Doh, 🙈 we put in the wrong flag for England 🏴! If we’re ever allowed back in the country, Jason will wear a budgie smuggler with the proper flag on it as retribution. 🩲
LOL...no worries...but did you realize that boat was called The "Wraith" and not "Wrath"? I mean...it is really cool either way, since one is a deadly sin and the other is a dead spirit, but I am positive there was an i in that name. ✌😁
I’m so confused about this beer engine? Please explain! I bartended for over 20 years and my parents owned a tavern (beer and wine only) and a Bar (beer, wine and liquor) since I was 10 yrs old. I’m from the US. I’ve never in my life heard of a beer engine. So I’m being very honest can you explain what it is please?!!! I think your talking about a beer tap? Thank you💞
I thought it was Wrath too until I went back & looked. The size of the A fools your eye into not seeing that skinny "I". Honest mistake when there's a lot going on. Curious Minion
@@Dragonfly31133 In UK, it's a hand pump /hand pull or just called a pump. Bitters/cask ales are pumped up from the cellar rather than using gas - called pulling a pint. They are served at cellar temperature. The ones that use gas would be called a tap or tap handle and serve fizzy beer usually a larger at cold temperatures. Ciders could be either spending on type.
Awwww 😍😍😍 It was such a pleasure to spend time with you both! And I’m so pleased you had a blast on the canal. You’ve captured the joy of narrowboating perfectly 😀
This may have been my all time favorite episode. Just fantastic, the adventure, the scenery, the overall event. Thank you for taking me along on the trip together. Loved it!
Beer hand pumps are technically called engines in UK too, but hardly anyone would refer to them as such unless they had experience in the trade. The beer engine was invented in 1691 by John Lofting, a dutch inventor. Using the term "tap" should refer to a beer cask on a trestle with a tap fitted to dispense the beer, but has become shorthand for any cask beer, however dispensed. The real sacrilege comes from dispensing beer with a pressurised CO2 system and such beverages should be avoided.
I absolutely loved the last two videos of this💞 I’ve been really wanting to see Europe and this has inspired me even more💞 The absolute beauty. The ducks are so beautiful! The lambs frolicking about 🙏🥰 Thank you Nikki and Jason for taking us on this amazing trip!! If I ever make it there I absolutely want to do exactly what you’ve shared 🥰🥂
This series of you guys going through the cuts has been so refreshing and fun. Now I'm following cruising the cut and others. I had no idea that was there. So neat!!
The UK nearly lost access to its canals in the ‘80s and ‘90’s. Fortunately enough people realized that they were great for recreational boating and the government (and lots of volunteers) worked to rescue most of them. The Llangollen canal was definitely my favourite. So good to go down memory lane with you both. Thank you.😊
If I used a million words it wouldn't be enough to express my gratitude for sharing this previously unknown world with me. So I will just offer my most sincere thanks. ❤❤
We travel from Australia every year to wander the canals of the UK on our narrowboat "Lazy Bee" and watch numerous vlogs, especially Cruising The Cut so to watch your take on "our" canals is truly wonderful. Your obvious joy doing what we do for half the year every year is beautiful. Thank you, and hopefully one of the hire companies, ABC obviously, uses your vlog to encourage more people to give it a try. Harley & Shelley NB Lazy Bee.
Hallo again guys, I' just loving the fact that you're having a fanastic time in GB, what with the relaxing 'speed', being caught up by running ducks and overtaken by lambs it just proves that this beats 'living in the fast lane' any day. Anyone that didn't have a smile on their face watching this video must be wierd.
Kara and Nate (travel vloggers) are there doing the same thing so I was wondering if you would collab with them. (assuming both are actually still there). I've enjoyed this so much seeing you two have such an excited energy about a new boating experience for you. We can feel the joy through the screen about how interesting narrowboating is to you. Indeed it definitely looks like a lot of fun.
I love you guys. You have so much fun "running to catch a train but, except for your walking and I don't know, it's not much of a jump" 😅 you find joy in everything. I love that.
A sincere thank you to you both Nikki and Jason for the pure joy and positivity you share with us. What you do is so appreciated and makes a difference in the lives of others. So much fun to watch and truly feel better after watching episodes like this. Have a great week! Thank you.
Well, that was just as exciting as watching you both on the open seas! I have a friend in Wales and I hope to make it over someday. I think I need the tour boat. Thanks for sharing the journey!
6:45-8:45 and the following sequence is hilarious. It's actually kinda fun to see you just being silly and normal and self conscious. This narrowboating series is terrific!
