Great video. You were 100% right. I swore. I bled. I got the job done in 30 minutes (15mins to remove, beer break, 15mins to reinstall). Used a brand new one from Repco for $139.

Well done thanks , be doing that tomorrow FG XR6 150k km . Have done the BF previous 300k km on the BF. . Plenty of people travelling around the world in those Caddys, diesel usually .
Thanks this helped a lot so I went in prepared. To get to the top bolt I used the socket extension on a knuckle joint. If you get well under the car from behind the passengers side tyre, you can insert the socket from the front with right hand and just feel the bolt head from the other side with your left hand. Otherwise very difficult to locate the socket onto the bolt. Same with putting it back, feel for the hole with left hand. You have to move yourself right back under middle of the car so arms can get into place. Thanks again.
Glad the vid could help. Actually had to do this job again on the same car last month and doing it for the 2nd time certainly was easier. Practice makes quicker in this case 😂

Not sure what the previous one sounded like but this sounded very fast, and when I get my license, I want to find a BA Falcon, I’ve heard such good about them, and they look amazing.
Im tackling this job today..I have a BA XR6 and I have tried a hundred times to get to that top bolt. My hands are already covered in cuts and bruises from working on the vehicle, and being a girl I definitely WONT be getting asked to do any nail ads for tv anytime soon...haha. Knowing now that it is NOT an easy job I will swear Im sure, but if you can get that damn nut off without a hoist I can..neighbours are used to hearing me randomly scream out 'F******' and hear tools being thrown around the shed immediately afterwards (throwing my injector clips was NOT smart, only found 4). Sigh...the fun begins after this coffee..cheers, sub added.
@@FordMercGuy 4 hours in Ive got the new one in and have had to come inside to calm down because I cannot for the life of me get the 2 connections back on. The issue with these starters, guys, is there are 3 different amounts of teeth on the starter. One has 13 teeth, one has 14 teeth, the final has 15 teeth. You must make sure you get exactly the same starter as the one you pulled off. If you dont match the same number of teeth, you will damage the teeth on the ring gear, causing a MASSIVE amount of cost and work to take out the gearbox and change the ring gear (and the starter to the correct one, which you shouldve done in the first place).
