    So does it waste a lot of its ink for start up calibration ? Worth me purchasing extra set of inks at beginning?

    • @FotospeedUK

      Hi Diego, so sorry for the late reply i'd have a set of ink on the shelf to stop any down time when a ink cartridge runs out. On start up is will use ink flush the head through but there should still be a lot left for printing, just remember they are small cartridges on the Pro300. Tim

      @@FotospeedUK Thanks Sam I think maybe I'll go for the 1000, at the moment I only need A3 or A3+ so the ink cost and replacement should be better, what are your thoughts? and do you know if there will be any deals to be had online as I cannot get to the show.

    This video was very helpful, thank you. Unfortunately, the setup of this printer on windows 11 was the most frustrating and difficult printer setup I have ever done. Printer says it is connected... windows says it is connected.... setup software says it cant connect. . I had to do every step manually. The online instructions led to several dead ends which were reflected in the setup software. Pro print and layout did not install lightroom and PS plugins, I had to do that manually as well. The printer is working well now, but honestly it took me several hours.

    About to 'invest' in a Canon Pro 300 and I have a stock of Fotospeed satin paper which have been using on my Epson 3880. I don't seem to see a Fotospeed paper profile on the site. Is there an archive where I might find one?

    Should you be using IJ Network for the setup as opposed to Bonjour?
    I ask because I couldn't access "Print Utilities" and certain paper sizes with my Pro-100 using Bonjour on my MBP. Has that changed when using Bonjour on this printer?

    • @FotospeedUK
      @FotospeedUK  3 года назад

      Hi Ray, you can use Bonjour for printing as long as you select the Canon driver under the "USE" section and not the default which is AIRPRINT.

    This is an excellent printer and your videos are extremely helpful. I wonder if you can advise me on one point. I have set the printer up to work wirelessly, but I would now like to change it to USB cable connection but can't figure out how to make the change. • @wchunter100
    @wchunter100 3 года назад +6

    This video shows the user removing the orange tape in various places but reinserting the small plastic orange piece that blocks the head from traveling. I did that, and paid a price. It caused an error message that my packing material was not removed, an error message that I couldn’t get rid of, even with tech support help. It disabled my machine and they had to send me a new one.
    When unpacking your printer for the first time, be sure to take out that little orange plastic piece, and leave it out.

    Could I just ask - How do you monitor whether you will have enough ink for a print & what do you do if the printer runs out during printing.
    If you have enough of a certain ink for, say, 90% of an image - do you have to swap the cartridge for a new one ( & ensure 100% ) & lose that 90%'s worth - I assume that the printer doesn't have the inbuilt ink monitoring of the Pro 1000 ?

    • @FotospeedUK
      @FotospeedUK  3 года назад +2

      Hi - To the best of my knowledge the printer won't let you print if it knows it can't fulfil the ink coverage of that image when you press 'print'. i.e. It would enforce a cartridge change beforehand so it won't stop halfway through. As such you may not use 100% of each cartridge, but 99% usage is better than a print stopping halfway through where you would have wasted other cartridges on a print that would never be realised. - Sam

    ATTENTION. The size/dimensions stated at the unboxing are for the box not the printer. The Canon website gives the dimensions of the printer as (W x D x H) approximately 639mm x 379mm x 200mm.

    • @SamGregoryPhotography
      @SamGregoryPhotography 3 года назад

      @Nev Haycox - Thanks for pointing that out, you're absolutely correct. I would say it's worth considering you need a good amount of space around the printer in reality so it's worth adding a few cm's to the actual printer size to be sure you can plug the power in, access the feeds etc. Thanks for checking out the video - Sam
