@@mappybc6097 almost all optimized combos in fighting games you die in two hits. Mortal Kombat, Granblue, Melty blood, Dbfz, guilty gear. Dnf duel just has more combo freedom and more broken BS. Many broken fighting games fall into their own beloved genre. Take UMvC3, games broken to all hell yet is one of the most popular fighting games of all time. Could even argue DBFZ, especially after the recent updates, they buffed every character and the game mechanics until everything's brokenly balanced. Still massively popular despite still not having rollback.

In the latter is back to neutral after each character dies. It's not comparable to get hit once by a random hit anywhere on the screen then having to guess for game. And you'll excuse for calling bs, I've watched tons of melty blood on Will it Kill and mofos always survive with one pixel. GG and MK, I can't really comment cause I don't play or watch those games. Tekken has some bs 80%+ combos, but they require hard af set-ups that you'll land once in a blue moon during an actual match. In DNF is every fight that someone is dying in 2 hits.

I really want to like this game and want it to do well, but the pacing of the game is not it for me. 3-5 mistakes per round works for a fast paced game, but some of these characters really push it and the matches last weirdly long due to the length of combos and pressure. Ideally I think it should be closer to 4-7 mistakes depending on the character, but again, pressure and combos are way too long. I understand that's an anime fighter thing, but it's outdated design that even Guilty Gear has mostly moved away from in spite of the fact they already had a sweet spot in combo/pressure and match pacing in Xrd. Long combos/pressure is honestly not that fun to watch (or play, but that's more my opinion specifically). Characters will spend a solid 15-20seconds eating a combo and/or blocking in a corner before they can do anything. Not asking for combos to be like 3-6 moves only, but they could stand to cut a lot of the fluff. Match flow and pacing more similar to GGXRD REV2 would be great. Idk wtf I'm talking about though, I'm more or less casual and only really ever played SC and Tekken. Not even a 2d fighter player, I might just be talking out my butt.
well developer is both arcys and eighting, you will expect eighting combo design in this game, I prefer more neutral game that why I prefer GBVS over DNF, GBVS is closer to street fighter with arcys anime graphic

People picking it up when it came out, but with SF6 and other more established games coming out not long after, folks dropped it for the new hotness. It's one of my favorite fighting games, but since no one ever plays it I don't really play online anymore.

Is there any neutral played in this game or is it just a MvC without the tag teams? There doesn't seem to be tools in the mechanics to force the game back into a neutral state. It's all rushdown all the time.
I like to think of the game as “fullscreen footsies” its not that the neutral isnt there, it just takes place on such a huge amount of the screen that it doesnt resemble what people typically think neutral looks like. You see alot of neutral if you’re looking for it
My last experience trying online when Spectre launched I couldn't find any matches at all, online felt very dead. I think if you join discords you'll probably be able to organise games with people, but trying to play casually by yourself seems rough. If you live in Japan or Korea it's probably not as bad though, slightly more active there.

@@kogascool Bro it’s normal for Berserker because he literally kills himself in the process. That’s not how most other characters work. Try watching all the matches and let me know how many 2 touches happen, even characters with strong 2 touch potential like inquisitor wasn’t getting that many if any 2 touches. The ambiguity of 2 touch goes even further because this is a chip damage game. You can deal way more damage in chip than actually hitting someone depending on the character. A lot of these matches are a lot of patience and neutral until they can get the ball rolling. If the damage was lower there would be way too many timeouts happening because the gameplay pacing would be too slow.
Not gonna lie.... this was fire.
Also, gotta say DNF is still one of the prettiest Arcsys games. Everything looks so vibrant

That's what makes it good imo. It's like umvc3 in terms of pressure and combos. I also like usf4 but that's more setplay involved

Neutral is played, it just very unforgiving since momentum is super strong so it's usually one hit leads to offense which leads to game.

i find matches under 30 seconds, usually under 10 seconds at Terranite 3. I would find matches under 5 seconds from Bronze 1 all the way to Diamond 1

The game has had couple of changes and the first patch they did they nerfed tf outta Swiftmaster so Hitman was the big bad for a while.
swift was gutted after the first major patch. The other patch where they buffed every character, swift didnt get too much sauce.
