You can easily make this Dynamic Turn Signal and Daytime Running Light (DRL) system by using an Arduino Nano. You can adjust the length of the light and colour of the DRL based on your requirement. Full step by step guide is included in this video. Then all you have to do is, give 12V power to the light system and connect turn light signal and DRL switch or park light signal with this light. Hello, I think your idea is excellent, I even ordered everything, got it delivered but I don't know how best to solder it! I've seen the plan but I don't know how I can solder ground with DRL 12V and turn signal 12V with a resistor, for example can you put instructions on how to solder it on RUclips? That would be great, I love your channel, great things to imitate!
Solder resistors and other components on a perfboard and just tap the wires from the light and feed to the system. Super thanks for the compliment 😊.

You can try the strip or you can buy high power individual WS2812B LEDs and join together.

I haven’t tried it. But should work. In any case use a 12V voltage regulator as the car power could vary.

These LEDs are so power hungry..so....have you tested the brightness of the leds under daytime???
Hi. You could use a simple diffuser on top of the LED strips to make it more visible under direct sun light. But these 144LED/m strips works well in direct sunlight too. Test it before you install. Thanks 👍🏻

Yes it is possible.
How I can use 2 led strip for right signal lamp and left signal lamp?
Just parallel the LED strip connections. You can use any number of strips as long as you have a decent amp power supply.
I want that after the full drl is turned on, to send current 12V to the low beam like audi, without affecting audi light sensors. Is it possibile?
I’m afraid that I have no idea on how the light sensors work. But you can definitely activate a 5V relay after DRL to control the low beam.

I’m Having trouble with this code, the orange option show a green Chaser dot when turn off, and i’d like to suggest a option to Dimmer the drl with park lights on, this way we make the drl signal with motor on, and dimmer with park lights on… thank you

First, of all thank you so much for this detailed project. My hunt got stopped at your video where I got my desired effects. This is so excellent that a complete newbie like me has done this so easily, just because of your awesome video. I managed to run this code for a lesser number of LEDs. If I use 144+ LED, the park light animation works but does not stop and keeps on running in the loop.
I am trying to make it for 2 continuous LED strips (288 LED's) for my Nexon's underhood DRL lights.
Can you please guide me on where do I need to change the code? or anything else you want to suggest?

@@HAZITECH Sorry to update late, it's not a bug in the code but the power issue. I tried to resolve the issue and found the solution. When using 144+ leds (I am using 340 leds for Nexon bonet) we need to either decrease led brightness or increase Ampere in led power supply. 3Amp is not sufficient.
Also 5v 3A power supply get very hot with 144+ LEDs.
I used fastLED.setBrightness to control brightness globally and at 55% brightness it worked perfectly...
I hope this will help others if they encounter same issue...

I want to use 2 ardruino for my headlights ( 1 for each headlight for clean plug&play installation ) but I have a wee problem with DRL startup animation.
I mean, when 2 LED strips are connected, like on the video, the animation looks perfect, but if I want to use just 1 Led strip then the animation starts from the center.
The turn signal works like I want after a simple change on - BlinkerLEDs NUM_LEDS / to 1 and what I need is similar function for DRL so the animation will start from the end of the led strip not from the centre.
Can anyone tell me where I have to edit source code to to make the animation look the way I want?

Yes of course. Colours are given in CRGB(Red, Green, Blue) format. Find the code lines and lower the values.

It is not that simple as turn signal code is all over the main code. You have to modify several places of the code.

I just wondering.. the nano is 7-20 volt compatible, and there is grd, +5v & +3,3v on the board, so why use a dc-dc step down ?
And do I use the same resistor if I use 20 led or 144 led
Step down voltage regulator is required to power up the LED strip. Arduino 5V out current is not nearly enough. And yes all the resistors stay the same. Use a good quality power regulator as pixel LEDs are power hungry.

How many LEDs are you using and did you update that LED number in the code?

Make sure you have connected all the resistors as mentioned and ground it. Otherwise it won’t work properly. It should be your wiring as 100+ people already made this and contacted me.

No. You can just give 12v positive to signal wires and test. If you are working with just 5V, then give input signal to resistor connection joint where 10k and 22k joins.

Noooo. It will burn the arduino. Use exactly what is mentioned.

Hello Brother,
Finally, I was able to complete the project. But when I installed it in my car, I found different behavior in animation than while testing at home. When Hazzard or indicator blinks, it flickers with a blue LED once at every cycle. The same code works well while testing at home. I have tried increasing the voltage from 4.5 to 5.5 volts and the amp from 2 to 8.5 with full /half brightness, but nothing helped.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions? That will be of great help. I am almost at the last stage of completion.
FYI, I am using a total of 322 LEDs for my car. Also, let me know If there is any way to show you how the animation looks when installed in the car.

Hi, You have to change the blinker delays as shown in the video to match with your turn signal frequency. Try increasing the delay a bit.
@@HAZITECH Exactly that's what I did and able to solve the problem.. but still it miss the right side blink once at start for (hazard signal) when DRL is off. Tried increasing and decreasing delay without success... Looking out for another possibility to connect indicator bypassing the cars blinkers .. so we do not need to match blinker speed. 👍🤗

@@HAZITECH One more thing, turn signal animation looks slow even after making turn signal speed to "0". What could be the solution ? And this animation speed depends on what ? I mean microprocessor or led strip itself ?

Have you burn the boot-loader of the microcontroller?. If not please follow my ATtiny85 playlist and go through very first video. Without it the microcontroller runs at a lower frequency.
