I have the note 9 since last November and I thoroughly agree with you on all counts. The Note 9 is a humble beast in my opinion. Not flashy. Nothing extra ordinary in itself. It just has a ton of features most phones won’t ever have. It has no lag after all these months and has not failed me a single time. Performs excellently on land or in water! Yes I tried that too! I have shot videos, done presentations on it and grabbed awesome pics on it. I use the S pen quite a lot too for brainstorming sessions or plain reminders to pin on the home screen. The best phone I’ve ever owned and I’ve had quite a few. A true flagship. It has held it’s own till the new successor around the corner... the note 10. Thank you note 9!

I got the 512G version for extra on board storage and the 8G RAM. Using an Otterbox Defender Pro case in a Niteize Clip Cargo XXL hardshell belt holster, because the Otterbox belt clip is only good for a table stand. It's fragile and bulky, and my phone would fall out easily, often. I have a good screen protector, that is only $20 but similar to most of the others, except the only problem is the adhesive after a few months, keros falling off, so, will upgrade to a Dome, Otterbox or Zagg Invisible Shield soon. This is my best phone yet, and I haven't even tapped all of its potential, especially taking more pics here in Honolulu around the island. I probably will not upgrade to the Note 10 next time around, when my battery goes. I will probably get another new Note 9 like this at much less than the $1200 for this one. It's nice to have the microSD expansion, but only for photos, videos and other things, as apps don't seem to work if not on the main storage. And I like to have lots of apps. I didn't like Samsung before, but the got a lot better and had the best of everything I wanted on a mainstream phone, with lots of support and accessories available. I previously had the Pixel as explained, and didn't really care for LG when they switched from HTC, and had all the Motorola Droud before that because the iPhones lacked everytime in several areas, like RAM, battery, ruggedness and more, and I had a trusty Motorola e815 flip phone with an extended battery that lasted forever, and have been using Motorola two way radios for years, and even had their top of the line CB radio long ago. Except for a few other phones that are notable as widely available or supported, and works on all carriers, it's hard to beat Samsung's recent offerings. I just ordered a 256G S10e for my sister, since her phone battery is dying. That phone is faster than mine, and not as small screen as I thought, and is perfect if you don't need the extra features in the S10/+
Rating note 9 as 11/10. It is a complete package. Using 512 version. Flawless. Camera works superb and video recording which i use for my recoding daughter's movements. I m making memories which are crystal clear. Love the whole note 9 unconditionally. Keep it up girl, your videos r good. Regards and love from India Sagar.
Up to this day, still love mi note 9. I've had it customize whit kwgt, Nova Launcher and it looks amazing. Also no lag and battery still lasts all day long.
I have been using the Galaxy Notes series since the Note 3, now owning the Note 9. Looking forward to upgrade to Note 10 Plus or rather the Galaxy Note Fold. Galaxy Notes have help me, even my staff and most people in the office and businesses, in doing my daily office work. With Galaxy Note, we can sign on the doc just like signing on hard copy, can sketch, can write like a pen on a sketch or note book. Safe the time, while I don’t have to ask my PA to print out the doc on papers signing on hard copy. It’s basically paperless. I don’t carry my laptop anymore as all my office works are done in my Galaxy Note, it’s really really awesome. Galaxy Note is the most superior compared to devices produced by its competitors, even the latest iPhone devices can’t match. Once I completed my work in a doc, I can just sign it, then email it to whoever I want instantly. I can do that anywhere. Thanks Samsung being the only manufacturer that produce mobile devices with the Stylus Pen. You make our live easier, people like us, who type and write extensively on office documents while always on the go. Anyway, don’t ever create mobile devices with the flip or pop up selfie camera as another external component, that will not last. It defeated the purpose of having a fully waterproof devices. It’s better to have a notch or punch hole as selfie camera to allow the device without bezel. Hopefully, your future device will be a Galaxy Fold with an S Pen, or rather it is called Galaxy Note Fold, I am delighted to own it hihi.
