Loved watching this video, great setup! I can't decide whether I will go with the Pelican 1510 or the Nanuk 935, lol. Keep on creating such great content!
Thank you! I got some more content in the works which I'm excited to share. As someone who owns both the 1510 and the 935, here's what I think: If you're carrying bigger equipment like cinema cameras, then I think the 1510 is better because of the little bit of extra depth you get. If you're shooting mirrorless and dslrs, the 935 would work great. The 935 FEELS more like a "premium" product to me! For some, it may come down to price and whoever is running a better sale at the time. I managed to get the 935 with the padded dividers when it was one of the featured deals on B&H and it came out to be half the price of what I paid for my 1510 with the pick n pluck foam!
Aw man, I totally missed responding to your comment! Sorry I'm getting back to you so late, but thanks for watching and sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed the little story about my dad haha!
Not gonna lie, I bought this exact case w/ the lid organizer on an amazon impulse about 20 minutes ago, and said to myself "shit...I hope it fits everything I need it to." and your video showed me that it will! Awesome work man.
I really enjoyed your video so much that I have placed in my order for the red Nanuk 935 with lid organizer from B&H for my two DJI pocket 2 cameras, DJI action camera, and extra parts.
Thanks for this video! I ended up buying the Nanuk instead of the Pelican.. between the smaller upgrades like wheels and better handle, the lid organizer shines big time.
I just picked up a Nanuk 915 for my DJI Air 2S and love the case so much, I just want their entire range. I can't afford that 😅 so the 935 is next on the list for my cameras.
Nice! I really do love the feel of my Nanuk 935 and wish I could put everything I own in Nanuk cases haha. What are you planning to put into your 935 if you get one?
@@itsalexoh Haha yeah I can see them being addicting, they're really handy. I'll be putting my GH5, D90 and all my other camera gear in it, like yourself 😊
Nice review Alex. Is the inside of the laptop compartment soft/padded enough that you don't need it in a sleeve which presumably would be too bulky anyway? Is there any chance of the fixing screws scratching your laptop or are they sufficiently sunk?
I haven't had any worries about the screws scratching my laptop because they're off to the side and the laptop compartment sinks in for your laptop to fit in there. Hard to put into words, but I would definitely recommend a sleeve or even a case if you want a snug fit!
Yo Bryce!!! Fancy backpack sounds nice, but B&H is running a sale on the whole thing (case, padded dividers, lid organizer) for $199 LOL, I'm constantly checking their deal zone and the timing of your comment and the deal they have today is perfect. Thinking about getting this case but I’m torn between a big camera backpack or the case . I shoot weddings and it’d be nice to roll gear around but having a backpack frees up my hands for carrying other stuff
Thanks for watching Marc! In my experience on shoots where I might need 2-3 camera setups, I've found it great to have both a backpack and a rolling case for transporting gear. In my experience, a large camera backpack loaded with cameras, lenses, and accessories gets heavy enough that would put a big strain on my back and legs if I wore it all day on a wedding shoot.
I started out with a backpack. Now i use the nanuk case and load everything in a beach wagon. And if you need a backpack, throw it in the wagon as well
Great video! I’m looking at one of these cases to fit all of my aerial Photography / Videography gear in. Would be great to fit everything in one case rather than 2/3 separate cases. Once again great video, I’m sold!
Thanks so much! If you are running a smaller drone, I think the 935 would be a great case. After doing these videos, I’m definitely looking at a bigger case now to be able to fit some more accessories. Let me know what you ultimately decide on! I’d love to know! :)
Love these videos man 💛 it’s funny because I’ve actually been looking into getting a hard case recently. Your reviews are making me want to look into the Nanuk 935 & the lid organizer now haha
yoooooo thanks Dae-sun! I think the 935 is the perfect size for photographers and if you're not in a rush to buy one, sometimes they go on sale at B&H/Adorama and you can get a great deal on them!
Hey Claudia! Thanks for watching. My cinema cameras won't fit the 935 in orientation to have a lens attached because the case isn't deep enough. It is definitely something to consider if you're shooting on cameras like the Canon cinema line. For mirrorless cameras, it would totally be okay o leave a lens on the body. All that said, I think the Nanuk 935 is the perfect choice for mirrorless and DSLR shooters!
