@@RiverDoncaster You call the engine a he, I call the engine a she. It makes no difference, whether we think of SNG as being male or female. We're all different.
That was awesome. At first, I didn't believe that it was doing 100mph, so I calculated it. Using the last clip because of the abundance of suitable markers, I timed the train passing the ground signal (slowing the video down to reduce my margin of error). I came up with 850 feet in 5.75 seconds, which comes out to 100.3mph - give or take a couple of mph either way because of rounding errors.
Well it wasn't doing 100 mph for me, the frame froze but the sound kept on going. I thought Heck, the computer is too slow so I reloaded it and then ... saw that the low down video maker had stupidly frozen the video halfway along. What a Moron! No wonder David Lamy or Sir Keir Starmer are what they are.
Got to see her fly through the station near Thorpe Park back in the summer of 2004. Freak chance. Just happened to be disembarking a train from Basingstoke at the time. Absolute poetry! Even a video of her doing 100mph gives me chills
60007 was placed onto the rollers without her tender and run up to high speeds to monitor the coal and water usage of the locomotive. Sir Nigel Gresley is the holder of the postwar steam record speed of 112 miles per hour (180 km/h) gained on 23 May 1959 and carries a plaque to that effect.
Was that a diesel engine I saw pushing the train from behind? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of having a steam engine pull it in the first place? :/
As a kid we watched the Deltics go through Ranskill ,which were going past at over 100mph ,when A4 ,"Miles Beaver came past ,the smoke was flat along it ,my brother managed to read the name plate it was going that fast, jusst as fast as the deltics , wish e had mobile phones in them days lol ,around1963
All those track formations don't look 100mph. And Sir Nigel is only allowed to do 75mph. Only tornado was allowed to to do 100mph at night with mk3 coaches. Fake film. So sad..
I've always felt the Mallard 126mph speed record is not right. They broke the engine doing it. surely that record should not count. A german steam loco did 125mph without trashing it's bearings.
If you were in a running race maybe you didn't get to the finish line! no point in having a fast train that does not reach it's destination. @@itzmespencer
Speed it up 4 times and make it do 200 mph and you’ll have broken the world steam record twice ! 🥰
Good ol' Sir Nigel Gresley. She never fails to impress.

SNG-she?????????????????????????????????///
@@BIGV710 To me, the engine is female. It's because of the chime whistle she has.
Guys, I’m not sure why Kelly calling the locomotive ‘she’ matters. If they want to then let them lol, there’s no ‘right’ pronoun for a locomotive :/
What does it matter what speed it is or isn't attaining, it's just a joy watching her in action......
Truth matters.
It's just put there as click bait to get more views. A bit pathetic really

The footage is sped up in all of the clips. Not even DMUs get up to 100mph on the Marches!

Silver link did 112.5 mph

Great effects - certainly gives a perspective of what it would have looked like in full flow.
Thank you for your brilliant video i saw it today at our local station wigan northwestern just fantastic regards kevin😊
Super video, superb engine. UK have done so well with their preservation of steam.
Nice video, many thanks for posting it 👍
Fantastic locomotive! I’ve always loved British steam power.
Even if it's not at the century mark, it is certainly hauling ass!
What a beautiful sight ❤
Amazing how the birds fly so fast in this film. The film would be better at the correct speed.
This' is probably the closest u can get of reimaging of the Pacifics ran in their prime

Absolutely magnificent!😀
Speed of the video is like 2 X faster !
Yes, if the sound of whistle is carefully observed
My great grandfather was one of the drivers of this. A Clarence Fletcher.
Unbelievable thanks for sharing 👍
The 100 mph that the LNER A4 achieves Sir Nigel Gresley explains why in Thomas and friends Spencer was able to achieve great speeds
It isnt a theory when they regularly run 75 - 90 mph
@@polandballrbx9954, but they don’t regularly run at 75-90 !
@@polandballrbx9954
75 mph max.
Why does the video look so sped ip
It is sped up. In reality it's going much slower.
Certainly shifting along as is their wont.Hope the middle big end is ok.
Sir Nigel Gresley not doing 100mph
Read the write up.
It wasn't
It's to old to
Not allowed to go that fast
Yes they are,on speed testing watch the tornado doing over 100 mph 👍😎
Nice looking train ❤

Read the description
But not on that track formation.
Fantastic machine 👌
What was the real speed here?
75mph is the maximum permitted speed for a preserved loco on main lines. Tornado did a 100mph run with special permission.
About 60mph.
Sir Nigel Gresley yes, 100mph NO.
she did have a gallop on
Amazing sight 😲👍
Brilliant
It's ok she isn't going 100 mph but it's entertaining
My hutt
Awsome

You don't film a speed event using zoom. It kills the whole effect.

It still got to 125mph, melting the locomotive's bearing doing so doesn't matter
So if u ran to 40mph and u broke something in your leg, did you reach 40mph ?

@@gaugeonesteam What a silly statement, yes it did run a bearing so what! Suggest you read the book on "Mallard".

95mph
75 mph

👍
Is Spencer in real life
