    That Finsulate is an interesting product, I wonder how it would go on a timber boat. Some use copercoat but the boat still needs to be lifted each year to check for ship worm 🐛 I guess this would still apply.
    The cavitation cleaning would be a good business for a cruiser 🏴‍☠️

    When it comes to the big cats it expensive to pullout and sometimes it’s hard to find a place that can do it hear in Annapolis. And a lot of the yards won’t let you do the work .So if you paint every two years definitely finsulate would save money.

    I also applied Finsulate on our HR42 last year. I didn’t see any barnicals on your hull which would have been there without Finsulate I am quite sure, as before with our previous ship we had banicals after only a few month’s also in the Med. Thanks for your great video.

    Hi guys thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge of the finsulate I have been waiting for this presentation for some time now, reading between the line it would appear that the benefits outway the disadvantages as they say it is work in progress and i look forward to seeing what it looks like when you take her out of the water, keep up the good work.

    I would be looking at $5 a foot x 60 feet x 1 cleaning per week = $15,600, round up to $20,000 per year, which is very reasonable to keep the bottom fast and in good shape. Your time is worth at least $200 per hour, so 100 hours covers it, plus you get the write off. Perhaps a high quality epoxy paint job on the bottom is all you need, if you're doing a weekly cleaning? The Captain likes his bottoms really slick and fast!!!

    Cavitation happens when the water is accelerated through the nozzle and the pressure at the nozzles vena contractor drops below the vapour pressure of water, creating a vapour bubble. It’s when the bubble collapses it produces a microscopic pressure wave of extreme intensity.

    Please round off the corners on the spackling blade. I clean my boat as well. But , it is easy to penetrate the finish or even the hull with the sharp edge.

    I think the company need to focus on the environmental benefits of this product. Growth will happen on any coated surface I'm aware of but this can be cleaned with no toxic by-products. Time for a speed run now! 😃

  • @MonkPetite

    Good to see the results.. I think if you move more the less growth there will be.
    Obviously the growth is something you can’t avoid, this fact implicate that cleaning must be easy with out discarding paint ships and poisonous materials. Green clean so to speak.
    Apparently the carpet of growth comes off easily from the finsulate. With the system of cavitation it looks like a easy job.

    Do you know of anyone who does this cleaning process anywhere in Europe eg England? Going by your review regarding cleaning of the Thinsulate I'll be looking into getting this product also the wrap around the hull instead of a re-paint for the ecological reasons in regard of ocean health.

  • @barryholiday8998
    @barryholiday8998 2 года назад

    Perhaps you should try to do more regular cleanings of the hull like once a month maintenance and see how the product acts. It’s unusual to wait 23 months to clean the hull. I’d like to see how that goes.

    • @jameskiehm546

      I agree with Barry, 2 years is a long time between cleanings. I’ve never heard of the product and would likely avoid it. I know the two of you wanted to be positive but I’m not sure you sold me. I’m surprised your thruster even works it was so over grown. Thanks for introducing the product.

      @@FeeltheBreeze in theory, I think this product makes a lot of sense and I want to continue to track your experience to see if will be something I would do in the future. Curious how the cost compares to ablative, hard paint and copper coat. Thanks!

      @@FeeltheBreeze nice! I’m interested to see how it performs with regular cleanings. By the way, I’ve seen a catamaran owner install the Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling Duo System and seemed to have very good results. Wonder if you could look into this as well. 👍🏻👏

    Goede review, ik ben onder de indruk hoe goed de Finsulate het uitgehouden heeft. Voor mijn stalen boot heb ik het niet aangedurfd maar heb Foul Away van Epifanes gebruikt, daar zit geen koper en biociden in. het zit er sinds dit vaarseizoen op, dus ik weet nog niet hoe goed het houdt maar daar kom ik vanzelf achter 😄. Ben benieuwd hoe jullie boot er aan toe is als ie weer eens het water uit gaat, wat zijn de plannen?

    • @FeeltheBreeze
      @FeeltheBreeze  2 года назад +1

      Dank Sjoert, zijn ook zeer positief verrast, het was echt een test om 2 jaar niet grondig schoon te maken en dat is gelukt, de boot gaat er ook nog uit. De plannen zijn eerst de geboorte van een nieuw wonder. Lekker genieten en gewoon veel varen.

    Will finsulate be a sort of paint protector and prevent rust on a steel boat ?

    • @finsulatesales9183
      @finsulatesales9183 2 года назад

      The Finsulate film is watertight and supports the prevention of corrosion. But first of all, Finsulate is a environmental friendly alternative for the traditional paints

    Interesting🤔 theres a new generation of biologically inspired hull coatings to resist fouling ..
    A fellow Dutch guy with ocean crossing Trimerans uses no coatings just uses a hard finish Epoxy on his hulls and polishes it so everything comes off with a hard rubber scraper.
    ruclips.net/video/L7Q6mGHlWdE/видео.html there's also a Swedish company that builds boat hulls from stainless steel and polish it to a mirror finish below the waterline ...its so slippy they get very little fouling and it sheds easily..

    No idea how you get a positive result with this product. I have finsulate for only one season under my boat and it just came out of the water (Baltic sea). It is a disaster - tons of see grass and muscles!!! The fact that the person who installed it on my and many other boats have disappears tells me that I can forget about my warrenty. Must be the worst anti-fouling product ever!

    • @FeeltheBreeze
      @FeeltheBreeze  Год назад

      Hi there, so sorry to hear! Maybe you can contact the owner of the company and see what he can do for you. Maybe we are lucky, although our friends where very satisfied with the product as well, until they did a crossing, If we look at the growth with us it is similar as with copper coat, but easier to remove. But as said, we want to see how the product looks when we take her out of the water. We are not confident to sail in other areas with the product than the Med for now. Hope you can find a great solution with the owner of the company! And the Baltic sea, must be amazing to sail over there.
