at my appointments after that.
I think one of the reasons this show is considered to be more accurate is because they actually do show the nurses doing more of the bedside care. So many shows have the doctors running around doing the nurses job! xD
Scrubs aged very well! The storytelling is excellent and they pick up very mature and intense topics to tell. Very little "laughtracks" and good camera work. One of my all time favorites!
Wdym" very little"? There are literally no lough tracks in the show except for when Jedi pictured his life as a sitcom in his head and maybe some very specific day dream moments or something
@@georgecaplin9075 Yea, the show was top quality for it's time, and even today I would consider it way up there. Top comedy, top drama, top transitions between the two, top showing growth of the characters, top characters with depth... Just amazing all the way through.
I totally get what you mean about the stereotypes and stuff but keep in mind that its the pilot episode/first episode. the great thing about scrubs is that as each season goes it gets more complex and gains more emotional depth. scrubs is one of the few sitcoms to ever make me cry and feel real pain for the characters in it while still not loosing its joy.
You definitely need to watch more episodes, especially episodes where they lose patients. One of the main things the show got applauded for was for the concept of not always the perfect solution by the end of the episode, or by the time they find out what's going on, it's too late. Some good episodes to check out: My Old Lady and My Five Stages are good. There pairs of episodes that work well together lile My Lunch and My Fallen Idol or My No Good Reason and My Long Goodbye. Also keep in mind when the episodes air and how vastly different hospitals can be now compared to back then. The show first aired in 2001, 17 years ago. Some of the more outlandish medical moments come from real experiences from the doctor they consulting for the show (the consultant is a friend of the show's creator). It gets the most praise for getting the personal lives of the doctors down so well
I feel like scrubs is one of those shows that most people think “oh it’s just a comedy” but there is so much emotional impact to each character throughout the show. The episode where Dr Cox breaks down is one of my favourites
Please do more episodes! The part of scrubs that really makes it worthwhile are the times where patients die and they don't find some miraculous save at the end of the day. You should do a react video to the 4th episode "My Old Lady"
Alexis Gantous what's the one that opens with "1/3 patients die" or something and it's following Elliot JD and Turk with 3 different patients? That's a great one
It's "My Old Lady". Great episode from season 1. "My Lunch" from season 5 is also a good stand alone episode showing the more emotional side of scrubs. It's the one where they find out their transplant patient has rabies and all the donors then catch it.
Timothy Bird, whoa I've watched through this show three times and I didn't realize "my old lady" was the same one as the one with the three patients lol. I'm a terrible fan
This episode is over 15 years old.. and pilot episodes tend to be pretty lowest common denominator. I'd be interested in seeing a later episode towards the end of the series, before Zach Braff left.
There's a great one called 'My Lunch'. They take some licence with it in that all the donor organs go to patients within the same hospital, but otherwise is an episode that would be good to get your opinion on.
Yeah when you watch later episodes you learn that all the mean spirited characters are actually just putting up a facade and they actually really care about their patients. I remember an episode where doctor cox has 3 of his patients die on him in the same day and he takes it pretty hard and gets really depressed.
The show only gets better as it goes along. I would love to see you do other episodes. There are a lot more medical things that they get into, plus some really good lessons learned as well, in regards to emotional and mental challenges that doctors face.
“Too dark.” Heh, heh, heh, oh you sweet summer child. Somebody trained after the residency work hour restrictions. Dr Cox is just all of our Ids unleashed. Everything you wish you could say but can’t. “Help me help you, help me help you, help me help you.” Honestly, though, it’s the patient death rate on this show that’s the most realistic. Yes, we do everything we can to extend life, but in the end, we will lose and the patient will die at some point. This show does an excellent job of exploring this cold, but at the same time oddly comforting reality. Our job really is to try to improve the quality of the time we are gifted with. First do no harm.
@@nettysrandombitsnpieces6790 that one was really good, and ridiculously sad. How about the 3rd episode of the series with the old woman coming to grips with death? I was not ready for that at all
Note: Yes some of the stereotypes are a bit outdated, but when my family watched it together my dad (who's a surgeon) was usually the one laughing the hardest because it was so true in his time as a doctor. (He's also quite a bit older than you)
After watching this i gave Scrubs a chance and now im on season 5. As an adult i definitely appreciate it more than when I was 14 (when this first came out)
Scrubs is one of my favorite shows. You have to realize, this show came out quite a long time ago, and you admitted yourself that things used to be less positive in rounds and stuff back in the day. But the harshness and darkness is part of what makes it a great show imo. It helps you empathize with the characters experiences.
I think he was saying he'd rather see positives shown than negatives. Which is fine if you just want to push messaging, but I agree that it was accurate then, and still is now. I work in the ER and I tell people all the time that scrubs is the closest medical show in accuracy that I've seen. I haven't seen them all though just as a disclaimer.
He never said it wasn't He talked about beepers being outdated and the cast have said that before too and since the show some procedures have been changed like he said.......
The show used the actual John Dorian for the show. It was based around his life as a doctor and was factually accurate for what he actually went through as a doctor.
This show was my favorite coming of age tale. It wasn't just for medical students, the scenarios rang true for my life in the military as well. Now that I'm older I can rewatch this show and remember how awkward some of my life choices were.
