    Kudos to Cooler Master for allowing optimal HDD drive locations/options. This U.S. $50 price point and sturdy chassis frame makes this baby a real no brainer or best contender for an HTPC.

    Hey Dmitry, excellent review you got there. I got the case now and planning to install the water cooling system. Is it possible to install push-pull system to the front intake? And did you use the side 120mm fan for intake or exhaust? Thank you..

    Just last night i was looking for a good case alternative to the Corsair 250D and i came across this one I added it to my little wishlist I got when im ready to buy all my parts and thought that as soon as they get the 250D in stock ill remove this but after watching this review im not going too im glad to see a fair amount of additions on such a tiny case I did have reservations about maybe using a 120mm closed loop watercooler for the Kaveri build I wanna do in this but im not anymore!!! thanks guys awesome review

    aesthetic wise i think the prodigy is the winner however built quality wise the cooler master 130 is the winner because corsair 250d flexes when optical drive cage removed and the handles or railing on the top and bottom one again flexes and dose not make the case that stable if the prodigy had a little more of a quality control and had a better layout (like the front panel connection placement) it would be the best itx case !

    This is my favorite because of price, space efficiency, and cable management. I know that there are limited tie downs and such, but the cable management is much worse in other m-ITX cases.

    Hi Dmitry: Great review(s) as always. I say reviews because I watched this one as well as the ones on the 250D, the Prodigy and the 304. First off, I LOVE the fact that 4 major competitors are showcasing excellent ITX enclosures at competitive prices. That a definite win for us as the consumers. Especially when they are all so good it becomes difficult to choose. As for my choices, though difficult, my favorite unit right off the shelf is the CM Elite 130. It requires the least amount of adaptation for component schemes because all the things I want in a system fit nicely just as it is. All I'd need to get are a couple of dust filters. The 130, the Node 304 and the 250 all are very compact. So much so that there's almost no room to mod them creatively IMHO. That's why my VERY close 2nd fav is the Prodigy. Though slightly larger, the modding potentials both for components and for personal style seem vastly superior to me, not to mention the very distinct style it inherently possesses. I can think of a variety of colors and themes I could use to personalize that case that I just couldn't do with the simple 'box' designs represented by it's competitors. Overall, it's really great to be able to pack so much punch in such small gloves that these manufacturers have placed onto the ITX market. Thanks again for some of the best reviews on the net.

    I prefer the look of the Elite 120 but the 130 in terms of building is similarly straightforward to work in. Having worked in the 120 because the size is exactly the same.

    I've got this case. I was able to cram an overclocked Ryzen 7 1700x and a GTX 1070 in it so I could have a portable VR experience. It's a bit heavy when you include the AIO and two hard drives, but I'm definitely satisfied with the cooling performance seeing how there is only one 120mm fan in my configuration.

    I just bough one for the new PC I'm building for my father. He still uses optical drives (he'll be backing up most of is old CD's) and still has one, as well as a 3.5 HDD... so this is the best option to combine all of the above on an ITX Ryzen-based computer.

    I did the EXACT same thing with that optical drive, wanting to remove it, then realized the same thing with rivets... All-in-all, I used the rom bay for holding the extra cables I had. For cable management and getting things attached, I removed the fan blowing towards the CPU until it was all in. I also agree with the hdd sata cables being tight with a bottom mounted drive. I managed to fit a GTX 660 in mine no issues other than having to attach the power cables before installing. I think in the future I am going to do some modding to this case and drill out that rom bay, add better filtering and figure out the cables more.

    For anyone looking at buying this, I have to say... It is an amazing case. I just built a mini gaming PC with one.
    One thing to note is that you will want to put a liquid cooler on it to help isolate some of the heat from the rest of the components. If you do that, you'll have no problem with cooling.

    Damnit! i got 120 for small size- cable management is scary in small boxes due to that final 'shove' you got to do to get the psu in but was able to get it in and put some to the gfx card side. The 130 looks easier but perhaps less sense for air flow. The extra 12cm fan being on the side of the case will blow the air coming from the front away from the MB, out the other side of the case- super cooling the hardrives.
    But the extra fan wall in the 120 is on a wall in the middle of the case to further blow air to the back (like a 2 fan jet) at the MB where your likely to get most of your heating problems. So the 120 its better for its air direction- it just makes things a little more cramped to fit that extra 12cm fan in so close to the psu (i used a Scythe Slip Stream 2000rpm 120mm -half the thickness of most fans). What i would like is to take the front of the 130 and put that on my 120 if that were possible, as the 120 front constricts the front intake. (I run my pc without the front on if i'm gonna do something heavy and swap the front fan with a powerfull aksa fan, its too loud for permant arrangement but it turns the case into a fridge!)

