    If you think about the eb and flow of the river system and how it would flash flood in these hills it makes a lot of sense how these things would get burried over thousands of years. One day you'd have a camp, two hours later it would be buried in mud so you go to dry ground and make a new camp.

      Yea. You have to consider that those Big Sandy's may be a little older....esp with those flutes. That site needs to be dug professionally. 100% it does. But the only thing....there are other places better. I found a Clovis site about like this. Nothing that looks clovis has shown up here yet.....but that is what I am looking for. The end result....the goal is to find the oldest stuff possible.

      Well you get into that river gravel.....it is hard to tell what is there. There is even GOLD. There are agates...all kinds of exotic cherts...and who knows this could have eroded out of some rock like that. Chert is formed in nodules in limestone. And I am finding ancient sea life fossils in the gravels. So imagine the "Rockhounding" videos that could be done on the Ohio river just sorting gravels for agates and cherts.

I wen again today and had to do twice the work to get a video....so you know...maybe I will hit another good area before it is dug out or maybe not. We will just have to see. We are supposed to get some of the leftovers from the hurricane too. And that may mess things up for a while. So have to find another spot this week to go just in case. But there is always the dump....and the marbles. Things get slow or the river goes up...I have something else to do.

    Rocks, have you ever heard of anyone finding a stone with a carving in it? I still have it, but several years ago I found a stone that was cabbed on one side, flat on the opposite and oval shaped. And on the side that was cabbed, it has a carving of The Eye of Ra. The Eye of Ra is from Egyptian times. And from the research that I've done, they say no Egyptians were ever here in this part of the US. Or anywhere else for that matter. I found the stone in Troy NY.
    Any idea when or where it may have originated? I've been asking people for a while now and I've never received any answers. I would bring it to a historian at the local museum but the state of NY had deemed anything of value found in the state belongs to the state. I dont want the museum confiscating it so I've never brought it in.

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  Месяц назад +1

      Probably something that was lost. All you need to do to tell if it is ancient is look at it under a microscope. If it was made with modern tools.......the tool marks are visible under a microscope. You can read online how to do that. It is easy.

    • @rockscousteau

      Dont dismiss it. Everything found deserves some investigation. Lots of artifacts were stolen from egypt in the late 1800's into the early 1900's. Kind of a tourist trade thing. Even mummies were sold and collected in the US. Esp after King Tut was found the interest exploded. It could be real...and it could be from egypt. You need to check it out