Thanks so much for sharing! Glad I could help you in your decision! I know Nanuk makes one with a foam cutout that holds like 6 lenses, so maybe check that one out! :)
Looks like the empty space in the laptop pocket isn’t good for the laptop, it would be moving around the pocket during transportation right? Especially if it’s dropped
Good point that you brought up! I haven’t noticed any issues so far. The little Velcro strap seems to keep the pocket tight enough so my laptop stays in place for the most part. Maybe I’ll have to do a more specific test! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Awesome! What's in your kit? The lid organizer was so nice and easy to install! I also appreciate that the Nanuk lid organizer doesn't have holes like some of the third party mesh ones I've seen on Amazon and Etsy
Thanks for sharing your Nanuk impressions. BTW, thanks for taking the time to put some very pleasing studio lightings in your videos. That kick light behind you really works for me. Would you happen to have any recommendation on a larger or storage case? I am looking for both a carry-on as well as home-storage sized cases.
thank you for the kind words. I have to give credit to my good friend Alan Chung who collaborates with me when it comes to lighting and shooting these videos! I've really enjoyed using the RGB light panel behind me to create a colored gradient, so I'm glad you took notice! When it comes to carry-on cases, the Pelican 1510 will fit more! If you're looking for something bigger that doesn't have to be carried on, take a look at the Nanuk 950 or 960 or the Pelican 1560 or 1610. All depends if you're looking for something a little bigger than the 935 or a decent amount bigger than the 935! I'd love to know what you ultimately decide with, so feel free to comment back if something works out for you!
I jist impulse purchased one because was way less expensive, had organizer and had dividers. Hopig it fits my fx3 ans a slew of lens and batteries including a vmount. LCD screen etc. Basically as much as i can fit in. My chargers except camera will go in suitcase checked. 🤞 Watching now to see how much you fit in. And its for carry on for a flight next week so needed it quick. Hope it is allowed but having so many lipos, they wont check it anyway.
Thanks for checking it out! I definitely need to make an updated video, but I now use my 935 with my Sony A7IV with Tamron 17-28, 28-75, 7” monitor, rode wireless pros in a charging case, vmount, extra batteries, charger, and still have enough space for another lens or 2nd body! ☺️
@@itsalexoh sounds like I made a decent choice on it then. Comes Wednesday. Can't wait to see how much I can fit. Only one I'm hesitant is my Sony PZ 18-105 lens. But can always leave that behind this trip. But have the sony 16-25 and 24-70 G zooms. Maybe 5 or so fast 50mms, few super old vintage 100mm (tiny tho, 33mm adapter mount). Plus the ninja ultra and connect. All the needed batteries. Luckily the fx3 is I think tiny bit has cage, and side handles, and top handles, also one with mic mount that comes with it. Luckily I'll also have my backpack as personal item. Obviously clothes and some chargers will get checked. At least I'm not taking all my fpv drones this trip. TSA loves when I roll through with a dozen 4S and 6S lipo's.
Thank you! It's super encouraging to hear those words. I'm definitely working on a couple other projects right now from vlogs to music videos. Also, I see you're hanging out in Highland Park from your recent beat video. Maybe if you're down, let's do a collab? 🙂
I have 6 nanuk cases- luv them! I like there different colors so i can grab the right case at a glance- only con is the pickNpluck method has alot to be desired- be great if they had a system like pelican trekpak
6 cases?! I got to get on your level Kurt haha! I definitely think when it comes to looks and color options, I think the Nanuk cases win there ;) Also, I totally agree about the pick-n-pluck foam products. I had that in my Pelican 1510 and was NOT a fan. Maybe as Nanuk grows in popularity, we'll get to see Trekpak systems come out... or maybe an entrepreneurial opportunity?
I hope I’m understanding your question correctly, but in the little organizer, no, you can’t move around the compartments. In the case where the padded dividers are, those ones can be moved around!
