Aaron, you said you can use a 1 1/2 inch belt punch for the tabs, but the tabs on the template measure 1 1/4 inches. Which is the correct size? Thank you for a great template.

I am so jealous of how easily you can get the stamps to take. For whatever reason, the leather I have (from 2 vendors) just really hated to be stamped. Even casing it by submersion and letting it soak in for a day, it still only kinda sorta takes a stamp. The stamp keeps trying to move, or doesn't give a deep set.
    What's your secret???

If you are in the USA, try our Texas Oak leather.

@@makersleathersupply1220 I'll look into them, thanks. Though one of my sides is a 4/5 Oz from Tandy, who I figure should be a pretty reputable brand. (I'm in Chicago so their meatspace store is an hours drive or so.)

On #5 now and people love it! I did one for my son and used my laser to burn the 20 side dice and swords for his D&D friends.

I hit that post with a Phillips screw driver first lightly then use the setter. This help the mushroom and helps it stay centered. That tip works awesome, I now have a press that makes it super easy setting snaps because I hated setting snaps.

I know you were having problems with the auto focus and that probably made it more nerve wrecking since you were on a time crunch. A lot of those cameras and their autofocus systems will catch focus if you put your hand behind the item you are holding close to the lens. Maybe give a try to making sure your hand is directly behind the object you are hoping to focus on.

    Hi Aaron,
I am fairly new to using sewing machines. How do you sew the sides with the snap between the layers? Do you try to get good measurements, and sew with the oil tanned leather up, hoping to have an even stitch line on the veg tan side? Thanks for your great videos!

Great video for a fun project. One question- What size Harness needle is recommended to be used for hand sewing that after you used the stitching iron to make the holes?

Aaron, really enjoyed this video and you have made me think more about how I am going to do napkin holders from now on. Always new ways to move forward when it comes to leatherwork.

as to the tape i use heavy-duty tape for it is easier for me to take off when tooling
great idea with the bite of the screwdriver that would help a lot with the tubular rivet for me I have a hand injury that doesn't work right most of the time