    I'm about to build my first ever build. should I go ITX route with this case or micro-ATX with the CM n200? anyhelp would be appreciated I'm really frustrated

    • @Marco-cl9pb
      @Marco-cl9pb 10 лет назад

      I have exact the same problem with those exact cases lol
      I think the major difference is that the cable management is more difficult/time consuming on the ITX and it's a little more expensive (the case itself, the MB comparing to micro-ATX and the modular PSU comparing to the normal one).
      I'm getting a little on the side of the 130 because it almost half the size but can fit easily all I need (big GPU + max 2 HDD's) and because it's just 2 fans (it doesnt mean it will be hotter because the space to cool is way smaller) it will be more silent too and if you buy just a good 120mm LED fan it will look awesome. ;)

      Solrac Oreca true, if these cases (Eite 110 and 130) weren't so cheap I woud just go for the CM N200 but since the price its almost the same you just need an ITX MB and you get a pretty great "portable" PC for almost the same price as a normal tower form factor one

    • @agoogleuser9025
      @agoogleuser9025 10 лет назад

      Marco Martins Finally someone who gets my point. although I've calculated some maths and I personally saw the N200 windowed in a retail store and I was surprised how small it is, I might actually go for the mATX route and stick to the i5's HD 4600 iGPU for awhile, but again, still frustrated, I don't want to regret things after I bought my build

    Hey so not sure if this will even been seen, being 2023 now this is a fairly old video post. But im totally novice with pc tech and found this box in my Dads stuff after he passed, and he was a big risk player and he was an author, wrote quite a few books, he used this computer dang near day and night 247, he and My mom were at the time really big into conouter building stuff theyde both custome made theyre pc to theyre needs and my moms wasnt anything near the quality of what my Dads was,is idk, and i know that he had money, and he also was a 100% disabled vet, and got tons of awsome VA benifits, that inclueding upgrades for equipment needed for his work, writting, so he was always coming home with pc parts and new computers, even cameras, really cool. Dont get me wrong, he spent i think dang near 15 years fighting the VA for the benifts he finally started receiving, and its not a thing i think many vets understand they can get, off topic sorry...my point here is i know he put a lot of effort and money into his computer, and i know hed of done things to it to make it run the best it could. But since im obvious to whay best, or good is, idk what to look for inside, what exactly im even looking for to be able to identify what the heck this big ol black box is, and what it can do and what it cant. I myself have s dinky little mini chuwi herobox, ide got for my son to learn mimecraft and it does suite his needs just fine,hes 7,so hes not running like servers or anything intensive like that. But what im looking to find out, is if the PC, is worth me investigating and learning, and if its got potential in 2023 for it to become something awsome. I dont have a lot of money, and im hoping this pc can turn into my pc that can do more modern gaming and possibly some photo and graphics design work. Is this a pc worthy of updating and cleaning up? Is it quality in 2023? Or least worth anything, and do you have any tips or knowledge about it that would help me in getting it to be good, for not too much? And what should i be looking for inside the guts of this to know what im working with? Sorry, this probably isnt were i should be asking this, but i just figure mis well ask someine who has or had the identical looking pc, thank you, any advice is very appreciated 😊

      This case is still good nowadays, but if you are a first timer to pc building a larger case might be easier to work with. If you like the challenge, go ahead. The only things that I would say are outdated on this case are the front io and possibly the gpu mounting area since it's a bit cramped (gpu sizes have generally gotten bigger since this video).

    I have the Elite 120 and have a partially modular ATX PSU and a full size optical drive and it is a really tight fit. It looks like this case would have the same problem.
    I took the side fan out but kept the bracket to rest the PSU on and ran some cables though the holes.
    Also I had the same problem with the hole for the standoff on my 120 Elite.

I fit the following inside: i7 6700k CPU, Gigabyte z170n Gaming 5 mobo, intel SSD, 3.5 toshiba drive, CM silent pro M ATX powersupply, Blueray optical drive, an H75 Corsair dual fan radiator, and EVGA 1070 SC. Would it get too hot in that tiny case? I really want it for portability but am still debating between that and the BitFenix Prodigy M. What case should I get? If I get the BitFenix one I will not have to upgrade any of my parts. But the Cooler Master case is smaller and still fits my GPU which is great to see. Any thoughts people?

    • @kunstderfugue
      @kunstderfugue 8 лет назад

      The AIO will cool the processor even if it's overclocked. Bitfenix cases have better aesthetics imo, but the discrete look of the 130 is nothing to complain about.

