What I can say is that I've been listening to Artists perform both live and online again some videos of live performances, some studio/home or otherwise for decades. Too many to admit to I'll age myself but my point being is that I am very finicky about what I will or will not give my time and attention to. You Chrizz deserve all the time and attention. I rarely comment either. This may be my 10th comment in 30 years. I listen to your song more than the original. I think you have exceeded the original. Next, I want to listen to Stephen Stills "Love The One You's with",Chrizz & Sara sing.
Not gonna lie, they were producing that one up a bit with some tracks in the mix. I mean, it was okay, but doesn't even come CLOSE to the original. If you are going to cover a song there are two ways to do it, and only two ways: 1) Cover it exactly as the og. and do it better. An example of this is "I Fought The Law" by the Clash. Or 2) Completely reinvent the song, re-interpret it (and make an improvement or a much needed fresh take). An example of this is "Running Up That Hill" by Placebo. This cover did neither of those two. This is okay for a cruise ship or an afternoon at the coffee house, but not the accolades it is getting here. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
