Tapas has more ways to showcase your work, while Webtoon, being a more popular platform, has more visibility.

The one thing I will say in regards to Webtoon vs. Tapas, what I hate about Tapas is that there are some really amazing stories I want to watch, but the problem is I have to login to see them, and i don't have a tapas account nor do I want to make one just to read comics. With webtoons, you can just go onto the website without signing in and look at the stories. sure, you can't leave comments, but I never cared.
I wouldn't mind this login situation with tapas if there was a logical reason for it. Like maybe the comic has some heavy themes or nsfw, which sure you might need an account to verify your age. But I am watching a tapas original that has a lot of blood, swearing and near nudity and i don't need to sign in. It's really annoying because there are some really cool titles I want to see, but I need an account to access more of the episodes.

Well, leaving comments is great because it supports the artists emotionally and improves their metrics as well. So if you like the comics you're reading, please consider supporting the artists making them, it's hard work!

Piracy is the only acceptable way to read these greedy asf novels and comics
Both Webtoon and Tapas have content that is completely free to read legally through things like Canvas, it is only contracted works that cost anything, and even among those there are options to read some completely free, if you are patient.
It's worth noting that even many creators are very frustrated with the larger companies, and most comic creators who do make a profit are still overworked and underpaid, so please be considerate of how you express your frustrations.
As for our own novel and comics, they can all be read completely for free on our website. We don't charge anything, and we don't have ads on our site, either. We do leave the option for donations instead, and so far we have made about $215 over the last three years! But we've spent about $3,000, so we've really only lost money. Just a reminder that not all novels and comics are greedy. For us, it's a labor of love.