    I am on a budget and I'm thinking of using this case, although this means I have to go for the more expensive processors, the Intel ones. Still, I need to be able to move my PC and I need room. It can make for a pretty great machine, with a 270x, 8gb of ram and such. :)

      No stock cooler is not alright unless you want a new space heater, get a low profile aftermarket air cooler or water cooler. You will have to do some research on what kinds of all in one's fit in the case because I have no clue. But a stock cooler is a no-go if you want to overclock

    Lets see if you care. I watched all the reviews I could find on this chase, & your's so many times think my wife was going to disown me. Liking what I saw, I got one. Put it together & started CPUID - HWMonitor. This is when I found out you missed a big problem with this chase. My force mp 500 shot up to over 90c. I had to shut down got close to 100c. So I took it all apart & made a vent right under the drive, in the motherboard tray. this got temps down in the 70c range, still hot. Got an NVME cooler, and had to cut a hole for it to stick out the bottom of the chase, ah high 60s, spikes at 71-2 ish. Had you (or any one) had done a bit more testing, & pointed out this, I would have not wasted my time & money on this chase. I do like it, but do not get it if you have a motherboard with mvme under the board. I just ordered an AIR 240. I would rather have changed the motherboard, but the MSI board (only one with top mount) is way more money then changing the chase.

      Look dude this review is from like 4 years ago when NVME wasnt existing in that m.2 formfactor
      Your problem applies to all cases bc your m.2 goes under the mobo tray. Old cases wherent made for m.2 compatibility while newer ones like Manta fron NZXT has a mobo tray cutout that makes instalation of the m.2 and its cooling ez

    I have this case a tower and the Thermaltake Core V1 which I think is a better case if you can live without an optical drive. The case is just too Deep for a cube case which is 16 inches long with a power supply mounted and forget any kind of an after market cooler with the power supply on top of the Motherboard. Meanwhile the Core V1 is just 12 inches deep. The drive mounting positions makes it hard to reach multiple drives with the same power cable.

    The bitfenix prodigy it takes up about the same floor space and can hold more components like fans, hard drives, water cooling blocks .ect

    • @Skooteh
      @Skooteh 10 лет назад +1

      The prodigy is substantially bigger and therefore has more space for those things. If you're going just based off floor space that one guys wall mounted PC is by far best. It had 4 GPUs, 4 hard drives, 4 SSDs and an overclocked, watercooled CPU (gpus as well) and even a dedicated sound card. It takes up exactly 0 space on the floor.
      If youre looking for small floor space, the FTO3 and FTO3 mini from Silverstone are really nice as well.

    favorite realistic itx case: silverstone FTO3 mini
    Runner Up: this(it's just so cheap and efficiently laid out).
    I honestly can't stand "small form factor" cases with as much wasted space as the prodigy or obsidian. If I can get a good matx case that's smaller than your itx case, you're doing it very wrong.
    I actually managed to design an atx case with less internal volume than the prodigy that could fit a 360 rad. That's just stupid, it shouldn't be able to happen. (It still fit full length video cards, PSUS and 4 3.5in drives, up to 12ssds).

    I got this case for my first build ever, and i cannot really recommend it. The CPU cooling is something that you have to keep in mind, the fact that you don't have the best cooling when using this small case, limits you at the end of the day. Either do something slightly bigger than a Mini-Itx build or get the Corsair Air 240 High Airflow case (will likely provide superior temperatures. I have an i5-4590, GTX 970, and don't overclock so it isn't as much as a problem for me as it is for someone with an i7 who wants to overclock.

      Well, imo sometimes stretching the wallet just a bit can provide greater long term value. If i remember correctly the Air 240 also helps a bit with managing dust (albeit not perfectly). In my Elite 130's case, it's pretty dusty despite constantly cleaning the surrounding areas regularly.

    • @Kenchinito2207
      @Kenchinito2207 9 лет назад

      +Silencio I have this case and I totally love it! At first I had cooling problems with my CPU (i5 4690K) even with stock speeds, it would shut down on me, so I had to buy a AIO Water cooler (Cooler Master Seidon 120V 49.99$) and I am OC to 4.7 GHz with 65C Max load temperature. Granted, that is not an amazing number, but when you consider that I'm heavily OC and idle temps go around 35C, I cant really complain.
      This case was made to use AIO. Another note, the way they mount the PSU in this video actually makes the computer hotter. They have to mount it with the fan facing downwards so it draws hot air from the CPU outside the case.
      Oh and I have a R9 290X

    • @TheWolfSaidPoofy
      @TheWolfSaidPoofy 9 лет назад

      Kyon You put that radiator at the front by replacing the fan that came with the 130 right? I think that's how they did it in the Elite 130 installation video.
      Now that there are cold temperatures where i live, the CPU and GPU have been running on temperatures likes 36/28 while idle (i'm using everything stock), and while load, the hottest i've seen the CPU get was when playing GTA 5 and SW Battlefront, hitting the mid 70's.
      Since i was being guided by a supposed computer technician whilst first building it, i didn't think of water cooler because he didn't think it was necessary. Looking back, i would have liked a bigger margin of error, but its worked fine enough i guess.
      As far as i know, mid 70 temperatures are still kind of acceptable and i haven't had any problems.
