I commented several weeks ago about the team doing an airshow video. Showing the different pilot's skills during the airshow, with tricks and formation flying. I would still love to see this and I'm positive all the other viewers would also love such a video.
4:54 The carrier can, in fact, go in reverse. In fact, the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) backed into the USS Leyte Gulf in 1996. At least once a day, they test the general, chemical, and collision alarms. When the bridge realized they were about to hit, they sounded the collision alarm. I was only on board for a few months, so I was trying to remember which alarm that was. We found out very soon thereafter. It crumpled the fantail CIWS and they called the EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal team) to the fantail to deal with the ammo still inside it.
What a great time this must have been... Just seeing your buddies fall JUST short of that carrier was hilarious. Definitely have to do more of this in the future. And figure out why the carrier wasn't moving, definitely need that in play!
I think it would be challenging for you to do this but have the carrier at full power but doing full locking left turns one round, then switching to full locking right turns next round in addition to the winds.....runway turning away or towards you in addition to head or tailwind combos!
Hope you enjoy Fairford, Cap - Spent some of this week helping prep security for it. Here's your challenge game: Do one of your dogfights in a ring.... With 100MPH winds across the ring. (Maybe make it a bigger ring in some valleys? Afghan map maybe?)
This was just crazy fun; I admit the NEAT moment was when the F-16 had to pull away at the last minute; lastly, I did not know the F-5 had a carrier hook!
I wish Eric Lock could see this. I met him just before he died he was one of the greatest aviators in history and the reason Chuck Yager could break the sound barrier. He should be a Scottish hero.
Think about when you were a kid, and you found out that you'd be landing a digital f18 on an aircraft carrier while getting toasty with buds. I'd want to be an adult right away. Maybe it's different for each generations but I was a kid in the 90s.
Hello Capt, Hello boys...you could do a new series....Demolition Derby, you could use fixed wing and helicopters, winner gets another pair of Capts used Jock Strap ?😂😂😂
I have to wonder if the tower on the ship is a wind block, to almost land with the wind going another way. Or "hover landing"? Non naval aircrafts. Very intriguing ❤
I would like to see what a Dauntless using dive brakes could do. Most Pacific theater planes were carrier based so they should do well. I bet the light planes , like the A6 Zero would be hard to control with those crazy crosswinds lol.
Hey cap, in the rules does it allow for mods that just enable the hook? Because for example the f15c has a modeled hook in dcs but you need the naval eagle mod in order for it to be used by the pilot
hi grim reapers ! just a few hours ago, israel has bombed yemen's port with 8 f-35's and 5 f-15's in response to the killing of an israeli citizen in tel aviv by a drone they sent. could you guys recreate that mission ? the name of it was "long arm". i really hope you can . thanks if you respond!
"He's alright because Mosi's made of wood and it'll float."
lmao
The 8-bit "Top Gun" NES theme still haunts me till this day. Mission accomplished, but you can't stick the landing.
"Don't sweat this, Cougar. It's just another walk in the park. I've got you." 😂
I failed to refuel, so I am dead anyways!
Hope CAP is enjoying RIAT Fairford today, i've attended for 30 years but this year my lung cancer grounded me..
Kidney cancer here, also kept me away. I feel your frustration! Hope you’re doing well my dude 🫡
@@alexdeeprose2303 keep fighting the good fight ☢
Good luck fair bois, you guys got it!
@@f104starfight3r Same :D

i think they did this ages ago.
These landing competitions are surprisingly fun to watch!

That looks like some of the best fun right there. Would love to join in one day.

@@davidhuss2301 hahaha yep that's right
Nice to see Fly back. I was wondering where he and his German humor had gone.
I never left 😅
Belly landing a warbird is actually a brilliant idea. Hilarity in overdrive!
"This will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it..."
Nice reference to The Hunt For Red October.
@SuperCap Can we do a challenge, canyon run, SU-57 chasing F-14. Guns and IR missiles only. 1v1. See who comes out on top. Has this already been done?
I think he’s done something close to it when he tested splitting the throttles on the F-14
With Darks crazy drunk missiles
Fuck yeah this would be awesome!!
This would have been fun to watch from the air boss position.

Yes......That was me in the flanker in the beginning, I lost my brake key bind for some reason. Ricky B.........obby
Haha, that was nuts!
Seeing modern jets hanging in the wind like seagulls! That's gold :)

Fly always makes me think of Donny in The Big Lebowski. Donny says something. "Shut the f**k up, Donny."

"Viggen in the riggin'" was gold.
Jeeze this looks like a blast. Id love to do this with yall lol
You think you've seen it, and then Cap say's "hold my jockstrap (and don't drink the bathwater)!"
Toooo the moon! My people need me. 30:56

I need to fly with you guys one day I could make that carrier landing on first try in any weather condition
Yeah that untextured thing by the LSO is a point connector.. It's a bug.
It's on my ship mods as well.
Every time this event happens it ends up being very silly.
I approve. 😆

then you make it to adulthood and realise how stupid you were for wanting to get there so fast! XD
quality entertainment!
No helicopters allowed? Does ejecting onto the deck count as survival?
15:50 might want to practice crosswind landings before landing sideways…😂
Matrix was too busy to do this as we believe he is moonlighting as a Saudi display pilot 🤔
Lots of money in that.
@@grimreapers it all fits 🤔
So after watching this I've concluded I'm a better pilot than I thought lmao, sometimes the combat systems kick my ass but I can fly the plane haha

One of the best ones. Proper crying with laughter!
CARRIER LANDING YEAAAAAHH 💪
This is always great fun boys. Thanks!
Love the silliness cap. Thanks
No Simba Wimba, gotta do it again... A shame...
If you guys ever host a "Worst carrier landing but somehow still catches the wire everytime" competition let me know lmao
Think youre all batshit crazy, but that was brilliant to watch :)
man, i'm just getting started with MSFS now. One day I will get good at it/ you guys and girl's make it fun to watch
this is DCS, not MSFS
i have wondered how the aircraft designed for short public roads would do if they had to land on a carrier.
Cap, next time put the carrier somewhere more challenging like a lake or a river with trees around it
29 minutes ago is crazy
Hey cap why don't you use smaller and smaller carriers per round until you end up on HMAS Melbourne.
Love it!
That was so much fun, enjo9y your Jock Strap Milo! 🤣😅🤮
No F6F or F4F or F4U's? Seems like a missed opportunity.

Trying to steer clear of any mods for these big group events TBH as is a nightmare to organise.
Most enjoyable thank you 😅
Day 7 of asking Cap to bring humans back to carrier battles
Very nice video, keep it up
Has anyone tried the A10? Short landing and can use the cannon as reverse thrust
No MC 130?
To the One who Said Moinsen, moin zurück
I am here in two minutes, I love your vids
Why didn't anyone cheat and use a Harrier? Lol
😂😂😂 well done boys!
Why does the F-18 cockpit texture looks so ugly? Did ED changed it (is this the default one?)? Looks crap, sadly...
world diving championship competition...
Hilarious boys 😂😂
Is an AV-8B not allowed in this then?
It's considered cheating.
@@grimreapers LOL - no doubt :) Keep up the good working making the vids.
Do you use Vr ?
Hey should we space out the landings? Nahhh
how is the first one so hard for people lol
Night landing?