Olha Michalak and taesthetic Vibe I am in the same boat. I don't feel I'm any of those things either. Even with a 4 year college degree, when people say "you're a smart guy" I always defer and say well I don't know about that. Wearing glasses seems to make one look smarter? I don't know. I try not to think I'm smart as I have so much learning left to do. Anyway. But what keeps me in the game is how much cool new stuff I learn every day. I find, for me, the older I grow, the less I know. So, I'm always hungry for new knowledge. And consider keeping this in mind, as it works pretty well for me: I always think about everything I have learned for that day. And what keeps me going is this thought: "If I learned THAT much TODAY? Just imagine how much I'll learn tomorrow."☺ I feel a bit sad for those that feel they know everything and don't need or want to learn more. I never want to stop learning, until they nail my coffin shut, and lower me into the ground. Maybe then I will stop craving new knowledge. Maybe. Something else I believe is true? That you believe you are not all those things, is a strong indicator you really are all those things. You just don't brag about them because it's unseemly. ☺ It's not unlike being insane: if you know you are and admit it? You're probably not insane. But, if you ARE insane and DENY that you are? You are. ☺ (And trust me, I am crazy enough for at LEAST two people.) People bragging about how good they are at everything, usually are not as good at anything, at least to the level they want everyone to believe they are. (Guys who believe they are good in bed, typically are not at all good in bed. Not that you asked, just as an example since we've all met those guys.)
+ toddvandell85 A bit of a long comment, but I totally get you. You go through your degree after mad panic, loose all sanity (if you ever had it in the first place) then are like, oh, I have a degree... now what? Then you go for a job because its the next logical step, and find you don't 100% suck, but you may be bat-shit insane and find it hard to talk to people, but that's ok. Because everyone is human, people make mistakes and making mistakes is ok. Just be you and keep learning and growing. You'll always encounter dudes who think they know everything, but there is always a bigger fish. It's better to be humble and realise that no one in the world is perfect. But you can get better then you are today. Also, trust me I am bat-shit crazy. But being crazy is fine. Normal is a lie.
@@Stettafire Nope, bat shit crazy. That's me. But thank you for your kind words. No one wants to hire me though, but I'll do my own thing be my own boss.
Definitely watch more episodes of Scrubs, it will give you a better perspective of the show! It gets better after the pilot. There are some heartwrenching episodes, and a lot of moments that make you think, too!
I had the same experience as a newly licensed RN. I was assigned a mentor whose first job was placing an IV. I told her I knew how, she smiled patiently and said, "No, you don't. This is a real patient." Later in the patient's room I was blown away by her confidence and kindness that helped her to calm the patient and place the IV within about 3 minutes. I realized I had a lot to learn.
It's a far later episode, but I really want to see your reaction to arguably the best Scrubs episode: Season 5 Episode 20 "My Lunch" This episode is amazing and easily my favorite episode from Scrubs. That and the next 2 episodes after is arguably the best story arc of Scrubs.
I would agree, but it may be one of those cases where you really have to watch the show up to that point to get the full impact. Unless you care about Cox and JD, uless you know Cox's normal demeanor and attitude, it won't hit nealy as hard. I don't think it'sthe sort of thing you can watch standalone and really get it fully.
You should definitely watch more than one episode of this show. It’s got a lot of heart and realistic situations (post-partum depression, grief and loss) but also is comical with some relatable moments.
I suggest watching more Scrubs because it gets funnier and less mean spirited as the series goes along! The “dark” stuff is just related to the characters and it becomes about them and how being a doctor affects their lives and how their personal lives affects their practice, it’s a really great show
Love the video. Loved the show. Scrubs is very "oldschool" humor and J.D just does not grow up. Still wants to be hugged, when he became a chief-resident. It's all about the Janitor in this series, believe me ^^.
What I love about this show is how it was a comedy but it was also wholesome and had those moments that really rug at your heart strings. Such a great show.
I love these reaction videos. It really gives some good perspective on the realities of being a doctor and also helps me understand if being a doctor is a potential path I would like to pursue. Thanks for the helpful information! I really enjoy these videos.
Glad I found your channel, please review more Scrubs :) Pilots are always difficult, and the show itself is a bit dated, so stereotypes are to be expected.
Ivo Sotirov the episode where Dr. Cox loses 3 patients would be a great one to see. A lot of medical stuff as well as the impact of losing patients handled in that episode/episodes.
It's kind of a 3 parter in season 5, starts with "My Lunch" which is when all his patients die, episode 20, and is followed up by "My Fallen Idol" which is when Dr. Cox comes into work intoxicated and then quits. He comes back to work in episode 22. I can never watch the end of episode 20 and not cry.
This ^ I believe the show started in the 90s or early 2000s? Shortly after Friends if I'm remembering correctly. So these stereotypes are played on for the sake of comedy. And it is a comedy, so things can be heavily exaggerated at times, or forsaken for the sake of pace and TV production restrictions.
Don't feel too bad about the stereotyping. This show IS pretty old and if they did decide to reboot it, there'd probably be a lot of changes. It does get better though, this show was my life during my pre-teen/teenage years and it still definitely is.
I’m a nurse. Had to take my partner to the hospital (he’s a paramedic)and we watched a new doctor trying to take blood and put in an IV 🤦🏼♂️😂 he was apologetic to say the least. What’s more funny is I had to tell him it wasn’t in correctly. He called a nurse. We both completely understood
Scrubs is the kind of show that finds its stride after the first season, once there's more character growth. If you want an episode w/ more humor, try My Half Acre. More heart, My Last Words. More tear jerking, My Lunch/My Fallen Idol. More "There's so many moving parts that I have no idea what to think.", My Musical. Give the show a shot!
the cool thing about the "mean-spirited" doctors in the show is that as the show progresses you see that theyre only sarcastic assholes because theyre trying to save face & keep it together so they can get the job done without being a blubbering mess every 2 seconds dr cox has a massive breakdown later in the series & its pretty damn powerful because hes usually goofy & sarcastic its a shock seeing him lose it
5:05 You know the show is medically accurate when an actual doctor has a genuine laugh at a sentence that to other people just sounds as random gibberish.
