Oh I meant to add the sponges used for nails it’s also a good idea to tap them over some double sided tap or anything sticky will help take bits off sponge before using them guess u already know this but incase anyone don’t hopefully this helps 🥰🥰
Yes, you’re supposed to leave the base coat sticky. The sticky layer is called the inhibition layer. Base coat is to give the other gel products or nail lacquer something to stick to. So the sticky layer is important.
You did an OUTSTANDING job!! I'm so glad I found your video! I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to ombre with polish. Didn't know it was done with a sponge! Can't wait to try it!!
Nail tech here and yeah you don’t want to wipe the sticky base layer, it helps with adhesion. That’s the reason it has the sticky layer and isn’t tackless. Love your designs and these turned out gorgeous.
the sticky layer of the base coat works as an adhesive for the polish to stick to it. the sticky layer of the polish works as an adhesive for the top coat. It called the Inhibition Layer
Ombres are so simple but so time consuming at the same time I literally had to learn that the hard way but the more you do it the better you get at it and the faster you are able to do it. Anyways I really love how simple is but how elegant the design looks. I really like the rhinestones that your used they are really beautiful. I am really hope that you are doing great, and that your having an excellent day and I hope that you are doing whatever makes you happy
I don’t use a base coat. I don’t feel like it’s necessary and just makes my nails more bulky. Yours don’t look bulky at all but I’ve had my press on business for 6 months and no one has said anything bad about peeling or fading or nothing. And your right on shipping from iGel! I ordered Dec 30 and I’ve not heard back or received an email on processing my order. 😕. Love your channel! 💕Love your work. 💕 Thank you 😊
These nails are perfection ok. Like I love your commitment to your are and the clients. 9-10 coats Val? Seriously you’re the goat. Always learning loads from you. Thanks for the tip about cleaning the rhinestone. It makes perfect sense🤦🏾♀️. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thanks so much for sharing with us. I also love listening to you. I watched another nail Tech last night and they just played music through out the video...... Did not like it because I like for you to tell us what you are doing ♥️
Nah, there's honestly a lot of us that don't care for all this redundant info about the nails which we all know already. Music is quite relaxing, quietness is quite relaxing too.
Thank you for always sharing every tip that you know these tutorials are really helpful for me i love doing press ons but i still not have like a web site but i hope that these is my year 🙏🙏❤️❤️ these sets is gorgeous like always 🥰😘
These r gorgeous 😍 What do u think about using an ombre brush with 2 layers of gel polish?? I ordered one & was hoping to get these kinds of results with it🤔
I have beetles base & top coat. It always looks so dull at the end. Tips on what I could be doing wrong or could you recommend a better brand and or lamp?
Yes babe I leave the sticky layer because it does hel pad here better for sure :) but everyone is different love ❤️ these turned out so dang good girl love them
These are so gorgeous! I love them!💗 I don’t wipe the base coat after curing. I find that the inhibition layer works great underneath gel polish. I used to wipe it since it’s “uncured gel”, and sometimes still do if I get something stuck in it, like a random doggy hair.😂🤣 It works either way.💗
Some gel colors "pull" away free the free edge with certain base gels. Wiping away the inhibition layer can help stop or slow that "pulling", so that you don't have a funky, bare line at the very edge of the nail. I don't see this problem so much anymore, but in the early day of gel polish it was a pain in the butt. I think the products have gotten better and it isn't a big issue now.
I know this is a super old video but in this you mentioned different sizes of rhinestones, you should make a video showing the different sizes and what they can be used for, im new to making press ons and legit you're the only one I have been learning from 😂 I love all of your videos and they have helped me SO much ❤
Girl I guess I need to invest in gel polish because I been doing press ons with acrylic and it's ridiculous lmao. Takes alot longer to do. How do you size your clients for press ons?
Hey love. Thats a great question. Mine definitely shrink up sometimes. Its never to the point where I cant still wear them though. I usually dont size up but every so often Ill size up certain fingers. 🥰
Hi ! No they dont 💞 the layers are so extremely thin that it ends up equaivalating to only about 2 layers of gel polish ☺️ the only time my tips have shrunk is when I use multiple layers of gel and then multiple layers of designs and then add lots gems on top , because then the gem gel really shrinks them/ makes them less flexible for some reason and if you wanted to use acrylic on your press ons definitely size up 💞
Girl I’ve had the hardest time getting the Crystal pixie to adhere without most of it coming off. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for all your help. You’re a gem!
Also, do you like the gelixir white? I like their top coat but im currently searching for a good white so i dont have to do two layers of gel on my frenchies 🙃😂
When you order from igel do you do the VIP skip the line thing for $5? That's what I do and I live in Arizona and I get my package and whatever or whatever I ordered within 5 days??
That’s exactly what I’ve been going through all the comments to find out myself I might have to watch another video to find out because that’s a good question
This video is so helpful and this set is gorgeous 😍😍. I need to keep practicing ombré but I’m so impatient. Do you ever have issues with lint in between layer? How can I combat that ?
Personally, I think your set is better than the original. Yours looks more elegant and classy, plus it flows together with better stone placement. With that amount of stones, you cost went way up - so how did you price these to include extra product and your extra time? It's funny how you say you only used your airbrush for that 1 video. Thats how I found you, I was considering an airbrush machine and found your video and channel. After that video, I was hooked and subscribed... lmao And you haven't used it since... Too Funny!! Great videos as always... 😉
Only reason ppl wipe the base coat is they're doing a drawing on the design or whatever weird stuff they want to do and they don't like the feeling of the stickies lol I'm a nail tech of almost three yrs now but you don't actually wipe the base coat , what I was taught anyways, because it's the entire reason of STICKY. Hence the name no wipe top coat which means it has NO sticky layer so wipe off gel or wipe off base coat is that reason if that makes sense lol love this thank you!!
I’ve never thought to wipe off the tacky layer from base coat. You definitely don’t need to and I would continue to not wipe it. I’ve had better results using base coat first than applying the gel color(s) directly to the nail w/o a base
I loove doing press on's they are so fun and love recreating nail inspo as well.... I love your channel you have great tips and so informative and I love they you leave links to everything you use! Definitely one of my favorite nail channel's 🤨🔥🔥🔥❤ Hope my channel be as successful soon hopefully lol
I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you for tips and help. But, I struggle with foils. I can’t seem to get them to adhere right. But, other than that I love your videos! Keep em coming! ☺️💖👍🏽💅🏼
Makarrt foil gel is the best. Use a gel polish before it, wipe off the tacky layer with your cleanser or alcohol. Apply foil gel and cure it for the full 60 seconds. Apply your foil and using a silicone tool rub over the foil until you see the edges of the foil coming away. Gently lift off and place it down on any little bits that haven’t stuck and rub over them again. With a 180 grit nail file gently etch the full free edge, then apply top coat ensuring you cap the edges. This stops the foil peeling or chipping. ☺️💕. Xx
@@Raven1303x thank you so much doll for the help. I did every step you mentioned except I didn’t wipe off the tacky layer with alcohol. Now I definitely have to give it another try. Lol! Thanks again for the help! Wish me luck! ☺️💖💅🏼

