  • Mike Gibson in the City goal has a match to forget as City lose at home in a goalfest on MOTD in September 1967. John Quigley and Jantzen Derrick star up front for City, Alan Skirton is playing for Blackpool and joins City once Alan Dicks is in charge at Ashton Gate. This defeat resulted in Fred Ford being sacked, it was his last game in charge. The only video I have showing the stadium as it was before the Dolman was built so interesting to watch just for that.

I started watching in 1970 so this was a bit before my time. I'm guessing they were missing John Atyeo who retired at the end of the previous season?

I was a kid at that game, remember Skirton being so quick. We were really pleased when he signed for city. Great days!

That game was a bit before my time, I started watching a couple of seasons later when the Dolman was under construction. The crowd look strange mostly dressed in jackets and ties!

@@bristolview56 I was sat 'ringside' in front of the Grandstand as a juvenile. I actually caught the ball when it went out for a throw-in.

Really enjoyed this match...but your boss

when you look at blackpool's soft, giveaway

@@lennylaa1686 The boss, Fred Ford, was sacked a couple of days after this game. I saw the keeper Mike Gibson in many games when I first started watching City and he was generally very good, never saw him play this bad.
