@@lorenzohaynes3886 No, CAL & STANFORD would not have had an interest in the BIG12. It's not really accurate to claim that an internally considered school was "rejected", as they may not have been interested either. I will usually try and use the word 'passed". For instance....
The ACC internally considered every new BIG12 school and passed.
I will use "rejected" to mirror a similar claim, like the original comment.
Anyway, per its terms, the BIG12 only had a pro rata for 4 schools, and the 4Cs made far more sense from the B12's perspective.

The Real ACC will not take either USF or UCF unless BOTH FSU and Miami LEAVE. Having 2 teams or more in 1 State is an Old Timey Business Model. (Unless it is a very Large State or 2 Major Brands or something that has existed since the Old Times before 2000).
1 team per State because the More States the More $$$. Because a Modern Business Model is built around Conference Network Plans and Bundles.
The only aspects of a Modern Business Plan going forward that remains unchanged is getting the Best Brands and Markets possible. Brands defined as programs with the Most Viewers. Markets defined as drawing from the Largest TV Markets (and the most populated States).
Plus - the Bundling. ACCN is now Bundled w the SECN and B1GN everywhere. So States w large presences of B1GN and SECN subscribers are IMPORTANT for the ACCN payout.
And Multiple States because the ACCN Payout is per subscriber. But the FEE per Subscriber is 1 Flat Rate in Sates without an ACC School sn 4 TIMES that Rate in States with an ACC team.
So ACC must have a team in Florida, but not 2. ACC got a team i Texas and California because those are 2 huge States. With the Bundle ACC is getting 4X the Rate for every SEC, B1G and ACC Fan in Texas and California. Every Texas. A&M, SMU, Oklahoma, USC, UCLA, Stanford, CAL and all other SEC ACC or B1G fans in those 2 States is paying the ACCN 4X the Rate starting next year.

The BIG3 do NOT consider them equals and do NOT consider them rivals. They only schedule them to appease the state govt. the BIG3 do not believe there is room for additional power schools and hence shun them. The little brothers are all competing against each other to join the big3 as rivals and equals. Today UCF in the B12 has the lead. What remains of the ACC at that point will be lesser than the current Big12. I am making the argument that the current Big12 is stronger than the ACC today. Not off of playoff appearances, but parody of competition and togetherness. My argument was never about success. That's not what matters in realignment. Outside of an invite to the SEC/BIG10, no Big12 schools are leaving or threatening to leave. The ACC is falling apart. What will be left is 6-7 original teams that'll backfill with the American.
You're safe, though. North Carolina will probably be Big10 or SEC at the end of this. Instead of 9-3 every year, you'll go 7-5.

The ACC wont survive once their best teams leave their only chance of survival is doing what the pac12 refused to do which was merge with the big12 and now they're a dead conference if the ACC has a brain theu will merge or die

The BIG12 has lost its top 6 (net) and survived (though that required PAC incompetence).
There is no purpose for a large and wide Tier 2 conference.

Within 5 years EVERY Big 12 school will WANT to be in the ACC.
But only the Top 5 or 6 Big 12 schools will get in. But another 1 to 3 will get into the SEC and Big too.
Enjoy your last few years playing against your Top 6 to 8 Brands Big 12.
They will all be GONE and you will be backfiling with the ac 2 and G5s. Still pretty good though

big-12 fans little brains are about to explode. The fact is no one is proud to be in what is affectionately known as the "trailer park" conference.
If most these mid 12 teams had better options they would try to leave. But Somehow the big-12 has a magical more unbreakable binding grant of rights. Pray the ACC GOR breaks. Sure.
Half of the original big-12 teams already escaped this relegation league asap.