If you don't need it right away, keep an eye out for a deal on the one you want. A little patience can lead to some big savings! In my other video, I showed how I got the Nanuk 935 on sale at B&H. I think it's worth the wait!
Hey Yousef, I’m unfamiliar with Nikon equipment so I’m sorry to say that I can’t be of more help there! It can fit a Canon 70-200mm for sure and I’ve even seen another dude fit the Canon 300mm in his 935, so hope that helps in some way!
Hey lewie! Thanks for watching! I don't have an exact count, but it does get decently heavy. It's not so much that I struggle to carry it, but moving it around all day long can get burdensome. In my experience, I usually have a secure area for on-site shoots where I can bring all my gear and leave so I don't have to move the case around all day long. Having the organizer has been so nice though. I've lost so many wall chargers and little accessories in the past when I used to carry my gear in like two different bags/backpacks.
I just got this, and I was really shocked by how heavy it was empty - Wow! I don't know what the weight is, but it must be almost 20 lbs. I'm scared to see what it will weigh when I fill it up. Good thing it has wheels.
Hey there! It looks like B&H lists it at about 11.6lb, but I get you... it definitely isn't a "light" case. If you're looking for hardshell cases that are lighter, the Pelican Air travel cases might be worth checking out. By the way, it's super cool to see some views from the cockpit!
Thanks for this great video! Been waiting for it since I saw your first one. You seem to have a lot if gear so wondering why you didn’t consider the 938 or a bigger one? Was it because of the carry on restrictions?
Hey Halik, thanks for watching. It makes me so grateful to hear that you came back to watch the follow up video! The ability to carry on the 935 on flights was definitely a big factor, as I already had some plans to fly later this year for gigs... but to be totally honest, the Nanuk 935 was smaller than I expected! Many people were comparing the 935 to the 1510, but the 935 definitely doesn't have as much depth. The 935 would've worked great if I was shooting with smaller mirrorless cameras, but I have bulkier gear like the C100 and the full frame lenses. I'll definitely have to look into the 955 or possibly even the 965. I've had my C100 since 2014 and it may be time to upgrade in the next year or two. I'll have to wait until what my next setup will be and do more research then!
I have a C100 and have been looking for a case for it, so this video was perfect! Question - would you be able to fit the C100 in there vertically instead of lying down?
so I lay my C100 down in two different orientations. One where the body cap faces up (like how I have it in the video) and then another where all the buttons on the left side of the body faces up! If you have it oriented with the shoe mount facing up, the case will not close!
It's hard because they're both well made cases. You can't go wrong with either one. From my experience of owning both, I feel like I get a little more space out of my 1510, but the 935 feels a lot more sturdy when I travel around with it!
The Nanuk 935 is NOT lighter than the Pelican 1535. I could definitely tell the difference when comparing my 935 to my friend Alan's 1535 air case. If you're interested in learning more about that case, Alan has a review on the 1535 Air that I've left in the description!
I really do like that lid organizer. Wish I could get something that’s good for the pelican cases to. I have six pelican cases and some lid organizers turn off bad but I’m not quite as good. Maybe a Nanuk should make lid organizers for pelican cases they would make extra revenue appealing to people who owned pelican cases and piss pelican off at the same time lol
I totally get what you mean. I haven't really been able to find anything for my Pelican 1510 either, but they do have the nice trekpak system going for them. I guess we have to pick and choose our battles LOL
@@itsalexoh Lmao, not really. You can DIY the Trekpak for ~40$. You just need Black Correx Plastic sheets, self-adhesive 2mm or 3mm foam and some hairpins to clamp the plastic sheets together. It took me about 2 hours to do it myself.
I have to agree with that. My Nanuk FEELS sturdier than the Pelican! Both products have done a great job protecting my equipment so far, but the Nanuk just feels more premium than the Pelican!
the sizes of these pockets are so much more useful than on the 925 lid organiser, which seem absolutely useless for my own needs, all very narrow and quite long instead of the sizes on your 935 organiser
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your feedback on the 925 lid organizer! I've only seen it in photos, but I can tell what you mean. I definitely like the size of the 935 organizer pockets, especially the bigger one on the left!
haha thanks Carlos! I hope you found the video informative! Let me know if you have any suggestions on what I could've done better or what kind of content I should produce more of!