There is a lot of sex and relationship drama in Scrubs, but is still a really good show. The medicine is really accurate mainly because they never get into anything too rare or complicated (with the exception of the episode based on House M.D., and the one where Eliot literally reads out of textbooks the whole time). The most impressive thing to me is the clocks in the background. The clocks are always set to an appropriate time for the scene.
I think it's amazing how you find the time to be up at 4 am.. Stay fit.. Take care of your pets.. Be a doctor.. Watch these shows.. Record..edit and upload I was just glad I was able to get up and get a cup of coffee Love this
Yeah, if any of the shows he watched so far, this is the one to continue with. Because I agree, the first season is a bit dark. But I think they do it on purpose to kind of set a more serious tone. They were also probably a bit unsure of the direction they were going. But this show really finds its identity later on, and becomes much more light hearted.
I totally agree that there are certain stigmas that the medical community is attributed with that need to be challenged; however, I think over the course of Scrubs that does happen to an extent. It's also important to remember that this show originally aired in 2001, 17 years ago! The social landscape was very different then!
Not to forget that even though it poses stereotypes it also challenges them. You can't judge a whole show off of its pilot. usually quality goes up after the first one.
I'm curious to know if you noticed in the opening theme that the chest x-ray was backwards. My dad loved this show but that always annoyed him. Eventually a few seasons in, during the opening, the music stops, one of the new characters walks in, and she flips it the right way around and says, "That was backwards, it's been bugging me for years!" My dad freaked out, he was so excited, he was like "Ugh YES I've been saying that forever!" Also, like I already said, my dad is a doctor and everyone also calls him "Doctor Mike." So while you're basically the perfect man I can't find you attractive because that's all I can think of lol. I still love your videos! Keep doing what you do.
So the creators of the show said that they did this on purpose because the doctors are new and can do things wrong and years later this fixed it because they learned more.
In Season 5 of Scrubs, there is an episode called My Lunch. It's profoundly sad, but I believe it to be the best moment of the entire show. I highly recommend you check it out. Many people call it their favorite episode, which is odd for a comedy's best episode to be so overwhelmingly depressing, but it displays the best writing. As a doctor, you might have had a day like this, although I hope you haven't.
Jeff Cheek, the saddest and most memorable episode for me was "My Screw Up" with Dr. Cox's brother-in-law (Brendan Fraser). You definitely need to be invested in the show for it to hit hard but one of the only episodes to really make me cry
He keeps talking about the stereotypes in the medical community and how things are now, but I would have liked to hear him connect it to not only his experiences but also his attending's experiences. Scrubs came out in 2001. The culture of medicine has definitely changed and it would have been nice to hear some more specifics. I mean even just the humor of sitcoms has changed. He claims it pushes the stereotypes a lot and how we need to fight them....but stereotypes were late 90's sitcoms' bread and butter. It doesn't take away from the accuracy of the show. Overall I enjoyed this, but I think people need to remember that medicine is always changing so it's hard to compare Scrubs directly to as it is now.
Your love of this show just got you a new fan lol. I adore this show. I discovered it right after I got out of nursing school and i HATED nursing. Hated it. I'd come home and watch this show that I'd recorded the night before. It really kept me from giving up my field. My Sacrificial Calm was the turning point for me. 💜💜
Remember this is from the early to mid 2000s. Climate was different. I finished residency in 2006, there was still a lot of malignant behavior still. As for sex, that was a part of every residency. My wife and I met as residents together. Two of my co-residents got divorces and married ED nurses. Sex was definitely a part of the residency experience. You spend all your time there.
Same goes for a lot of jobs that require long hours, imo. I work as a cook. A lot of servers and cooks work 10 and sometimes even 12 hours per day. Doesn't leave much time outside of that to meet people. And, as I expected, a lot of the team has had a relationship in the past, are currently dating, or are even married. We also have family working together and the like.
Re: the pagers; I work in IT and basically I am on call 24/7. For this I also carry a pager. The simple reason is that pagers work on a different frequency than mobile phones and the coverage is way, way better. Pagers will work in places a mobile phone won't have a chance of getting a signal, like deep underground and such. This has been changing in the last decade since cellular repeaters became a possibility, but still there are many places where a cellular phone won't get a signal and a pager will.
I sort of worked in a hospital and isn't also that its not your pager but the resident on call's pager? My wife worked with more Drs and they would sometimes have multiple roles and have to carry multiple pagers. The person paging you has no idea who is holding the pager. Also it would be a nightmare keeping up with who is on call.
that said, i think they work with longer wavelength that can store more energy and therefore get through different material without loosing too much power. It´s the switch of the medium A to B (like concrete air) that steals much energy from a wave and some of the energy get´s reflected inside material A backwards. For example yelling in a room gets reflected but also lead through the walls and some energy is taken for the change of wavelength. Multiple stacks of thin but separated concrete isolates much better than a regular wall.
Something like that, however not exactly. Shorter wavelengths (higher frequencies) have a higher energy (for radio the same as light, which is why infrared light has less energy than UV). Different frequencies do indeed penetrate better into some materials, but that's not the difference between pagers and cellular. Pagers are still on the 900Mhz band, where in the past also cellular phones were (when they were still bricks). Today cellular phones are between 1600 and 2800Mhz, but the power is much, much lower. This has less to do with energy and more with the fact that higher frequencies allow for smaller antennas. If you really have to be reachable, pagers work better than cellular for multiple reasons: 1. much better coverage, in many western countries the government has required (often in the past, though some countries maintain it) telecoms to provide universal coverage, specifically for emergency usage when radio contact was not possible. Most of this equipment is still maintained. 2. The pager signal is much higher power than anything cellular today (factor 10 to 500). 3. Much more overlap between transmitters than cellular. 4. Pagers usually only have the pager function, so much more space for a larger antenna for better reception. It also does not need to transmit so the antenna can be optimized for receiving only instead of being average at both receiving and transmitting. 5. Simpler protocol, less information to transmit & more redundancy. I believe pager messages are transmitted up to 10 times, the pager just needs to receive one message, and modern pagers can even cobble together one complete message from multiple partial ones.