The Beer Pump. The hand pump is a beer engine however we don't refer to it as such. We simply call it a hand pump as opposed to "on tap" for CO2 pressurised beer delivery. You each had a pint of Guinness which is called a "stout" and is brewed with toasted hops which makes it black, it isn't a craft beer. Craft beers are made predominantly by small "Artisan" breweries. Guinness is an Irish beer. Love your channel.
Oh my gosh. So exciting to watch you two. I love the idea of narrow boating being so in touch with nature. WaleS is absolutely stunning. Loved the two little lambs that were playing. So cute. You guys made it really interesting. Well you always do. Thank you so much for all your hard camera work and editing. You are appreciated.💜🫶🥰 🇺🇸
I've loved watching your small boat adventure and had already gone to the King of the Canals channel last week. My daughter lives in Crowley and I would love to spend a few weeks doing exactly what you are doing. It's nearly as good as being there. Thank you!
So amazing. Actually been a fan of David's for awhile. Often thought about doing the canals in Britan because of him and others that I've watched. Now, you both go and do it. So freaking envious! Looking forward to seeing guys sailing on the new boat! Stay safe.
When I started sailing around Boston harbor & Cape Cod, I always wanted to explore these historic canals but life got in the way. Like UMA said "Never buy a couch" Thx guys you have a remarkable back story of your caring for loved ones and J has this uncanny way of shutting great shots and as always Wynns are a win of whimsical wisdom,,, J have you tried Photoshop CC with Generative Fill
What a fantastic couple of videos on your canal trip. It's super nice to see a piece of England and Wales that you know being eulogised by somebody - brings a tear to the eye. To finish your UK beer education, cask ales - also called real ales - like the Porter you had, are hand drawn and not pressurised under CO2. They are served at "cellar temperature", about 55 F, as the casks are kept in the cellar beneath the pub. The myth of "warm beer" persists because it is not refrigerated like a CO2 pressurised beer or lager served at a much colder temperature. I don't think I ever found hand drawn cask ale anywhere in the US on my trips there.
Afternoon from Devon Loving your journeys around Britain 🇬🇧 Cheers great video as always Thanks. 🏴England Wales 🏴 Scotland 🏴 Britain/ Uk 🇬🇧
Awesome job guys... that looked like a super fun distraction for you guys. Great pics and video as usual. The drone looks like it came in super handy. Love the channel as always.
You’re clearly having much more fun and excitement on the canal boat than your ocean catamarans plus it is affordable and never lonely. No rocks, no tides, no customs, no sickness, no stress. Easy food, beer, views, nature, sleep, peace and privacy when you need it too. Superb video, I really enjoyed watching you enjoy yourselves!
You did it again! What I thought was going to be a boring non Sailing video, captured my heart and breath with a wonderful cinematography and great narrative! Another Wynn!
Hi guys, the channel you are on prior to crossing the Leek Aqueduct (not bridge) is a relining project I worked on in the early 90's, the basin at the other end of the bridge is one of mine too, various relining projects projects between Leek and the Fron were mine too. Also the approach to the Fron iron aqueduct was aproject I worked on as was most of the basin on the other side plus on and off up the feeder canal to LLangollen. Fun fact, whilst installing joints at each end of the Fron I had to return to my office in a blzzard so walked across in the bottom of the trough. Nicely shot video. Mike B
You two are having the time of your life truly on of your most entertaining videos that I have ever seen produced the two of you. Makes me admire the both of you more than ever.
It was lovely to watch enjoying our canals ,we ride our bikes along that stretch fro m the aqueduct to Llangollen every Sunday so glad you enjoyed the journey .can't wait to watch you on the new cat ,and your sailing exploits keep up the great videos ,and thank you for the pleasure you bring to all your viewers .
Great to see you in the UK doing something I want to do much more of... on my bucket list for this time next year! Also love RUclipsrs Ben & Emily if you haven't seen then yet
Ur channel is amazing. I went to Florida last week seen catamarans everywhere couldn't help but wonder if any of them were curiosity. Can't wait to see the new boat
This was truly a nice video riding the canal. When Nikki filmed looking off the bridge, and down ward, I had to look away....it made me nauseous. Thanks David!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this voyage. I think it is too slow and too cold to interest us so it was wonderful to live vicariously through this experience with you. We purchased a leopard right after Covid and have it with the moorings while we save and finish working for a few year. You all have been a major inspiration. We recently went to the bvis on a charter for 10 days and can’t wait for this nomadic lifestyle. Thanks for sharing your life so I could envision our retirement ❤️❤️😘
Oh my gosh you two are super cute on a narrow boat. I’ve watched you for years, competent on your catamaran, on Curiosity, on borrowed boats. It’s an absolute breath of fresh air on this. I live very close to the Kennet and Avon canal. Thankyou for coming to England 🏴 You’re welcome back anytime. 😊
So. The term "gypsy" is most often a slur. Especially by non-Romani people. The proper term is often Roma or Romani. Something to think about maybe in the next video. 😅 Love the bridge action and blind curves! For something that moves so slowly, it's very gripping and I can see the pull of excitement!