I've had mine since November. I still love it. Also I haven't noticed any lag. I wish I was more business savvy, to find a use for the s-pen. I take some notes and color in a coloring book. Besides that, I never use it I give the Note 9 a 8 out if 10.
Omg good on Thao for only using little memory. Then there's me has a base storage of 64GB on my S9 and have a 256Gb memory card. As of right now I have 79GB free altogether. I take too many photos and videos of foods and things I find interesting.
I just got my note 9 a week ago and it's fast never lags and i am a heavy user and the battery lives up to the expectation i got the SM-N960F model dual sim 128GB, love your videos❤
Watching on my Note 9! This is still a beast of a phone! I won't be upgrading any time soon since my Note 9 can still do the job well. Battery has aged well, too. So, kudos Samsung! And you too, Thao! This is a very interesting video. Thanks for your insight!
When I first got the Note 9 a few months ago, I was worried I'd made the wrong decision. I had just come from a Pixel 2 and it felt like Samsung's apps were fighting me and Google for attention. I also felt overwhelmed by all the Note's features. However all I needed was some time... I had iPhones before the Pixel so I'd not really experienced a phone before that didn't fit me right out of the box. Now that I've had time to set things up the way I wanted and learn its features, I absolutely LOVE THIS PHONE. Your videos have been a massive help, and I even recommended them to my sister who just got an S10+ :)
@Siha Mul actually, I didn't, I have no interest in I phones whatsoever. The reason I don't care about it is I don't use it, I understand there are people who do though, but eventually all phones will drop it, what you going to do then?
I rate this phone a 10. I got it right after it came out and put it to a few tests in which it passed with flying colors. 2 weeks ago I bought a Note 10 and was gonna switch from the Note 9. The Note 10 failed and froze up on me. I switched back to the Note 9 and never looked back
I don't speak english but thanks for the video. I have a note 9 android Pie One Ui. It is excellent. Perfect for me. I am subscribed to your channel. Like... Hugs ... (Google Translate)
I'm watching this video from RUclips Recommend to help make my final decision between getting the Samsung Galaxy S10+ or Galaxy Note 9 (I was a bit disappointed with the Note 10 features). So far, you went over the phone's features and your experience and I must say, I'm impressed how you thoroughly explained everything. Consequently, I have made my final decision of getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 two months from now (Colors are either Ocean Blue or Cloud Silver). Thank you! FYI, you just gained a new subscriber to your channel :), 'til then!
Great video. I love the note 9. I was with I phone from the day it launched in 2007 to 2018. I went out on a limb and got the note 9. I couldn't be happier. I love how I can. Customize this phone. The camera is also awesome
I'm using the Galaxy 10e and I was really surprised how compact and really good even though for the small size it does the job good battery life it has
Better battery, bigger screen, faster charging, better camera, no Bixby button, better compatibility with PCs...those would be a few reasons lol. All you lose is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is outdated technology from the 80's.
I was always a Galaxy fan the last one I had was the Galaxy S3 which was 4 years ago, but I was able to get the Galaxy Note 9 to finally experience a Note for my birthday. And I am amazed to this very day about what it does and how it looks. The best phone ever ❤
completely agree with you. My only complains are selfie and night mode. My 128 Gb memory is full up to 100, need to upgrade my 4 year old 64 gb sd card. I cut out the bixby button on my case, so it doesn't bother me anymore. Note 3 is my first note and, like you, i don't use my pen so often. but I really missed it for 3 year (s5, s7e) when it was not there. Note 7 was a 'no go', Note 8 I skipped because i didn't like the finger print scanner at the back. At the end i could not wait longer and bought the note 9. Lost the original pen and in 2 weeks i got a replacement (purple).
Cool video, and yes! Love my note 9. And my note 3 is still activated as well was thinking about getting the note 10 BUT! THEY TOOK AWAY THE HEADPHONE JACK.