There are indeed satellite pagers, but most pagers do not work via satellite. Also, it's possible to get a cellphone with a priority plan (if you can justify needing it), which will boot someone off the cell tower if you need access. So you would be able to complete a call as long as the network functions. Such a plan usually comes with universal/domestic roaming as well, which will always pick the network with the best signal, regardless of whether it is your provider's or another. This mostly saves battery.
nice comment. I am not interested enough in doctor's series to subscribe but I really like the idea of professionals commenting on TV shows realism. Not just in a cynical way - a TV show is a TV show - but giving people an idea of what is realistic and what is total fiction
As someone who has had over 100 surgeries/OSPs since I was 18 months old, over 23 years, I have these same reactions watching these shows.. I've spent years in hospitals absorbing everything I see and so much of what is on TV is laughably fake.. like magic defibrillators bringing *dead* people back, and doctors breaking laws in crazy ways, or discussing patients info in public areas (I love the awkward silence when you walk by talking doctors while they wait for you to pass out of earshot lol), and all the ridiculous hospital sex. Hospitals aren't sexy, everyone is tired, smell like farts and hand sanitizer, and just want to do a good job and go the fuck home and sleep! You're absolutely doing the world a service, and doctors and huge favor by showing how it really is. I always wanted to be a doctor as a kid, but as I became an adult I knew I couldn't handle it. I'm a germaphobe, I'm terrified of needles (I hate those prickly phlebotomy vampires. Get a real job and stop stealing people's life juice!), and honestly.. I couldn't handle it mentally or emotionally. Doctors are straight up heroes. No joke. Even take away the life saving.. just the hours worked, years and decades studied, mountains of debt, working under absolute stress, working with a giant liability guillotine overhead, and having to deal with... _humans_ ugh. Heroes. That save lives, even with all of that weighing them down.
You said it perfectly. I would *never* be able to handle even the smallest things that doctors do. Sooo grateful that there are others in the world who can and choose to!
I work as a veterinarian and was also a frequent visitor to hospitals as a kid and young adult. I can honestly say that what I observed in both vets and doctors, the hardest thing is working with humans, but also that helping people and animals is the most rewarding thing you can do in my opinion.
Please upvote so Dr.Mike can see this comment. The 2 best episodes of Scrubs are: 1. Episode S03E14: "My Screw up" .This is *THE* Scrubs Episode and the *ONLY* medical drama episode to be ever nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing. 2. Episode S08E02: "My Last Words." The episode is so sad! 3.Episode S05E20: "My Lunch"
My last words got me so bad. They legit explain how he is going to die, hours before it happens then he dies and they literally just watch it happen so he won't be alone. Anyone who pins this show as a comedy or focuses on the romantic aspects have obviously not given it any sort of chance
Sonia Ramrakhiani he has one of those smiles that just makes you think "man I wouldn't mind that smile being because of me". Lol It's so heartwarming and beautiful. I like how he kind of opens his motu a little before he smiles or laughs a little. So adorable.
I absolutely adore scrubs and nothing will ever be able to ruin that for me. One of the best comedies around when I was growing up. Your channel is amazing, and thank you for making so much incredible content.
Scrubs is definitely a show that has to grow on you. I only got really attached to it by Season 4 or so tbh. I just appreciate the fact that it's creators are actual physicians who get a sense of the hospital dynamic. Skip ahead a couple seasons and the series picks up some real genuine heart
kartman568 did he? He might have. It's almost 5 am here and I couldn't remember for sure which ones he hadn't done besides Offspring, which is Australian.
I love how educational your reacts are! I'm genuinely fascinated by medicine and anatomy, even though I'll never get into them as a career. I love learning this stuff. 🥰 Thank you!
My favorite episode is when a lady has a high heel stuck to her face saying "Get your germy hands off of me!" And " Get your greasy eyes off of me!". Like, chill lady!
Please please please react to S5E20 My Lunch. Heartbreaking episode and medically very interesting. Probably my favourite episode of any medical TV show.
Jill Tracy is a recurring character & as such, a recurring patient. For the true lesson J.D. learns to really sink in, I suggest first viewing: ‘My Nickname’ (S1E10) ‘My Occurrence’ (S1E22) ‘My Fifteen Seconds’(S3E7)
You are a super hero. All medical related personnel! Thank you for all schooling, work, and the learning you do! There is no way I could handle the responsibility! P.s. You’re pretty easy on the eyes. Dr. McDreamy if I ever saw one!
I remember when I got woken up at 5:30 am by a group of doctors doing rounds. Clearly, I was the first patient of the day because of the smell of coffee. Weirdest experience of my life.
The show gets much better going in. The characters really develop and the stories suck you in real deep. It's worth investing the time. If you dont love it by the end of season 3, I'd be surprised.
Scrubs was a great show, it definitely can get dark, but i think it always does a good job with mixing the dark and the humor. as for the pushing stereotypes: season 1 started in 2001 so it can seem a bit outdated in that regard. just something to keep in mind before you judge it to harshly
Ryan agree. My husband has been a doc for almost 30 years now and the only med show he would watch was Scrubs. He used to physically cringe when I watched ER. Scrubs was the closest to his experiences. However, I’m sure today’s residents will have a different experience. As thus see it through a different lens.
