i find it fascinating how much Merle found GG interesting even though he was his brother. Who in the 80s thinks to record a phone call with their brother? Merle knew GG was a character lol
I think Merle probably recorded it for a collection and obviously knew it could be sold later. It was not in vain that he asked for a recording of the performance. Of course, he valued his brother, and from a distance, I think, even more. By the way, I also recorded my conversations with my brother a long time ago, just for collection. There is nothing unusual about this.
It's not uncommon& when people are into the kinds of things they are it's even more common, police/undercover etc.. it's become a part of everyones everyday life because of the advances in technology &the "appeal" of becoming rich&/or famous if you can catch something "worth anything". It's helpful because people aren't always honest but it's not fascinating to me, it makes things very complicated for people who just want things to be said/done plainly. Plainly doesn't necessarily mean boring but how people are, having seen how they treat GG Allin or others who don't agree with certain things, I would very much rather be considered boring. not everyone's nature is as "boring", supposedly, everyone living looks for something to pass time.
