Holy shit, the fact that Imu has a power related to Ink makes SO MUCH SENSE. The power that can write and erase history, the power that can paint every horrific figure you can imagine, the power that can eradicate whole Islands by JUST CROSSING IT OUT ON A MAP. In chapter 1060 Imu holds a brush with black paint crossing out Lulusia...
That's just so fitting. Luffy can alter reality like in a cartoon or in a comic book & Imu can alter reality like in a canvas or in a written book.
Yo.... Why the fuck is this comment not being elevated to the forefront of the Convo rn?
Do you think imu is a regular person with this kind of power or something else?
@@MrSponge56 Something else
I guess maybe that's why they had to use the poneglyphs since Imu can pretty much alter messages with that ability 🤔
I really like this theory, also based since we know almost all devil fruits have a lesser and greater version, Imus fruit could be the upgraded version of Kanjuros brush brush fruit, with their "ink" creations being permanent. Could lead to the Goresei being into creations, because they would be permanent or resilient version of Kanjuros creations they could obtain scars, and it would explain their transformations
If the sea hates the devil, it would make sense for the devil to live as high on land and as far away from water as it could.
Taking “history is written by the victors” quite literally with an Ink-Ink fruit
Kanjuro has that fruit already
@@whiteboy2543 true
@@whiteboy2543 nah he had the brush brush fruit, but he’s dead so it might show up again
What if both are the same being? The sea goddess and the sea devil are the same person.
I actually like how Sabo said something along the lines of "I can't believe Hell was sitting at the top of the world" in one of the translations of this chapter. Adds more to this theory.
Exactly! At the top of the world, at the top heaven where god and his angels are supposed to be, Sabo found the devil and his angels. Where is the god and his angels? They've been overthrown and cast down to the earth, forced to live as shadows lest their light become extinguished. These are the D, those who hold the will/spirit of rebellion. The real god, Joyboy was the god who was cast down. The will of D is also the will of god, the true god, Joyboy, the sun god who brought light and prosperity to the world. He was the Dawn, and it's the Dawn that is being waited for.
Also, Luffy hasn't fully awakened as joyboy yet. What we've seen against Kaido is just the tip of the iceberg.
Remind me of the Crimson King was described by the protagonist as Hell itself too...
King of Hell vs Imu? ZKI 😂
"I'm Roger! This meeting must be fate, Rayleigh! What do you say to turning the world upside down with me?!!"
@@JosephRooks exactly! Hell has taken the place of heaven, and heaven casted down to hell. Imu was the one who first turned the world upside down. Roger, and the will of D is to turn the world upside down, which would be turning the world right side up. The way it was before and when Joyboy ruled. Roger wanted to set things right.
Btw. Oda mentioned in a comment that it was tough drawing gear 5 cartoonish because in Tom and Jerry there are 2 to this dynamic. So Oda needs to invent a second cartoonish character and there would not be a better one than a cartoon devil
Or Bonney
Imu wasn't sure if Lili had truly betrayed them or if it was just a blunder... Until they ask Cobra about her full name. Imu didn't know that Lili was a D, that's why they got so angry upon hearing the full name. Now they know Lili did it on purpose back then.
exactly. Its like seeing Roronoa Zoro or Roronoa Zoro of the Straw Hat Pirates
Im pretty sure he knew
I think imu knew and appeared because cobra revealed he knew too much being that a letter from someone who was basically erased from history is in his possession. Lili being a D member is probably why lili was erased.
Think imu suspected it but wasnt sure
@@keenangant982 Imu must have known because it gives a reason why he would hunt every D member ever since.
I think Imu's reaction to Lili's name is not because it discovered that she was part of the D clan, but because that was a declaration that Lili had chosen to stand with the D/Dawn in the end, to be a D back then might be by choice than by blood.
This aligns with the flashback to Sabo asking about and being offered a D.
Yeah that makes sense. If D. was an initial people took back then as a type of political statement it would actually explain why so many people across different races and from different parts of the world would have it.
@@02657 Oda/the Gorosei just alluded to this when they mention "he has a checkered life" (always previously mentioned in conjunction with D's) and reference him being surrounded by them
I think something worth mentioning is that Luffy's power is sort like a blank sheet of paper. From an artists perspective, the pure white of a fresh canvas represents infinite possibilities, and the only limit is your imagination. Gear 5 is the power of limitless potential, of a new beginning, of freedom.
And what about an image already drawn? They say that art is never finished, only abandoned, but you cannot keep drawing on the same sheet of paper forever. The more you draw, the more cramped and cluttered the image becomes until it loses all its value. Once the pen makes its stroke and the ink is left to dry, the pitch blackness is there to stay. Imu is much the same. For 800 years he's ruled the same world with the same iron fist and the same suffocating dogmas. Imu intends to keep the world in a stasis where his rule is perpetual, but by what authority does one artist silence the rest and proclaim that no more art is to be made? And even more than that, by what means? No matter how firm your grasp, no matter how nighmarish your power, you will never break man's will to dream. You can never take away imagination.
Imu's powers are finality, control, and cold reality. Luffy's powers are imagination, freedom, hope and a new beginning. No matter how tightly Imu clings to his present, Joyboy, the freest man on the sea, will one day wrest the world from his hands and turn the page to the future.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if in the future the One Piece itself will be hidden in translation and we need this legend to help us discover it!
😂
Of course the One Piece is a pun. We're just not cleaver enough to figure it out
LOL this man "Library of Ohara" said Lili is Imu. He got good theories but he clearly is not the best.
Yup
@@DexZethwho is the Best in your opinion?
"The devil's finest trick is to persuade you that he does not exist."