I still love using my Note 9. I rate it a 9. There might be one or two little things that I could nitpick about, but so minor, I don't even remember what they are. I bounce back and forth between the Note 9 and S10+, but always seem to enjoy the Note 9 just a bit more. One of the best phones Samsung has ever developed, imo. 😎✌
Samsung: give the people 512 gb of storage! Give them micro SD slot! Give them 1 TB of storage ! Apple: take out all the features then charge you for it
Thanks for the update video Thao! I just got my Note 9 last week, and I’ve been binge-watching all your videos on it. I switched from a Pixel 3 due to its lackluster battery life and the dim display (and obviously the notch). Battery life has been amazing - I’ve yet to get below 30% by the end of the day, and that’s with super heavy usage. My average is 45-50% at the day’s end. My Note has been able to handle anything I’ve thrown at it. I absolutely LOVE the S-pen! It really gives this phone the “everything but the kitchen sink” feel. I have a tip for fellow ex-Pixel users who are missing the amazing camera. I’ve still been using Google Photos, and I found out I can still use Google’s software filter to make my pictures look amazing! I just go into the edit mode, filters, and hit “auto”. It makes my pictures look just as good, if not better, than they did on my Pixel.
I got the 512GB version 7 months ago, planning to keep this device for at least 2 years, and I think I made the right choice. Performance is still smooth as day one and the other features are great. Battery life is impressive, in my case, lasting for 1,5 or 2 entire days. I'm really satisfied with this device!
I own the note 9 for a year now. And have to say it's one of my best phones till date. In terms of camera. I have my wife a lavender note 9 as well... She loves the spen
We have two Note 9 in the Fam and the phone is still killin' 2019. We have a Note 8 also and it's holding up really well too. I have no complaints. Satisfied user here.
For very dark situations but I do use for normal low light situation because it improves the dynamic range a lot. If you have try in like streets light and you will be surprised!
What country are you in? I have not received the night mode update but if samsung is finally throwing it out for the note9 then I guess everyone will have it soon.
just love the note series.. now I can't imagine a phone without S-pen. and GOOD LOCK made my note 9 more exciting. thank you for your videos on GOOD LOCK
Another awesome video!! I installed good Lock on my note 8 and it's awesome. I really ready to see the improvements from the note 9 to the upcoming note 10
Been using my Note 9 since November last year and my experience with it has been absolutely wonderful! There hasn't been any lag whatsoever. I switched over from my 6s plus and as much as I loved that phone, it's safe to say that after Note 9 I will not go back to Apple any time soon. After months of use I still find myself discovering new features and finding little surprises. I don't use my s pen as often as I thought, but when I do, it makes life super convenient. I mainly use it to jot down notes, take group selfies and select text that aren't usually allowed c&p. At first the bixby button was a pain in my ass as I'd often accidentally press it when watching videos horizontally but it was quick to get used to. Also for some reason when I first got it it wouldn't charge properly via cable and it kept disconnecting and reconnecting? It doesn't happen that often anymore but occasionally I still experience that issue. Wireless charging is fine though! Otherwise, it's been great.
Lol!! I don't know why I laughed so hard, "oh old school, micro usb?" Lol. And we thought Micro USB used to be the $#!+. I love my note8, galaxy watch and your videos!
I didn't get a Note 9; instead I bought an S9+. And coming from 9 years of using an iPhone; I couldn't be happier with my new phone. Well new about a year ago.... Anyway.. the customization and choice of how to get things done has been amazing. Oh and my S9+ hasn't slowed down or gotten less smooth running than it was new. I'll consider an upgrade maybe when the S11+ comes out or the Note 11 lol! Oh and seeing a local Toronto RUclipsr smash these videos out is really cool too!!
I use the S-Pen mostly on taking pictures while the phone is on a tripod to avoid shaky shots specially in the evening. It's really a nice feature to have.
My wife and I bought it the day it hit the shelf, soooo glad I did. Still have it and going strong 💪 definitely a 10. Thanks for the awesome videos keep them coming
Thao, ill still rate my Note 9 a nine, now looking forward Note 10+,and pre reserved Note, can't wait to finalize the order. Great work what you do!!! 👌👍
Glad to know there's someone else out there that carries multiple cables and always has a power bank on hand for friends or whoever. I take a solar one to the beach all the time, and I've even charged someone's phone from MY phone using an OTG adapter. Thanks for the video!
