That happened where I live, there was a group funded by an old rich alcoholic and when a Mexican American mother and her son's car broke down near their compound they came out and beat the crap out if them, so the mom sued and won. The compound had to be sold along with everything else to pay them. It was awesome because they never recovered and disbanded.
Hope the mother and son heal from the trauma but I am delighted with how that group ended. Thanks for sharing

Sounds like half of a story. I'm sure they would be in prison as well as broke if that situation played out as is described in the comment. I would also like point out that one instance of something happening doesn't mean it's a systemic problem. Glad they got financial compensation but the sad truth is, if that really happened, I'm sure the families that assaulted them are not any less racist because they lost a court battle. People need to realize that racists of all genders and races, are the most ridiculous people in our world. Hating someone based off the amount of color pigment in their skin is below what even most animals do. We are supposably the "smartest species on the planet" but yet have morons that hate based of color..... ridiculous

I think the information at the very end should be brought up at the beginning and explained. It left a definite sense of wanting to hear more information on his involvement with setting up VICE and his departure. This would be a better setup than a silent disclosure at the very end.

@Ivan Volkov The church is historically black, meaning it was a church that was made specifically for black people to engage in religious practices when they were restricted from other white only religious establishments. The church does not forbid people of other races attending, there just happens to be a large amount of black members (understandably so) so that is what you see. How is any of that possibly racist? Winning a judgement and collecting on a judgement are two different things.
Even if they collect and bankrupt the Proud Boys, the members who aren't getting sued will just make new groups. It's actually uncommon to have hate a hate group as centralized as the Proud Boys. Most modern hate groups are confederacies of chapters that are set up so they can only be sued or prosecuted individually.

His friend never got charged for that, and he hates me for telling him that what he did was wrong. That's why my sociopathically violent older brother's sociopathically violent best friend decided to try to sociopathically intimidate me at my sadly missed atheist stepfathers funeral. Get this, know the part where at funeral homes where people show up to offer condolences? Well, instead of offering condolences, my sociopathic older brother's best friend offered condolences to my brother who was standing next to me wearing his suit, and then he stepped in front of me and while i stood there with my hand held out thinking that he was about to shake my hand like he just did my sociopathic older brother's hand, he decided to not shake my hand, nor say a single word to me, as he stood in front of me looking over my shoulder while i stared into the sociopathic vacancy in his eyes, with tears in mine.
I eventually moved 4 hours away from those right wing easily violent sociopaths, and now i live in the middle of rural nowhere away from my hometown big city that the older brother made it difficult for me to want to live in the basement of my own inherited home that i supposedly had 50/50 ownership of. Besides, my sociopathic older brother did things such as rip me off for years for more than half my parkinsons/ms type disability pension due to a scam he is still running that involves him telling the govt that his girlfriend is only a roomate on paper and has been making an extra 25k per year on top of the 50k he makes while being self employed.
It doesnt seem outlandish to suspect that my sociopathic older brothers violent friend would help him dump the body, or show up at my funeral and say that i went off to a better place, if i reported the fraud my brother is engaged in. We're talking 25k x 15 years, and people have ended up wearing cement shoes or being poisoned for less to prevent victims from turning in sociopathically violent manipulators.
Not everyone has memories of being repeatedly punched in the face in their own bedrooms at age 7 while hearing a repeated whisper telling them to shut up, or having their nose broken in the kitchen without any provocation, i'm one of those who do.

There are no Financial secrets. There is no legal entity to bankrupt. Every chapter in the club is autonomous and has no legal relationship with any other chapter. Also the proud boys did absolutely nothing to that church other than take a sign down that probably cost about $50. There are no damages to sue for.