After this I imagine Imu's power is something like an Ink Ink fruit - his ability allows him to control ink and interfere with the very substance the _manga_ is drawn with. That would be a perfect match for Luffy and his Toon Force :D
lol that would be hilarious and whats even more hilarious is that i totally see Oda doing some shit like this
Meta, that's perfect
I 100% agree with you. Like I mentioned in my comment, imu's moves are coming from the black borders of the manga. All 3 times he used them this time. Also, he did the same when erased Lulusia from the map. Probably did the same with God Valley.
If it weren’t oda we were talking about this would be too ridiculous to consider. Since it’s oda then perhaps!
@@PaulThePandaren Gege would do something like this too, but I see your point
Lili used the Paw Paw fruit to send the Poneglyphs around the world like Kuma did with the Strawhats. The D are ancestors of Lili and Kuma is sworn to protect them while he carries around a Bible with Lili on the cover. That's why he tried to get back to mariejoa to save Vivi.
Oi you're into something here! & maybe you're right!
@@zf8496 Kuma had no idea Vivi hitched a ride on Wappol's back. If he's sworn to protect Vivi that could be the reason he was trying so desperately to get back to Mariejoa after being rescued by Sabo or Sad Boy. Sa D. Bo = Sad Boy.

@@wolfofsummerbreeze now this is a great observation.
Maybe that is the reason why the D. are the enemies of Imu. If Imu can project peoples nightmares(as opposite to Luffy that can project his own dreams), the D. clan that doesn't fear death and instead smiles at it could be the weakness of Imu's powers. So, if everyone is given the D. and become immune to fear of Imu, it could make Imu weaker and weaker, until it no longer is a threat
Basically How to (D Clan) Horrifying the Horror (IMU) Trope...... If the Dark Lord Powers Based on everyone's fears, then be fearless brave to it...
maybe imu's fruit is the polar opposite of the nika fruit, as in the nika fruit represents good dreams, while imu's could have the powers of nightmares, basicly the same power, but while the nika fruits powers makes things goofy and silly, the nightmare fruit makes distorted and dark versions of real things, basicly they both have the same fruit, but with different tones
Cool. Dreams vs nightmares.
I'd like to note that Luffy doesn't have the "Human Human fruit: Model Sun God" but it has both the title and name