I still have my Note 9 as well. I take lots of photos with mine and I find that I like pro mode the best. I love showing family pictures of past events. They sometimes don't believe the shots came from the Note 9. I have no reason to upgrade or change my phone. Thanks Thao.

I bought the galaxy note 9 a year back, and I still love it
Rating note 9 as 11/10. It is a complete package. Using 512 version.
Flawless. Camera works superb and video recording which i use for my recoding daughter's movements. I m making memories which are crystal clear. Love the whole note 9 unconditionally.
Keep it up girl, your videos r good.
Regards and love from India
Sagar.
Its great to sign, and email papers. Or pratice a new language.
Omg good on Thao for only using little memory. Then there's me has a base storage of 64GB on my S9 and have a 256Gb memory card. As of right now I have 79GB free altogether.
I take too many photos and videos of foods and things I find interesting.
I'm still using Note 8 and still rocking well... eagerly waiting for Note 10..
I own the phone for nearly one year and are still happy with it. It's a great piece of tech but I'm really wondering what brings the Note 10 pro.
Yes i love my note 9 512 gb top ,Never change! Perfect for me !
I just got my note 9 a week ago and it's fast never lags and i am a heavy user and the battery lives up to the expectation i got the SM-N960F model dual sim 128GB, love your videos❤
I was missing you!!
❤❤❤❤
Thank you.
Watching on my Note 9! This is still a beast of a phone! I won't be upgrading any time soon since my Note 9 can still do the job well. Battery has aged well, too. So, kudos Samsung! And you too, Thao! This is a very interesting video. Thanks for your insight!
Just got my note 9... benn into note since note 1... i love ur videos .gcam , and your galaxy buds review. Keep it up!
Gcam for exynos ?
@@psiddartha8277 yes theres also exynos comapatible ...
@@christianramos9279 i tried so many apks for exynos. None worked. Can you please share me the link from which u have downloaded gcam? Thanks
Watching from my almost a year Note 9. And this is still awesome.
"You're old school, micro usb?"
Nah fam, *let's talk about 30 pin*
This is to all Samsung Galaxy note Fans THIS IS THE LAST NO COMPROMISES NOTE . I'm so sad 😢.
I'm ordering the note 10 plus, don't care about the headphone jack or sd card.
@@sparx2391 good for you man.
You should watch more videos for learn English, I'm learning English and understand this video. also watch videos every day help you .
I have the note 8...im assuming the note 9 is a step above my note 8. From the looks of it watching your video, the note 9 is dope.
I bought the note 8 seven months ago but I think ima just grab the note 9 around the holidays just for the battery alone
Should be plenty of deals 👍
I'm watching this video from RUclips Recommend to help make my final decision between getting the Samsung Galaxy S10+ or Galaxy Note 9 (I was a bit disappointed with the Note 10 features). So far, you went over the phone's features and your experience and I must say, I'm impressed how you thoroughly explained everything. Consequently, I have made my final decision of getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 two months from now (Colors are either Ocean Blue or Cloud Silver). Thank you! FYI, you just gained a new subscriber to your channel :), 'til then!
The Samsung note 9 was simply....... *AWESOME* .
Great video. I love the note 9. I was with I phone from the day it launched in 2007 to 2018. I went out on a limb and got the note 9. I couldn't be happier. I love how I can. Customize this phone. The camera is also awesome
How did you install google camera on your note 9?
I believe she made a video about it
Find a video on RUclips
I installed it and don't even use it
U r going to face problems if u have the Exynos Variant
There are some apks here , and believe me it's awesome. I have a note 9 and works perfect👌🏼
I'm using the Galaxy 10e and I was really surprised how compact and really good even though for the small size it does the job good battery life it has
Note 9 headphone Jack yup, sd card slot yup, DeX yup, UI yup, still fast yup, um why would I upgrade?
Mine is going to be 1 yr old too. Phone is great! Would even buy another 9 over the rumored 10's no jack, no sd card slot.
Honestly cant see life without the S pen.