Hey Yuri, what I am getting from your comment is the sense that you're upset that someone like me who used the word "like" excessively called himself a creative director. I'll make a note to myself since it's the first time someone commented about it on my channel. I'm aware I'm not a great speaker and even less so in front of a camera with a time limit. With that said, I don't agree with you. For those who see your comment on my video, I hope they know that they can still pursue being creative directors and be great at it, even if they aren't great at speaking.
Thanks for watching! I haven’t tried so I wouldn’t know, but with how tailored the lid organizer is to the Nanuk 935, I’m not confident it would work out!
Loved watching this video, great setup! I can't decide whether I will go with the Pelican 1510 or the Nanuk 935, lol. Keep on creating such great content!

goodluck bro , im really not sure what to buy the 935 or pelcan 1510
It's hard because they're both well made cases. You can't go wrong with either one. From my experience of owning both, I feel like I get a little more space out of my 1510, but the 935 feels a lot more sturdy when I travel around with it!
Nice!
Is the Nanuk lighter than the pelican 1535 air ?
The Nanuk 935 is NOT lighter than the Pelican 1535. I could definitely tell the difference when comparing my 935 to my friend Alan's 1535 air case. If you're interested in learning more about that case, Alan has a review on the 1535 Air that I've left in the description!
@@itsalexoh which one is better? Pelican air 1535 or Nanuk 935?
@@BodOw69 I don’t own the air 1535 myself to be able to make a call on which one I think would be better. Sorry I’m not of much help there! 😅
Yooo I'm in HB, not sure how I came across but I'm glad I did!
Thanks for being here! I hope you found my content helpful or engaging. Would love to know what kind of content you’d like to see more of!
Sound effects, WHOOOSH 😂
Haha it’s in the small details!!!
Can it fit a Ursa Mini G2?
Hey Josh, I'm not sure as I haven't worked with that specific camera! Sorry I'm not of much help there
I really do like that lid organizer.
Thats a great case i woulder if a gimbal will fit with everything else
The nanuk cases are better made then pelican. I have a pelican 1615 tho
I have to agree with that. My Nanuk FEELS sturdier than the Pelican! Both products have done a great job protecting my equipment so far, but the Nanuk just feels more premium than the Pelican!
Bro I'm back kill. That's awesome they reached out to you @itsalexoh
the sizes of these pockets are so much more useful than on the 925 lid organiser, which seem absolutely useless for my own needs, all very narrow and quite long instead of the sizes on your 935 organiser
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your feedback on the 925 lid organizer! I've only seen it in photos, but I can tell what you mean. I definitely like the size of the 935 organizer pockets, especially the bigger one on the left!
@@itsalexoh also only seen it in photos and will not buy it as the layout of those pockets is just pointless for my use unfortunately. Bad design!
Just got this too! Coming this week! Should be a great addition to my 1510. If you're ever in the Bay Area, hit me up! Let's collab!
Let me know how you like it and how it fits your needs. We should connect on Instagram or even Discord, if you're on there! I'd love to collab!
I gonna buy one of this
it right noooow!!!
Let’s gooooo!!!
shut up and take my money! haha, very good, congratulations!
haha thanks Carlos! I hope you found the video informative! Let me know if you have any suggestions on what I could've done better or what kind of content I should produce more of!
what a "little ripper", certainly give the asmr croud a run for the money, all that velcro!!!
screw the screws back in the handle :p
Such a simple solution! Thanks for the suggestion!
Two words..Trekpack!
For someone who is creative director your overuse of the word “like” is just horrendous. My 15 year old daughter speaks like that.
For those who see your comment on my video, I hope they know that they can still pursue being creative directors and be great at it, even if they aren't great at speaking.
can this be modded to fit the pelican 1535 air?
Thanks for watching! I haven’t tried so I wouldn’t know, but with how tailored the lid organizer is to the Nanuk 935, I’m not confident it would work out!