Of course, Tylenol (paracetamol/acetaminophen) isn't totally harmless. In overdose it can cause liver damage, so you need to be aware if the patient is vulnerable in that area. What's sad is people who try to kill themself with this drug, who end up alive but with a destroyed liver that needs treatment for the rest of their life.
I’d really like to see more reactions for scrubs episodes, it may not be the most medically accurate but I think the drama and stories in it are amazing.
Doctor is the last thing I want to be, I cannot bear the thought of shouldering such a heavy responsibility
Much respect for all of the doctors out there! 👍
にゃあエイリアンMeowAlien agreed
にゃあエイリアンMeowAlien - a lot of people do it for the money
And here i am trying my best to actually become a doc one day cause its kinda my dream job..especially because of all the heavy moments
thank you!
Ray Radiance - yes it's true but not all doctors. There's still a lot of doctor doing it not just for the money but to save people.

*crossing doctor off the list*
Kevin Le 😂 for real
LMAAAO
Lmao right? I sleep in until 10am so unless I soley work night shifts, being a doctor is not for me
Well it depends on the field you are in. I know a lot of doctors who start at 7.30 or 8.00.
"Generally the nurses are better at doing the procedures because they do then so much more often..."
😘 I adore when doctors point out that nurses are integral to the healthcare team. We're so much more than pills and bedpans. Thanks for the shout out, doc!
Hey fellow RN! Agreed! ☺
Obviously, not only nurses are our eyes, ears, hands and feet they also are in charge of running the system properly so the doctors can do their job. A good nurse is an asset just as much as a good doctor.
❤️ showing some fellow RN love!!
Nurses are not valued enough! In my med school we're always being warned to respect the nurses - their help might make or break us when we're juniors!
No doctor on the planet doubts that, you go !
I love when doctors are honest, and admit that nurses can often times be better at procedures such as IV sticks. He’s very humble.
Scrubs give a lot of credit to the nurses as well. He should have showed the clip when nurse Carla helped JD on his first incision.
Everybody who has ever been in a hospital can proof this...🙈
As someone in a huge family with tons of nurses I forget that it’s not common knowledge that nurses are better at just about every basic procedure than the average MD
They’re the ones doing it every day. Of course they’re better at it
2:30 There is a good reason for using a beeper: It works on a much longer wavelength than cellphones, which means they always work, even in elevators or underground parking garages.
Sobepome
Very well put.
It really was a good show, and worthy of all its praise.
but.. he didnt like the dark stuff.
Because he is a big pussy...
Was just about to comment that but you beat me to it lmao
Watch the episode "My Lunch"
mah man!
You know you're old when Scrubs is considered an old show that the current generation is not familiar with.

I think the AMA stated that Scrubs was the most medically accurate.
@@TheKillahKyla Can you find a reference? Because I am sure I remember when it first came out that it was specifically the experience of newly minted doctors that was being claimed to be accurate. House, on the other hand, claimed medical accuracy. At least in the first couple of seasons.
Ur gay

@@SarthorS house is definitely not medically accurate. I used to love it in my first year in medical school, but realised how many mistakes it has couple of years into it.
"It's regular strength Tylenol...get her to open her mouth take a handful and throw it at her, whatever sticks that's the correct dosage"
Dr. Mike: I'm going to be honest and say I've done stuff like this
I took that waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too literally
Electroneum Rich I too had a moment there until he explained himself.
Me too. 😂

It's bar none, the single most underrated and underappreciated show of all time
💯 this is the Best medical show ever made.
My fellow redneck speaking the truth here. For all those reasons and more scrubs is my favorite show of all time.
@@Sdority905 There was M.A.S.H. that came before it. But you have to watch it with the laugh track turned off. Watching it with that stupid "Ha ha ha" added after every line of dialog totally ruins the show.
You have to remember the pilot is almost 20 years old now, so a lot of outdated tropes exist in the show.
Wow, time flies
Thanks for pointing out I'm old. 🤣🤣
Ouch.
This hurt me deeply. I remember when this first aired 😭
Toxicity in my city....
I’d love to see a reaction to the scrubs episode where the old woman decides she’s ready to die, and JD can’t cope with it. Gosh, I didn’t half tear up at that one.
good lord i have gotten older i assume you mean you went full on weeping tissues right. man so did i what it was really sad
I'm just going to leave this reply here, waiting for the video.
Pretty much. 😂
omg one of their best ones.
One of my favorite moments in tv history tbh. I was bawling. No shame here.
one of the best things about Scrubs isn't just how the characters change but also the fact we have other professions at the hospital shown - the accountants the janitors the support staff - people that boost the doctors and nurses as they work. they also aren't just sketches of the character types but they grow as the hospital grows and changes and gives the show the feeling of a small community centered around helping sick people. because that is what a hospital is - a community.
I have much respect for doctors and the strength, patience, and knowledge that they have. I've always said I wouldn't become a doctor but this channel is kind of making me think twice about it.
Fun Fact: JD is based on a real Heart Surgeon (and both are named/nicknamed JD) who was also the primary consultant on the show.
Cool to know this about the show's main character. Thanks
but jd is not a surgeon
Yea he was on the hallway on the series finale as JD walks out of the hospital
ohI didn’t know that 😷👍🏼
For a second I thought you meant JD from heathers
Man, I have re-watched scrubs so many times. So many life lessons you can get from this amazing show.

More of Scrubs, please. Awesome vid.
bujaka41 Watch the "My Lunch" episode of scrubs!
