Great to see you both moving again! But I want something like that to take out for rides in the summer, I need it! But then I remember that I live in Sweden, and summer is the hottest day of the year... Well, I can still dream.
Good job getting the Grafton moving again. I would say your innovations and methods reflect what a cyclecar owner may have done back in the day to keep his machine operational. What's that sleeping behind the Grafton?
Build up the collet jaw faces with hard-facing welding rods. Skim a little off the shaft where it mates and do the same. Then have them both ground to match each other. You could also open up the gap between the collet teeth by 0.5mm or so. Then you can tighten the ding-dong diddley out of it.
I love seeing the way the rear wheels are held onto the shaft. Thanks for a great video. I hope the key and keyway holds.
I would never have thought it was something like a collet to hold the drive gear in place. Actually a really neat design.
Improvise and overcome!
Great to see you've got her running again and plan to return to original as and when possible.

Brilliant, well done you. Looks and sounds great
Always a sense of achievement when it works
Aw, missed a chance to show us the headlight on. But excellent work as always, I thoroughly enjoy this series!

How about filing a flat in the middle of the shaft ( like the ends ) then a locking bolt into a threaded hole in the sprocket .
How do you even find a cycle car like that?!?!? Creeped around the vscc a while but not seen anything the like for sale.
Search “Tim Gunn Cyclecar”, it’s not all as old as it looks.
