  • Had a great time fishing with my family in Cloudcroft New Mexico. Silver Springs is a great little family owned fishing pond that is right off of highway 224. The store supplies all the bait fishing gear you need so you don't have to worry about bringing your own tackle. No fishing license is required since it is on private property. They even clean the fish for you.

That's a awesome video kids smiling parents laughing. Seeing stuff like this is why I do what I do. Seeing that smile when a kid catches a fish. Thanks Kris for the best fishing videos. God bless you and you family.

Hi Kris, another great video. I have an eleven year old grandson that fishes with me. Seeing Alex reminded me of him. At that age it is hard for them to leave the bobber in one place. He is a good caster but jerks the bobber back to shore in a few minutes. I tell him he's going to grow up to be a bass fisherman, lol! Great to see your family fishing together. Thanks for sharing.

Kris, I love this place! It's so family friendly and welcoming! I belonged to a trout club for a year, long ago. It was great fun catching trout, but the club was too uppity and snobbish for me. Your underwater shots were great! Alex is picking up your determination to catch fish! He's really into it, and it paid off with some nice trout! This was a great family bonding experience!

I have always ,loved fishing for Trout below the Dam on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. I have a secret bait I always used when people told me the fish were not biting, I could catch my limit in a matter of minutes.

Wow...good time had by all! Brings back memories of our family going to one of those private ponds here in North Georgia. We'd been camping in the mountains where we'd had no luck fishing. My 4 1/2 daughter was very disappointed. So on the way home we stopped at a private trout pond. It was no catch, no pay....and you paid 1.49 per pound (in the early eighties). I'm figuring most of the trout would be a pound or less. Not too expensive an outing. Well, the first one she hooked rang in at close to six pounds! It didn't get much better, so I had to cut her off at 4 fish......27 bucks and change! Great time and got some priceless photos though!

Hey Kris I seen a long time ago on a Hank Parker fishing show a trick to get kids casting better. Get a short rod with a rubber dummy weight and make a game out of it flipping it into a 5 gal empty bucket . 4-5 ft away then further as they learned after about a week she was better than me sinking it the whole length of our lot that was like 75 or 80 ft . I got one of those mini mouse poles ( zebco) and put on a little pink panther toy and she'd flip it down the hallway of our mobile home and our cat would go crazy grabbing it . She'd holler I got a cat fish !

The fish there are insane! They bite so much but they are smart and hard to hook. I also don't like the price, you can only catch like 2 and you are broke lol. You should try silver lake sometime. Me and my bro really got on the bite there once and caught and released 15 fish each!
