Hi, I'm from west Texas and am wanting to find a place in Texas and/or New Mexico for a vacation in late February that has good river access for catfish and largemouth bass fishing. Can you give me some suggestions?
I'm not familiar with places to fish in Texas but here in NM, you can find catfish and bass in almost every lake. But to answer your question, if I were going for bass and catfish I would fish the Rio Grande River below Caballo Lake at Riverside Campground 👍
Beautiful place to fish and I didn’t know that it got cold enough to snow there. Nice trout y’all caught there. Don’t have any in South Eastern Virginia but maybe one day I’ll get to the mountains and catch some. Great video by the way 👍
@elijahangel2473 I hear that brotha. If you wanna try for Trout and don't mind traveling I would recommend the Gila River. You are not too far from there, and that is some good trout fishing all in that area. Or you can try for some Bass and Catfish in the Rio Grande or in Caballo Lake but that might be kind of slow this time of year.
The caddis hatch at the JDB was always one of my favorite times
Beautiful area with great fishing year round 👍

This video is filmed near Taos on the Rio Grande River. Try to Google the Taos Junction Bridge and John Dunn Bridge. 👍
Also known as Pilar
@@1121cisco yes sir
@@nmangling Pilar is a different area?
@@MAL-co4gd Pilar is the exact location for the Taos Junction Bridge. John Dunn Bridge is just north of Taos 👍

Gorgeous area to fish forsure! Thanks for watching and commenting!
haha thats one of the funniest things ive ever heard! a lot of new mexico is over 6000ft and this area is about 7000ft.
And it’s within a short drive of Taos Ski area
Love it! Is there only trout up there?
No there are a ton of species! Mainly Trout, Bass, and Pike that far up north though
Where is that first bridge at? I’ve fished JDB before.
That first bridge is Taos Junction Bridge near Pilar. It's about a 40 minute drive south from JDB 👍
@@nmangling awesome I’m gonna hit that on my next trip, thanks!
NEW fishing RUclipsr here
@@FishingWithKeidra nice! Welcome to the grind! 😁
@@nmangling thank you so much
Is there any primitive camping spots near there?
There are designated camping spots but I don't think you can primitive camp near the water
Id love to show you some honey holes up north
Just The Rio Grande.
@coyotescactus1448 the one and only 👍
I’m from las cruces nm and looking to take my boys fishing somewhere not too far, any suggestions?
What species do you wanna fish for?
@@nmangling honestly don’t matter, just want my kids to have a fun experience for there first time fishing.

Or if you find yourself north of Albuquerque, the Jemez River is always a great place 👍