Your enthusiasm was contagious and made it enjoyable to follow along. It's also good that you came up with doing this canal thing while you wait for the boat build.
I went over that aqueduct as a kid 40 years ago. The valley was full of clouds and mist the sun was just rising. You couldn't see the bottom. It was a truly magical moment. I have done it three times in a narrowboat and once in a canoe to lean over the edge and look at the view, much to the dismay of my mother. It is a masterpiece of engineering and construction. I'm glad you got to see it. Twice!
I live in Wales, and yes its spectacular! Very hilly compared to England, and more dramatic scenery and weather. Has its own distinct language and culture, and some of the best beaches in the world. The engineering on those canals is insanely difficult for the time they were built. It really was the birth of the industrial revolution, and of course Wales is famous for its coal which kick started a lot of the industry. Great job on the video, that viaduct would have scared the life out of me !
Two of the very best story telling channels on RUclips! So glad you had the chance to meet up. And thanks for taking us along.... so glad I didn't hit my head on that bridge. 😂
We travelled the same canal some twenty years ago. It's like being in the early 18th century and all the technology and architecture still functions. Very relaxing thanks for the memory reminder.
You mentioned David, is that David from cruising the cut? Oh yes it is ! Love his channel too! I first viewed gone with the wynns when you were reviewing the Ithousand trails Idyllwild, California! I was hooked on your journey, and now the canals fantastic couldn’t be better. Thank you and congratulations.
Great video. I'm in NZ but my understanding Guiness and probably you brew is that the pump forces the beer through a plate with a number of small holes in it. This stripes the nitrogen from the beer and makes very light small bubbles. The beer is flat but has a creamy head. Some cans have a nitrogen capsule in them. They burst when you open the can making a dense foam.
This was the best blog since selling Curiosity. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us. I had never heard about this before, but I am sure going to be booking it. ❤
Another awesome hit for the Wynns, is there any trip they can't make entertaining. They should have their own travel show and take alternate trips all over the world. They are simply the best, who wouldn't countries pay these guys to show off their tourist industry. Narrow boats have just seen a 200% spike in interest overnight. THE WYNNS OF THE WORLD ! Should they be allowed to sail their own boat when they are so valuable to the world's beauty spots?
Wow! Your editing is masterful! Lord only knows how long it took to combine and sort all the video into an enjoyable and beautiful journey! Those baby lambs!!!
We absolutely LOVED seeing you two on a narrowboat adventure in Great Britain! We didn't want this narrowboat adventure to end yet... What a FUN way to experience the English countryside and be on the water at the same time. Being on a boat in water AND high up in the air must be so trippingly exhilarating, mind bending, and really memorable! Since seeing you two narrowboat, we have been watching more narrowboating adventure videos and know at some point we will have to "hire" a narrowboat. :-) Thanks for bringing us along!
We first crossed the P******** aqueduct way back in 1981 on our first (of 10) canal cruises. Seeing videos over the side still makes my knees weak every time. Really enjoyed this series.
Your excitement and enthusiasm is charmingly contagious. This reminded me so much of those slow canal boat rides at Disney and other parks, yet it’s real and historic! So this is another thing to add to my Bucket List that I didn’t know I needed to do-so I am glad to experience it vicariously with you as it’s likely never gonna happen for me!
Doh, 🙈 we put in the wrong flag for England 🏴! If we’re ever allowed back in the country, Jason will wear a budgie smuggler with the proper flag on it as retribution. 🩲

Funny, I’m from the US and I’ve never heard it called a beer engine. It’s what’s on tap, and sometimes what’s on the nitrogen tap.
Love this couple,happy boating 🛶
Ah, another lovely Sunday morning with the Wynns!
Lovely evening here. The vids drop at round about beer o'clock... Which is nice.

Love you two,you both have such a great attitude to living your life, right back to your RV days.Greeting from Knott end on sea.😀
You're very lucky to have found a missus sharing the passion!