I think one of the reasons this show is considered to be more accurate is because they actually do show the nurses doing more of the bedside care. So many shows have the doctors running around doing the nurses job! xD
Scrubs actually includes the rest of the hospital staff. Lab, respiratory, radiology, nurses. Most shows act like it’s all doctors.
I like the fact they made the show work without a laugh track. Seems easy, but as far as I’m concerned, it was one of the first shows to do it.
Yup. Can't judge a multiple season series based on the pilot episode.
Brew78. All he's doing is judging the pilot episode though.

Scrubs gets WAYYYY better as it goes along. The pilot isn't the best, but the show is honestly one of the best things I have ever seen.
GreysALIASAnatomy this Show was what i grew Up with. Amazing stuff, awesome memories and i think it shaped me in some way or another.
GreysALIASAnatomy so true scrubs is one of my all time favorite shows!!
I agree i am so in love with this show
Completely agree. Aside from that terrible last season of interns, the show is something that has stuck with me for years.
@@GreysALIASAnatomy We don't talk about that...:D
It gets the most praise for getting the personal lives of the doctors down so well
Cory Goodrich also the episode during season 7 when they skip steak night to spend time with a man as he dies
sheepofsatan69 I think it's called my last words
Cory Goodrich thanks for the suggestion
I feel like scrubs is one of those shows that most people think “oh it’s just a comedy” but there is so much emotional impact to each character throughout the show.
The episode where Dr Cox breaks down is one of my favourites
Sooo true!
He's such a hard man that every time he genuinely shows raw emotion, it guts me every time.
A phenomenal actor
i should start it back up again. i stopped watching after like episode 6 cause my free hulu trial ended 😹
That two episode , one with Brandon Fraser and then 3 patients die when how to save a life starts , best 2 episode of out 3
Please do more episodes! The part of scrubs that really makes it worthwhile are the times where patients die and they don't find some miraculous save at the end of the day.
You should do a react video to the 4th episode "My Old Lady"
Alexis Gantous, fantastic episode
Alexis Gantous what's the one that opens with "1/3 patients die" or something and it's following Elliot JD and Turk with 3 different patients? That's a great one
It's "My Old Lady". Great episode from season 1.
"My Lunch" from season 5 is also a good stand alone episode showing the more emotional side of scrubs. It's the one where they find out their transplant patient has rabies and all the donors then catch it.
Timothy Bird, whoa I've watched through this show three times and I didn't realize "my old lady" was the same one as the one with the three patients lol. I'm a terrible fan
This is the only medical themed show I watched and really liked, I still do. Please do more episodes! You gotta watch the whole show. 😊
This episode is over 15 years old.. and pilot episodes tend to be pretty lowest common denominator. I'd be interested in seeing a later episode towards the end of the series, before Zach Braff left.
I would agree w you Erik, any idea which episode you’d like to see reviewed
Just Steer clear of the episodes where doc Cox brothers died and he goes off the deep end 👍that gets pretty dark and hits you right in the feels
There's a great one called 'My Lunch'. They take some licence with it in that all the donor organs go to patients within the same hospital, but otherwise is an episode that would be good to get your opinion on.
He left?
Oh man, it's been so long. I know some episodes are more medically heavy than others, but I can't think of one off hand. TO THE SCRUBS WIKI!
Yeah when you watch later episodes you learn that all the mean spirited characters are actually just putting up a facade and they actually really care about their patients.
I remember an episode where doctor cox has 3 of his patients die on him in the same day and he takes it pretty hard and gets really depressed.
Shows up to work the next day drunk, gets reprimanded and sent home, doesn't come back for quite some time.
S05E20 my lunch, one of the most beautiful and sad episode in all the history of tv show
Yes, he should watch that episode, really gets to the heart of the show.
Only thing about watching that episode specifically is it has less of an impact if you've no investment in the characters.
My grandma and mom have been nurses all their lives and I can tell you, nurses are for real the backbone of hospitals.
Nurses are amazing. Big respect to your mom and grandma!
Yess, you def need to watch more episodes, I feel like this was too short to judge.
Natalie Pool honestly I felt the same, any recommendations or should I just do episode 2?

Natalie Christine yes!
kerpal3 Not everybody. I didn't hate it. I just watched it like a spin off and I liked it very much. I went in knowing it will be totally different.
The show only gets better as it goes along. I would love to see you do other episodes. There are a lot more medical things that they get into, plus some really good lessons learned as well, in regards to emotional and mental challenges that doctors face.
Season 5, episode 20 "my lunch" based on a true story about an organ donor with rabies.. Probably one of the most heartbreaking episodes

He talks about old stereotypes but does he realize how old the show is?? It’s accurate for its time
I think he was saying he'd rather see positives shown than negatives. Which is fine if you just want to push messaging, but I agree that it was accurate then, and still is now. I work in the ER and I tell people all the time that scrubs is the closest medical show in accuracy that I've seen. I haven't seen them all though just as a disclaimer.
He never said it wasn't
He talked about beepers being outdated and the cast have said that before too and since the show some procedures have been changed like he said.......
Colleen Mikesell not only is your comment accurate, but throughout the 8+ seasons it does in fact tackle some negative stereotypes.
The show used the actual John Dorian for the show. It was based around his life as a doctor and was factually accurate for what he actually went through as a doctor.
Thomas Kissinger he literally said they still use beepers today
This show was my favorite coming of age tale. It wasn't just for medical students, the scenarios rang true for my life in the military as well. Now that I'm older I can rewatch this show and remember how awkward some of my life choices were.
"being informed, being knowledgeable, and being smart"
all things that im not ;)
taesthetic Vibe that is how I feel😫
Olha Michalak and taesthetic Vibe I am in the same boat.
I don't feel I'm any of those things either.
