    If you make a second video with Sanjeev Sanyal, like Neelkanth ask him about the quality of education in India and why Indians don't have the skillset or the work ethics like Chinese and how do we bring that in India.

    • @Immortal_lion99
      @Immortal_lion99 Месяц назад +1

      Its surprising chinese and japanese follow karma theory, meaning be a karmayogi, and dont care about unnecessary results and stuff. Irony is this theory originated in India. Maybe in the garb of secularism and modernity we failed to embrace it.

    • @namansinghnegi8931
      @namansinghnegi8931 Месяц назад +1

      I feel that we attribute too much to the Chinese and Japanese work ethics.
      In my opinion factors like western patronage and cold war played a more important role in development of these countries.
      Also the loss that India suffered in 1962 war, reduced the importance of India in western circles.

    • @letters79587

      @@namansinghnegi8931I agree with you that there is overemphasis on their systems. But your second point about falling out of favour is interesting, but I have my doubts: the West was more concerned with India’s friendliness with the Soviet Union.

    I stopped watching this channel after that charlatan Manu Pillai with his "nuance" came as a guest. Manu is particularly dangerous because he is not a liar but he conveniently ignores or omits events, people and other details that doesn't suit the "neo Marxist/Nehruvian" narrative that he is attempting to peddle.
    This episode has brought me back. Changing school textbooks is an uphill battle but parents should tell their children stories of our revolutionaries and the many other phases of violent resistance that colonizers (both Islamic/Turkic and the British) faced. Sanjeev's (and similar) books should be a must read for all children growing up.

    Usually we assume, either they have the Asian look, or they are muscular. With the specs and the professional look, he clearly looks like an economist, administrator.

    It is quite presumptuous of Mr. Sanyal to talk of building a civilization. Only myopic despots think of crafting a civilization and they invariably fail. Civilizations evolve. At best we can provide an impetus in one direction or the other.
    I don't have an idea of the economic ideas and philosophy of Mr. Sanyal. But as a historian he often provides a unidimensional view. He is not a honest historian. Historians should not be driven by an agenda. On this count, he is as guilty as the Nehruvian historians he often derides.

    • @thearnav67
      @thearnav67 Месяц назад +5

      First, he has a long track-record of speaking and writing about multiple views and dimensions of various historic events, people, and geographies. Admit that you're mad because he doesn't validate the distortions and misrepresentations that you may have learnt or continue to learn in the name of history.
      Second, building a civilization doesn't mean building it physically. It refers to cultivating a society with people who are confident in their identities and can aspire and take risks. Civilizations are built when every generation wants to leave behind a better/stronger society and is willing to take the risks and pains today for the benefit of tomorrow.

    • @srinuisnow
      @srinuisnow Месяц назад +2

      The authenticity of history depends on sources. It is not based on interpretations. Historians with integrity present sources as they are. What Mr. Sanyal does is cherrypick his sources or often cite dubious sources without cautioning the reader.
      Without even knowing me you are presuming things about me. That gives a peek into your mindset. 😊
      There will be no further comments from me if you indulge in your tirades.

    vacant talks. Problems, prejudices and fancies discussed of privileged class. None of what the economic advisor of our gov talks concernsa those earning 20,000 and below, which is the majority in our country, and it is hard to believe that such poverty exists in our civilzation that mr sanyal is so proud of
