Excellent work Rob, meticulous and neat, this will truly be your car 👍 get this side done and you will be 75% of the way there with the metal, light at the end of the tunnel. It’s fab that you are still taking the time to film for us.
Those rear closing panels had completely disappeared on my car along with the lower corner of the rear wing and a couple of inches of the rear panel. Luckily the rear wheel arch inner and outer were good both sides, it’s a round wheel arch car so more difficult to find panels. I was able to fit repair panels and save the rear wings. The cutting a grinding does seem never ending, but you’re definitely closer to the end than the beginning. Keep at it my friend, it’ll be a super little thing when it’s done. 👍👍👍
I have been busy with a million other things too but you’re right welding all the way along that panel is going to take some time. Hope you have a great holiday.
Interesting to see that the closing panel fills the gap between what would have been the MK1 Sprite boot floor and the "new" body style! Keep up the great work Rob!
Making good progress on the MG Midget. Every time I see one of your videos I realize how fortunate I am with the car I am working on. I have replaced my floor panels. When I cut them out the reinforcing channels still had factory paint on the inside. I will have some work on the rear quarter because it was hit there. I may get the rear apron panel because the tail light area was twisted in to the center a bit.
Hey Rob good work! Once again I realize you and I are currently working on the same elements. I have not been good about recording my movements. I think I will make an effort to do that now so we can compare notes. I ordered the same repair panel for the drivers side quarter panel and was a bit disappointed to realize it is not a fully finished panel around the bottom edge. I wonder if your is the same? On mine, the most lower/rear portion (where it meets the rear valence), it is not finished. I'm going to have to fabricate the final curve and flange and weld it on. The whole quarter panel issue has turned out to be the most challenging. I ended up fabricating the bottom sections of the inner wheel wells. Very time consuming. I'll try to get a video posted in the next day or so. Keep it up!
@JRWorkshop I know what you are talking about with the curved rear section of the quarter. The original panel would have had a flat section that would be spot welded. Not sure how that will come together.
@@robsrestorationgarage Thanks, I need to get similar panels for both of my Midgets and I was not sure what company to go to for the parts. Of course, Moss has sort of become the major supplier in recent years.
@@robsrestorationgarage Agreed, and I am always a little skeptical to order from the "Sears Roebuck catalog" of British car parts. I guess I'm always on the lookout for the few remaining small specialist dealers. Thank you for your guidance.

Thanks for still watching and for the encouraging comments!

I actually enjoy the body work but it is taking longing than I want it to. But it will all be worth it in the end! Right?
Been Busy Bub? You'll be now with that 1/4 panel. lol Glad you went for it, You'll be happier when All said & done. Stay Safe---Keep after It.

Thanks. I will have go look at how the MK1 body style was different there.

Yeah mine was pretty rusty. Would I still have gotten into this project knowing what I know now? Yep. I am stupid that way. Haha
Getting closer with every cut and weld! Can't wait to see how this will look when you're all done. Happy Memorial Day!
Thanks. I hope you have an enjoyable Memorial Day
Rob, you're doing great work!
We shall see.

I am looking forward to your next video
I think I missed it in your video, where did you order the quarter panels from?
I ordered it from Moss Motors. I was happy with the fit and quality