Even with a 4 year college degree, when people say "you're a smart guy" I always defer and say well I don't know about that. Wearing glasses seems to make one look smarter?
I don't know.
I try not to think I'm smart as I have so much learning left to do.
Anyway.
But what keeps me in the game is how much cool new stuff I learn every day.
I find, for me, the older I grow, the less I know.
So, I'm always hungry for new knowledge.
And consider keeping this in mind, as it works pretty well for me:
I always think about everything I have learned for that day.
And what keeps me going is this thought:
"If I learned THAT much TODAY?
Just imagine how much I'll learn tomorrow."☺
I feel a bit sad for those that feel they know everything and don't need or want to learn more.
It's not unlike being insane:
if you know you are and admit it?
You're probably not insane.
But, if you ARE insane and DENY that you are?
You are. ☺
(And trust me, I am crazy enough for at LEAST two people.)
People bragging about how good they are at everything, usually are not as good at anything, at least to the level they want everyone to believe they are.

Dreamy folf, bens funeral. The one time he wasn’t wearing his camera.
You should definitely watch more than one episode of this show. It’s got a lot of heart and realistic situations (post-partum depression, grief and loss) but also is comical with some relatable moments.
I suggest watching more Scrubs because it gets funnier and less mean spirited as the series goes along! The “dark” stuff is just related to the characters and it becomes about them and how being a doctor affects their lives and how their personal lives affects their practice, it’s a really great show
i hope he keeps watching the show
Love the video. Loved the show. Scrubs is very "oldschool" humor and J.D just does not grow up. Still wants to be hugged, when he became a chief-resident. It's all about the Janitor in this series, believe me ^^.
Janitor , Kelso, and perry are all hilarious :D
CrazyChickenPenguin dr.Janitor?
I think you mean *Dr.Yan Itor* right?
Kelso, especially in the later seasons was my favorite.
Scrubs was a show I watched as a kid with my dad, I still watch it today cause I like to imagine he's still here with me
Rip bro
I'm sorry for you're lost 🙏 but when you watch it don't cry your dad doesn't what to see his child cry❤
Ow you can't play that card. Everyone's gonna cry after reading.
But the real thing to remember is that he's not there, he's worm food.
I know that feel.
Makes you want to go back in time and enjoy the time you've had together. And whats left are only memories..
Your happiness and energy is contagious. 😊
Ivo Sotirov 0899
As soon as I saw Ted, it made me sad. RIP Sam Lloyd. Gone too soon.
Why am I just finding out about this now?! 😭
He really was a great actor, tbh Ted was my favorite character in the show...he had some of the best lines in the show and he always made me smile.
I love this channel. Never stop doing this!!
Alrighty, let’s do this!
Please do the House episode called Three stories?
Silvio Martins me too! can't help coming back to check out more ♡
Please react to the medical/surgery scenes in Doctor Strange! :)
I love the respect you Always have for nurses 😽 thank you
Don't feel too bad about the stereotyping. This show IS pretty old and if they did decide to reboot it, there'd probably be a lot of changes. It does get better though, this show was my life during my pre-teen/teenage years and it still definitely is.
Gabriel Samuel One of the few shows that I would not mind rewatching
ND G I rewatched the show two times :D
Gabriel Samuel I love Scrubs! I was not a huge fan of the reboot. I did like Dave Franco.
For me it was House MD. I think this video convinced me to start watching Scrubs though.
Lisa L Pfft to me there were only 8 seasons
I’m a nurse. Had to take my partner to the hospital (he’s a paramedic)and we watched a new doctor trying to take blood and put in an IV 🤦🏼♂️😂 he was apologetic to say the least. What’s more funny is I had to tell him it wasn’t in correctly. He called a nurse. We both completely understood
I have no idea what he’s talking about but I’m interested
That's a mood
Alicelf360 hi. Me too
Caitlin My moms a nurse while I’m over here drawing while watching this vid
Scrubs is the kind of show that finds its stride after the first season, once there's more character growth. If you want an episode w/ more humor, try My Half Acre. More heart, My Last Words. More tear jerking, My Lunch/My Fallen Idol. More "There's so many moving parts that I have no idea what to think.", My Musical. Give the show a shot!
the cool thing about the "mean-spirited" doctors in the show is that as the show progresses you see that theyre only sarcastic assholes because theyre trying to save face & keep it together so they can get the job done without being a blubbering mess every 2 seconds
dr cox has a massive breakdown later in the series & its pretty damn powerful because hes usually goofy & sarcastic its a shock seeing him lose it
5:05 You know the show is medically accurate when an actual doctor has a genuine laugh at a sentence that to other people just sounds as random gibberish.
Record..edit and upload
I was just glad I was able to get up and get a cup of coffee
Love this
MAGA merica Oh come on. Most people don't have their lives together. I doubt you do. Not completely, at least.
Miss Aquamarine thanks!
MAGA merica your rage is unneeded and unwanted.
You're way to angry to have your shit together. Obviously you're not an happy individual and I feel sorry for you.
MAGA merica well that escalated quickly
You should watch every single episode of scrubs. It is soooo good!
^^ What he said!
Agree
Yeah... All EIGHT seasons.
Michael Newton I’d say all SEVEN seasons.
I like this guy. He’s the perfect combination of “funny” and “nice”. Surprised he’s not a jerk being that hot and smart
I totally agree that there are certain stigmas that the medical community is attributed with that need to be challenged; however, I think over the course of Scrubs that does happen to an extent. It's also important to remember that this show originally aired in 2001, 17 years ago! The social landscape was very different then!
Came here to say this, but you already did! Thanks for beating me to it. Saved me time. :D
So true! Thanks for saying it.
