The maps were introduced when people complained about so many dice after the survey we got, so think they were thrown together at last min. They have always reused cover art it changes per adventure so there will be 7 in total we are onto 5, it portrays the exclusive characters designed for the mag, the next one shows the last 4 characters introduced ranger sorc tortle barb and arakocra wizard. I agree the maps could be bigger and more useful and even double sided with previous adventure maps but like I said think they were last min additions same as notebook etc and were never planned, unlike the battle maps or world maps which we get at the start of each new adventure. Some issues go up and down with content but when u see it all in the binders it makes much more sense, as we have covered way more info that what’s in the player guide and dm guide, they also refer you to the free Digital character creator online if you don’t like the pre made ones.
If they could make maps in the form of a large poster stapled to the middle of the magazine.
A very good idea, if they made them so you could match them up with exits and entrances, so you could have an endless dungeon, it'd be pretty darn cool.
This series seems so hit and miss, it’s baffling.
I know what you mean, the focus seems to be all over the place.
When u see it all in the binders and are following the story line It makes much more sense, they give you the info you need as you need it rather than giving you everything up front which actually makes it much more digestible as a new player.