Truly feel you 😉
Note 9 is a great tool for studying!
I use it with Microsoft OneNote.
@@ronricooandasan9612 Now you have unlocked the God mode of Onenote
Cool video, and yes! Love my note 9. And my note 3 is still activated as well was thinking about getting the note 10 BUT! THEY TOOK AWAY THE HEADPHONE JACK.
Note 9 is amazing, occasional lag though. But 99% of the time it runs buttery smooth
Apple: take out all the features then charge you for it
they will start look at apple and think "hey is a good idea" then everyone start follow ( e.g take away earphone jack on note 10)
You should definetly review the new note 10 series when they come out!!! I have a Samsung galaxy a50 wich is crazy value for its money!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the 512GB version 7 months ago, planning to keep this device for at least 2 years, and I think I made the right choice.
Performance is still smooth as day one and the other features are great. Battery life is impressive, in my case, lasting for 1,5 or 2 entire days.
I'm really satisfied with this device!
yo amazing video, this channel is very underrated. you need more subs
I own the note 9 for a year now. And have to say it's one of my best phones till date. In terms of camera. I have my wife a lavender note 9 as well... She loves the spen
Amazing content, beautiful host and straight talk. Five stars.
This has been the best phone I've ever owned. I hadnt bought a Samsung since the S3 and now I can't see myself getting anything but another Note.
The note 9 looks cool i still like it. I Would rate 9 out of 10 get it
We have two Note 9 in the Fam and the phone is still killin' 2019. We have a Note 8 also and it's holding up really well too. I have no complaints. Satisfied user here.
Did you get the night mode? Actually I use a lot! It has a very good dynamic range!
True. Thanks Samsung for that actualization, very impressive with the new night mode.
sorry. But what's the night mode for?
For very dark situations but I do use for normal low light situation because it improves the dynamic range a lot.
If you have try in like streets light and you will be surprised!
Yep, improves the HDR and quality of detail too, more colors👌
What country are you in? I have not received the night mode update but if samsung is finally throwing it out for the note9 then I guess everyone will have it soon.
just love the note series.. now I can't imagine a phone without S-pen.
and GOOD LOCK made my note 9 more exciting.
thank you for your videos on GOOD LOCK
What do you use the s pen for?
I am using the Note 8, my favorite so far!
How's the battery life?
@@royashu Awesome tbh but I got it 3 weeks ago and it is pre owned but the battery is very good so far
Another awesome video!! I installed good Lock on my note 8 and it's awesome. I really ready to see the improvements from the note 9 to the upcoming note 10
Lol what you need? "lighting, USB type C? Oh you old school micro USB?" Haha I like that part 😂😂
Waiting to trade my note9 in for the note10+ ..... and my battery is still awesome after a yr
Hey! I'm a note 9 user, from the 8, from day one. I still love it so much, and it is the first time ever I'm not thirsty for a new upgrade.
Yeah my note 9 still a beast 🔥
I use the S-Pen mostly on taking pictures while the phone is on a tripod to avoid shaky shots specially in the evening. It's really a nice feature to have.
I just held a Note10+ a while back. I did something I should never have 😭😭
I pre-ordered note10+ 512gb
My wife and I bought it the day it hit the shelf, soooo glad I did. Still have it and going strong 💪 definitely a 10. Thanks for the awesome videos keep them coming

This review is much better than many other top RUclips channels!
Your smile is intoxicating! Always makes me smile 😄
Glad to know there's someone else out there that carries multiple cables and always has a power bank on hand for friends or whoever. I take a solar one to the beach all the time, and I've even charged someone's phone from MY phone using an OTG adapter. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for all ur note 9 videos....
Will get my note 9 in August ...
Love from India.
I still have my Note 9 as well. I take lots of photos with mine and I find that I like pro mode the best. I love showing family pictures of past events. They sometimes don't believe the shots came from the Note 9. I have no reason to upgrade or change my phone. Thanks Thao.
I've had the note 9 since launch. Been a beast until this past week or two where I've been experiencing quite a bit of lag. Anyone else?