Eventually a few seasons in, during the opening, the music stops, one of the new characters walks in, and she flips it the right way around and says, "That was backwards, it's been bugging me for years!" My dad freaked out, he was so excited, he was like "Ugh YES I've been saying that forever!"
Also, like I already said, my dad is a doctor and everyone also calls him "Doctor Mike." So while you're basically the perfect man I can't find you attractive because that's all I can think of lol. I still love your videos! Keep doing what you do.
Rachel please forgive me, but my dirty mind immediately made "daddy" jokes😂😂😂😂
So the creators of the show said that they did this on purpose because the doctors are new and can do things wrong and years later this fixed it because they learned more.
"Also, like I already said, my dad is a doctor"
Uh, you said nothing of the sort, lol.
The backwards x-ray was the point of the line, "I'm no Superman".... Get it?
😉
This guy does seem perfect. I need to leave now before I get obsessed and watch every video he ever uploaded.
Thanks for telling us what really goes down being a doctor.
1:22 "medicine is about dealing with people, not disease."
I'd like you to meet Dr. Gregory House...
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love this
In Season 5 of Scrubs, there is an episode called My Lunch.
That was sad too. But My Lunch hit me harder. My eyes were watering just writing my first comment here lol.
I don't remember the my lunch episode.
Untold Stories of the ER please!
SuperVancouverBC YES!!!
And Sex Sent Me To The ER. That show is FUNNY!!!
SuperVancouverBC YESSSS
I've wondered about the pager thing. Thanks for the explanation.
that said, i think they work with longer wavelength that can store more energy and therefore get through different material without loosing too much power.
If you really have to be reachable, pagers work better than cellular for multiple reasons:
1. much better coverage, in many western countries the government has required (often in the past, though some countries maintain it) telecoms to provide universal coverage, specifically for emergency usage when radio contact was not possible.
The scene where Elliot jumps on JD and he's sat on the sofa, that's the set from my wife and kids.
Ikr
Like why is no one talking about this ? 😂
Weird seeing white ppl on that couch 🤣
God bless you
Thankyou!!!
Well... defibrillators do successfully bring back dead people sometimes but yeah.
Please upvote so Dr.Mike can see this comment.
The 2 best episodes of Scrubs are:
+
He needs to do more episodes of Scrubs!
+1 on My Screw Up.
If anyone talk about Scrubs I instantly think of this one!
My last words got me so bad. They legit explain how he is going to die, hours before it happens then he dies and they literally just watch it happen so he won't be alone. Anyone who pins this show as a comedy or focuses on the romantic aspects have obviously not given it any sort of chance
I kind of like that Wizard of Oz one.
Also add in "My Lunch" S05E20, because it relates to a doctors responsibility.
It’s so good to see your smile and your laugher just steals my heart each time! Please do more scrubs episodes so we can watch you laugh 😍
Sonia Ramrakhiani he has one of those smiles that just makes you think "man I wouldn't mind that smile being because of me". Lol
It's so heartwarming and beautiful. I like how he kind of opens his motu a little before he smiles or laughs a little. So adorable.
I absolutely adore scrubs and nothing will ever be able to ruin that for me. One of the best comedies around when I was growing up.
Your channel is amazing, and thank you for making so much incredible content.
I'm living for this series!
Scrubs is definitely a show that has to grow on you. I only got really attached to it by Season 4 or so tbh. I just appreciate the fact that it's creators are actual physicians who get a sense of the hospital dynamic. Skip ahead a couple seasons and the series picks up some real genuine heart
One of my favourite youtube series! I'd say House MD or Offspring next please!
Nita C he did house I think
kartman568 Yeah, but he should do more!
You could have checked his channel btw ;)
kartman568 did he? He might have. It's almost 5 am here and I couldn't remember for sure which ones he hadn't done besides Offspring, which is Australian.
He's already done House :)

Nita C Yes that was 2 week ago I think.
I love how educational your reacts are! I'm genuinely fascinated by medicine and anatomy, even though I'll never get into them as a career. I love learning this stuff. 🥰 Thank you!
Do untold stories of the er
Yes!!!! But alot of people don't get it's a reanactmeant, so it doesn't have the best acting, but it's OK.
I second this!
Yess!!! It is *such* a good show!!! (The acting is a little bad though 😂) I seriously watch it all the time.
I do not know what but I want to check something. Can you help please
Doctor Mike
My favorite episode is when a lady has a high heel stuck to her face saying "Get your germy hands off of me!" And " Get your greasy eyes off of me!". Like, chill lady!
Please please please react to S5E20 My Lunch. Heartbreaking episode and medically very interesting. Probably my favourite episode of any medical TV show.
I cried so much during that episode☹😵
Tears were shed.
Agreed! Probably a ton of medical content to respond to as well
Jill Tracy is a recurring character & as such, a recurring patient. For the true lesson J.D. learns to really sink in, I suggest first viewing:
‘My Nickname’ (S1E10)
‘My Occurrence’ (S1E22)
‘My Fifteen Seconds’(S3E7)
Thing is, it only has real weight if you've followed the show up until that point. You know all of the characters and their situations.
Open her mouth, throw a handful in, whatever sticks, that’s the correct dosage, it’s Tylenol 🤣
Hahahaha that part had me dead
Of course, Tylenol (paracetamol/acetaminophen) isn't totally harmless. In overdose it can cause liver damage, so you need to be aware if the patient is vulnerable in that area. What's sad is people who try to kill themself with this drug, who end up alive but with a destroyed liver that needs treatment for the rest of their life.
I’d really like to see more reactions for scrubs episodes, it may not be the most medically accurate but I think the drama and stories in it are amazing.
