I wasn't sure until recently what I liked the most, after retiring my DH22/34 Michelin combo I tried the DHR2 & the much praised assegai in front with a dd 3c dissector in the rear. I'm back on Michelin's molasse... That magix grip is so worth it in Canadian slippery slopes 😅
Any thoughts on the Dissector as a rear w/the Assegai up front? I've been running this combo in VT mid season (swap Dissector w/DHR II on rear spring and fall when it's wetter). Thanks for the video!
The Dissector is great and rolls faster, like you said, definitely a bit better when things are drier. I really enjoyed it on the hardpack in Colorado, but around here when things get dry you get this deep dust and the DHRII still wins out for me.
Great video. I just replaced the rear DHR II EXO+ that came with my Sentinel. It's the same compound and grip, but it's EXO casing. On the first ride I hit my regular trails and nearly washed out twice on berms I've ridden many times. I definitely felt a bit of squirm can't recall ever feeling something like that it in all the miles on my previous tire. Could it really be the casing causing that? PNW trails btw.
Almost certainly the casing. Especially from EXO to EXO+ the added material in the sidewall makes a big difference. A little higher tire pressure may help.
Serious question: what kind of casing would i want to use when i go for rides that start at sea level but end at ~2000 ft? I usually start my rides at roughly 23.43 psi in the front and around 28.12 in the back, but stop to remove pressure as i ascend to counteract atmospheric pressure. I'd love a tire where i can make it at least 500 feet without needing to do this, especially on the descents its very annoying. Of course i also change pressures for each feature individually but no way around that one for now haha
I’m definitely running a bit higher than some, right around 30psi in the rear and 25psi in the front, a little more if I’m riding a lot of jumps or bigger features.

Agreed, but I do need to check out those Michelin tires

@@NICADV I used your link to pick up a discounted EXO+ and it rides much better. Luckily I recouped some cost on the EXO selling it on marketplace.
@@ovtj thanks dude, good to hear you got some $ back. Enjoy!
Does Maxxis have a tire that would add stability to light trails?
It depends on your terrain, but if you’re riding “light” terrain you could probably get away with the EXO+ casing front and rear.

🤦🏻♂️
@@NICADV you can imagine how temp changes really make my life complicated too
Just curious what kind of Tire pressure you run with your current tire setup for your area?