Hey love, I like doing hard gel nails more then acrylic. I’ve noticed that a good quality clear hard gel is always more clear than any clear acrylic.
You did an OUTSTANDING job!! I'm so glad I found your video! I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to ombre with polish. Didn't know it was done with a sponge! Can't wait to try it!!

I love this ombré set. So beautiful!! Any videos on foils? I can’t seem to get them to adhere properly. Help! ☺️💖💅🏼
How do you not get texture when you blend? I get like tiny dot texture while I'm patting with the sponge 🙄😩
This set is so pretty !!! 🤩
Yes, love the bling! Do your rhinestone and crystal video 🥰
the sticky layer of the base coat works as an adhesive for the polish to stick to it. the sticky layer of the polish works as an adhesive for the top coat. It called the Inhibition Layer

these are beautiful. love them!!!!
Creating this for my wedding 💒🥰 love!
You only need to swipe the sticky layer if you get dust in it. You don’t want to wipe away the inhibition layer.

Tap your sponge on a nail form (sticky part) to take any lint off of it before you start. It helps a lot!
So beautiful 😍

Yes !! Gel polish has become my fav!! I have them use a size kit or they measure their nails in millimeters 💞
Love how the nails turned out

Hi cozy cashmere is from igel beauty
Thanks for sharing!
How much did you charge for the ombre? Beautiful set btw
Val, do you have any advice on how to not lose the shape when doing ombres and marbles? I feel like mine look bulky 😔
Yes always use a round brush and make sure you’re cleaning up your sidewalls for every single layer before you cure 💕
If you encapsulate the pixies will not come through the design, the are so beautiful
What are you picking the rhinestones up with.?
Beautiful set, love the ombre 🥰💖
Are you curing after each coat?
That’s exactly what I’ve been going through all the comments to find out myself I might have to watch another video to find out because that’s a good question
Do you get all your press on nails from the same brand ?
This video is so helpful and this set is gorgeous 😍😍. I need to keep practicing ombré but I’m so impatient. Do you ever have issues with lint in between layer? How can I combat that ?
Yes happens a lot ! The only way to prevent is to check each layer before curing 💗 if you see any lint use a tiny thin brush to remove it
Where do you get your crystals from?
Personally, I think your set is better than the original. Yours looks more elegant and classy, plus it flows together with better stone placement. With that amount of stones, you cost went way up - so how did you price these to include extra product and your extra time?

I always wipe because when I didn’t & did a ombre it made it hard to do. It was a sticky mess so i always wipe its just better to do so to me

***soft orange dip powder
😋😋😋
have you thought about investing in a airbrush it halfs the time
Your supposed to not work the tacky layer of the base coat Only the final top coat
Wipe*
Although it looks amazing, this method looks incredibly wasteful compared to the brush methods.
Holy hell that sponge work took a lot of your video time. A lot of redundancy
