A supremely funny and charming man. I would loved to have met him. His family can be very proud indeed of all the joy and laughter he brought to many. Mr Dawson I hope you are happy in heaven looking down on your family.
Believe it or not, but it was 30 years this June when Les passed away (In 1993.). _But it only seems like yesterday...!!??_ I'm shocked it was such a long time ago. He was a comic genius who could really play the piano. But to play it as badly as he did, showed us all what a great talent he was. RIP you fantastically funny man.
" She's right up my street, Elaine " that was razor sharp and the audience didn't pick it up. What a beautiful man. I miss the days as well, of jokes, just silly jokes. My wife is a terrible cook, in our house we say Grace after we eat. Nowadays everything old is thrown away. Maybe I'm getting old . Oh, nostalgia, they say it's a thing of the past. Boom Boom.😀😃
He throws them out so quickly the audience cant keep up. I like when he said he only played piano in the brothel to to get rid of the customers. Parky said "You played them out" and he replied "No I broke their rhythm". Only a few in the audience caught that one :)
The adoration that Michael had for great comics just made Les shine even more brightly in this interview which I recall seeing as a child; it was a delight then and it is a delight now.
A Man so ahead of his Time. Talking about the Woke Generation nearly 50 years ago. He would turn in his grave if he seen the state of modern day comedy. (R.I.P)
i heard Twiggy once say he was lovely, polite and kind to all women. once in a bar there was a guy being a bit forceful in getting her attention, Les walked the length of the bar grabbed him by the collar the threw him out the door. Later he amde sure she got a ride home with one of his friends, to make sure she got there safe. the friend told her he had to make sure she went in okay or Les would break his arm. so she rang the pub and spoke to him to reassure him she was hone safe. a true gent.
God bless Les, so missed xxx He wouldn't be allowed on TV now, as so many would be complaining, unfortunately. Most will not get his humour now. Long gone.
Part of my childhood......genuis, miss him, they certainly do not make em like that any more....... not in this woke country we now are unfortunate to live in.......god bless you Les
Jethro went through Covid, but he was a bit more than risqué. The ONLY comedian left for me is Mick Miller. It is indeed a very sad world when good comedians fade away with nobody to replace them. Maybe there is one, she has a monkey, I apologise for not remembering her name. Sorry.
2 legends doing what they loved, and keeping us entertained.
I have cried with laughter a very funny man
Many people don't realise just how good you have to be to play the piano that bad.
I could give Les a run for his money 😂
@@NotJohnUK 🤣
It's not awfully hard. Just play it normally but the right hand a semitone higher so it clashes and sounds off-key.

Mr Dawson I hope you are happy in heaven looking down on your family.
70’s - 90’s we had this type of tv entertainment. These days it’s TOWIE and Kartrashians.
Les dawson

Yes, he was a very funny man. Old School cub entertainer, without the racism and sexism.
{:o:O:}
He’s so brilliant
Absolutely one of the best 👌
My favourite type of comedy satire
When you see the jokers that pass themselves of as comedians compared to this genius

Class, sheer class, RIP LES DAWSON 😊
Les Dawson identified cancel culture before it became a thing. A comedy great.
The adoration that Michael had for great comics just made Les shine even more brightly in this interview which I recall seeing as a child; it was a delight then and it is a delight now.
Les Dawson Loved Him A Genius Very Sadly Missed. RIP Les

Thank you for uploading. Lovely.
“You know you’re not a bad comedian when you play Barnsley, they don’t applaud, they let you live”
His analysis of what is and why is funny is spot on. Reverse tragedy. The media tell us what they want us to fight about.
Back when tv was good !
How far it has fallen , especially in the last 10 years , it’s utterly unwatchable.
Thanks heavens we had Les so so funny ,this is what you called a comedian
I like that the orchrstra are amused by his piano playing
Les Dawson just brilliant and sadly missed none of the comedians we have today are a patch on him

Glorious

We still do
Les' humour was rather clean and he hardly swore in his television acts. He wouldn't be banned.
He would Absolutely still be allowed on tv. He wasn’t vulgar.
The "Fahrt" and "Bustenhalten" jokes really got me.
I do wish I could have experienced the music hall days in England. Must have been a grand time
Genius
Bloody LOVE Sir Les, me fav bit of this is the keyboard player totally losing it at 19.20 Lmfao😂
Brilliant
🤓🥺 I met him with my family behind the building where he was performing, I was so lucky to c him, Don’t remember to much, Just happy I met him 🧐🤬
2024 RIP Legends.
at 20:41, is that James May from top gear ?
Part of my childhood......genuis, miss him, they certainly do not make em like that any more....... not in this woke country we now are unfortunate to live in.......god bless you Les
He 'plays' Parky well. He's a good laugher and LD piles on the gags and unexpected punchlines until Parky can barely stop.
THE 4th Prophet ❤
Just very funny.
Knickers on a prescription, ha ha ha
So Charming. Ya'd miss telly!
Sadly missed les is just a legend simple
@20.03 the lady in the centre of the screen is Michael Parkinson's wife Mary.
still got the autograph you did for me when I was about 9 years old, only realised it is a comic naked woman recently
Great Saturday nights back then ….god it’s shit now .u tube is the winner .
So telling ... Wow wonder what he would think now ... Hmmm
Take.Me.Back.
A great Rob Wilton fan, like Bob Monkhouse was too, but he outshone his mentor.
Jethro went through Covid, but he was a bit more than risqué. The ONLY comedian left for me is Mick Miller. It is indeed a very sad world when good comedians fade away with nobody to replace them. Maybe there is one, she has a monkey, I apologise for not remembering her name. Sorry.
Covid 🤔 what is Covid?
nina conti
@@user-wk7yb7qc5i Not sure really, but I got mine at my local hospital, still have some of the symptoms.
It's Nina Conti very good but drops in a lot of swear words which LD proves here is unnecessary
@@user-wk7yb7qc5i It was a WORLDWIDE pandemic.
A coats lad.. Think he was a blue through a through
Ancoats.. Maybe
Les died in 93 , so this date is very wrong!
Yes but this was rearun in 1996
@@andrewmorton395 that makes sense then. however the title gives the impression that the interview was done in 96
The show was called Parkinson: The Les Dawson Interviews. A compilation of past interviews, as said in the video.
yes i know ‘’interviews’’…being plural..however at the time i just read ‘’interview’’..oversight on my part..but alls well that ends well .@@Arcona
Love Dawson. Hate parkinson
You sad git,Parkinsonism is a legend amongst interviewers 🤐🤐
Parky was a great interviewer, but when Les got hold of him, he was a gibbering wreck
The fakery left I've ever seen
Rubbish...and once I thought he was good😮
You must've had your humour gland removed
Awful so called COMEDIAN 😪😪😪
One of the best
Custer at Bull Run fighting native Americans ......sorry! What?!
She's down my street is Elaine ...no one got that..she digged him.
Genius
