    I have 2 module, run with qmi mode. How to load balance 2 module? There is no config for gateway metric in intrerface qmi.

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  4 года назад +1

      Hi, for load balance between 2 interface, you can check this tutorial ruclips.net/video/f_yGMezdMB0/видео.html. For the gateway metric, you can edit the /etc/config/network and add this line:
      option metric '10'
      Replace 10 with the metric that you want and it is done.

      There is an option in mwan3 when it detects hotplug event. You can do research on this or post your current setting and problem on the FB group "Van Tech Corner & Friends" for easy communication.

    По этой инструкции если подключить модем, то он будет работать. Но! До истечения аренды IP адреса провайдера. Потом связь прерывается и надо вручную перезапускать роутер или интерфейс. В предыдущих версиях OpenWRT была поддержка "modemmanager" которая самостоятельно мониторила подключение, и делала перезапуск даже при зависании модема, сейчас надо руками из сырцов собирать, потому как ее больше нет в оф репозитории. Тогда вывод это хардкодить свои функции для мониторинга соединения и переподключения модема при окончании аренды IP адреса или зависании модема.

    Hey man, thanks for the OpenWRT guides. Been a huge help for a complete newbie like me. I have a question though, is it possible to do LTE band locking on a built-in modem through OpenWRT and if so, how do I go about doing this? Sorry if this is a bad question and again, thanks a lot.

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  4 года назад +3

      Hey, thanks for the comment. Band-locking depends on the modem itself (in my case it is the EC25 and we can lock the modem to a specific band). At 4:50 I have shown how to communicate with the modem and we can just lock the band using AT command. There are conversation on the internet for this and here is an example. forums.quectel.com/t/ec25-locking-procedure/2993/10. Big vendors like Quectel, Sierra and SIMCOM have their own forum and you can surely ask for help there.

    Hi, your videos are treating several technical aspects which make them really interresting and a reference.
    I found a module (HLK-7621A MT7621A) similar than the Wallys one and I would like to know if you have used it or if you can advice if it is possible to do the same thing using it like your Router (of cours with the same Quectel 4G mini PCI or similar) ? What should I take into account (image, compilation,...) when it comes to use another module or board as a router?
    (info: it seems that the 7621A is based on OpenWrt and it is supported by OpenWrt)
    Thank you.

      Hey, from what I know, the module you mentioned is just the the core package. You will need the I/O to use with. May I know if you have a working device or just the module and you want to get started?

      Hello, Thank you for your quick feedback.
      Actually I am starting with. I was wondering if the module (HLK-7621A MT7621A) can be an alternative to the one you have shown in the video (i.e. Wallys DR4029).
      Of course I will need a 4G Mini PCI from Quectel or another branch.
      The question is if I purchase the module (HLK-7621A MT7621A), what sould I do (steps) to make it work with a 4G mini PCI ? I mean can I use staight or should install an image, or compile something,...
      Thanks in advance

      - Bạn nên cắm modem vào máy tính chạy Windows, vào Device Manager tìm cổng COM tương ứng, sau đó dùng Putty để tạo kết nối Serial và kiểm tra thử lệnh AT có phản hồi gì không.

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  Год назад

      Chào bạn, chế độ hoạt động của card mạng (3g/4g) là do bản thân nó quyết định chứ không phải OpenWRT. Bạn có thể giao tiếp với modem của card mạng bằng lệnh AT và chuyển đổi chế độ hoạt động (trong phạm vi hỗ trợ của nó). Tùy theo mỗi loại card và nhà sản xuất sẽ có dòng lệnh riêng. Cái này bạn phải tự tìm hiểu datasheet của card đang dùng hoặc tìm đâu đó trên mạng.
      Ví dụ đối với card Quectel EC25:
      AT+QCFG="usbnet",0 PPP & QMI
      AT+QCFG="usbnet",1 ECM
      AT+QCFG="usbnet",2 MBIM

    I have WSL on Win10 PC & Ubuntu 20.04.. The issue is I’m getting an error reporting that I’m using a (relative path) in my $PATH but this no true. Some online forums say the reason is because of the (.) I.e. (dots) in the version name/ path naming convention.
    Is there a workaround for this? Or should I use a dedicated physical machine to run its own version of Ubuntu 20.04???

    This is nice but like in many of your videos, this not working for many services provided in North America.
    You cannot simply put any SIM card in any device and expecting an auto config from your router to do the magic trick for you with just basic APN details. It does not work in Canada.
    Same goes for gpon from ISPs, MAC address of the gpon are used to secure a link so you can’t just put the fiber cable into any transceiver of your choice in hope to bypass your ISP equipment.

    • @VanTechCorner

      It should work, you just need the compatible module for your region. For NA, you will need Quectel EC25-AF or EC25-V, depends on the band and Telco. The driver installation & configuration should be done manually for OpenWRT, you can find the link to the full guide on the video description
      For GPON, yes, you need to understand the OLT, ONT, how is the authentication to get a suitable GPON SFP module. See these videos where I talked about the GPON Serial Number, MAC Address, SLID/PLOAM Password, etc
