How can a law mandate how much public land you should sell off on a regular basis? What if you can't find a decent buyer? I think the law needs to be reformed.
@@michaelme1188 Apparently they are not trying to find any buyers in accordance with the law. They are simply stonewalling and not making public land available for sale which is against the law that Congress approved. I believe that not following Congrssional Law is considered Contempt of Congress which is a felony and punishable by 5 years in prison. The Speaker of the House can institute Contempt charges against any witness before them. The curious thing is why are they not doing that?
@Florida Storm There is a surplus of issued licenses that haven't been used yet and it is bad business to have to sell your inventory whether or not you are getting a bad deal. I would argue they are doing their jobs and doing it better than any bureaucratic mandates would specify.

If Biden believed in energy independence, he would have never revoked Trump's policies. WE WERE ENERGY INDEPENDENT before Biden. So energy independent that we, the USA, were fulfilling our own energy needs and actually selling surplus (not the National Reserve) to other countries. Not buying inferior product from other countries.

Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean they broke the law. Permits weren't given out every month because there was litigation over interpretation and implementation of the law. He does not like that fine, but when he does not acknowledge that in public questioning and just accuses her of breaking the law he is just lying.

The clock on the representatives questioning time should be stopped while witnesses are answering them. It would end all the blabbering that is designed to eat up the clock while NOT answering the question.
The representative should stop the witness with "that's not an answer to my question" every time they filibuster & say "reclaiming my time" followed up by repeating the question. Do this until they correctly answer. Any whining from the other side should be met with "If they would stop filibustering & answer my questions we could move on" It would force both sides to demand an end to the stonewalling & beating around the bush.

The current regime of federal land management is blatantly unconstitutional. The founding fathers never intended to create a Republic where the feds could impose draconian fees on peaceful individuals and force them from the land. Territories referred to land that was owned by the federal government but had not been formally made into states. Enclaves referred to land within a state that was owned by the federal government for essential purposes such as ‘Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards.’ Other property refers to land holdings for enumerated purposes, and gives the federal government limited discretion to possess land.
