A number of people have called this video "fake" by accusing me of using a metal hook at 14:25 . Please take a closer look at the footage. The black colour you are seeing is lugworm bait remains that have slid up the line. It is not a metal hook. The bone hook is lodged deep within the fish's belly.

Alright so it may seem like centrifugal force but that doesn’t actually exist. Inertia is what causes the force and that doesn’t push straight outwards like centrifugal force is supposed to.
The most consistently amazing thing to me about this channel is Mike's girl. She has to be the most supportive and enthusiastic girl in the first world. 99.99% of girls under the age of 35 would be complaining and/or on their phone. I think it would've maybe helped if mike knew a bit more about fishing, the first spot he was trying from the shore honestly didnt look too bad but then he goes out in the middle of the lake to put bait like 4 feet below the surface. Fish usually hang out somewhat close to the ground weather that be 3 feet below the surface in 3 foot deep water or 30 feet below the surface in 30 foot deep water.

Seeing the flat fish reminded me of when I was a kid in the 1950s. We used to visit an old family friend who lived near Morecambe Bay. He used to fish for dab, a small flat fish, by wading in the shallows with bare feet and trapping fish under his feet by standing on them. Fishing with absolutely zero fishing gear! Those fish you threw back are delicious fried and seasoned with a touch of lemon and eaten with fresh bread and butter.

If you really gotta get food, fish for crabs. Just get any type of worm, fish, flesh, etc.
Tie a rock to a cord.
The dumb crabs will grab the bait, and while pulling it up, the crab won’t let go.
I once got 12 crabs in 1 afternoon using this method.

ive been using bone hooks for the last few years while flyfishing for trout. I tried mussel shell, antler and bone and found bone to be the most suitable material. Id love to share some tips and info with you!
