    Only had one Rattlesnake come inside my back door and relax next to the side of the door. Mojave 2.5 ft. Ironically I was walking in with my midwest tongs in my hand and immediately noticed theout of place color patern and picked it up and walked it 200 feet behind my home here in Joshua Tree ca. No biggie. I am semi retired from rattlesnake rescues. Did that since 1999 and very happy there are new youngsters carrying the torch profesionally to keep our snakes and families safe. Now I teach dogs to avoid getting bitten. Been picking up rattlesnakes since 1966.

    that was so pretty and so big King snake. Seeing that rattlesnake so defeated after the kitchen adventure really reiterates that snakes just mind their own business. Dealing with encroachment and ending up in yards has to be stressful.

    I’ve read that rattlesnakes have fragile ribs. Don’t the tongs injure them? I’ve noticed on various rattlesnake rescue videos(not so much in your videos but occasionally) the snake is biting or biting at the tongs. Is it because the person running the tongs hurting the snake? It sure looks uncomfortable for the snakes.

    Two questions for you... How do you manage your calls? Do you have certain folks "on call" at specific times, or does someone act as a dispatcher of sorts (I guess I'm kind of curious about how you manage work hours for your staff, as well). I'm also wondering if you ever have any merch for sale, like t-shirts, hats, official Rattlesnake Solutions snake hooks, etc. :P

    • @RattlesnakeSolutions
      @RattlesnakeSolutions  2 года назад +8

      We have several people on call at any given time, managed by an application we built for that purpose. Depending on the time of day, we have a central dispatcher that answers the calls and sends them to the closest person with the relevant experience. On a busy day where we have 3 or 4 calls happening all at the same time, it works out very well and we can cover the entire Phoenix and Tucson metro areas within a half hour very effectively.

    If I woke up to go to the fridge to get a glass of kool aid and I heard that that I couldn't get my rifle quick enough I'd probably get tagged going and getting the rifle. By the way getting "tagged" means getting bit. My dumb ass would probably miss the snake and put a nice bullet hole in the floor.