The lore and reveals in this chapter were too rich! I had to pause throughout the chapter just to process if it was real
Same. One Piece has completely changed how it's told in the last year. We learn so much so fast now but I'm typical oda fashion revealing something just raises more questions. I freaking love it!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Same here pimpin
I am stuck wondering why we had to take a whole ass chapter (which is not only devoid of strawhats or Luffy but for the 5 or 6 time IN A ROW) to LITERALLY tell us JACK-SHIT that was unknown aside from a FUCKING RET-CONNED name of a character who is a literal strawhat basically and has been in the story, practically idle, and borderline inconsequential, who we met AT THE SAME TIME WE MET THE FUCKING GRAND LINE. Now let's turn to the matters of interacting with imu with dialogue and all, and still no design, but wait it gets worse, we see the gorosei do literally the first interesting and non-chair-related thing in the story 1000 chapters in, ANDDDDD, WE GET MORE SILHOUETTES. all of this weird and honestly disappointing shit, to set up cobra telling sabo to tell Luffy about some shit that he literally doesn't know shit bout yet himself nor does he or would he care if he did.
You guys aren't honestly going to call this chapter a LORE DUMP are you? The only thing dumped on us was literally a single capitol letter D. And 5-6 of probably the worst design silhouettes ever and they were for the literal 5-6 most consequential and key characters in the story?
@@davy-jonesdevil-fruit7606 why are you even here
This would be fucking awesome and perfect way to give Luffy a final battle that truly tests capabilities of his DF and thus, imagination. Both have limitless potential, but one of them has had centuries to come up with new attacks and counters for whatever the new Joyboy could come up with. And that also offers great symbolic ending for the battle: Imu, despite his infinite potential is stuck in the past, thinking he's fighting against the previous Joyboy. He's spent so much time alone that his imagination has become dull and even though he has insane variety of attacks and some truly devastating combos, it's nothing compared to sheer insanity Luffy comes up with. The theme of this story has always been about passing the torch and starting the new age and Luffy in most concrete representation possible destroys the old and obsolete way of thinking that has become anchor holding back progress.
And if you wanna turn up the heat even more, make Imu the fake final boss. In comes Blackbeard, finally taking his third fruit. He's a dreamer like Luffy and in his hands the same DF is now ten times more dangerous. The real final battle begins...
I like this one
bro you lowkey oda in disguise
I don't like that but sounds interesting. LOL But Imu-Sama is the True Final Boss Villain to me though. Blackbeard is just the Plot-Driving Villain Heavy Character Type. Imu-Sama is the True Ultimate Overarching Big Bad of the whole One Piece Series. Big Bad is always the True Ultimate Last Boss Villain. World Government always have been the Main Antagonists Enemies Villains Forces throughout the series and have includes involved in almost Everything of the Story Lore, Not Blackbeard Pirates that trying to copy them. Deal with it.
The irony of that is that Teach, the man who talks about the dreams of pirates, is said to not be able to sleep. (Dream)
this
You're missing something important... You did not notice that the "moves" that Imu uses all came from "the manga", the black borders of it. It could be simply that he have the power to "write/rewrite" everything. Like when he literally "erased" Lulusia which you also did not mention here. But then again, great video as always!
I didn’t notice tell I took a second glance. Damn.

Imu actually turns out to just be a 30 year plot of getting back at his early editors making him change things he didn't want LMAO
I've actually considered the possibility that Imu is a child. When we first saw him/her, the servent who was kneeling behind him/her still reached up to his/her head while Imu was standing up. Meaning Imu is not very tall, and could actually be a child.
i highly believe is not that Imu is small is, that for the first time Luffy will fight someone that is just the same size as him. Oda draws huge characters so often that we forget Imu is around the same size as Luffy

I like that Oda is from the Land of the Rising Sun and makes his fictional ancient kingdom the Kingdom of the Dawn which is essentially a synonym for his home county’s more poetic name.

To me, Oden dying with a smile was enough to convince me that all ancient weapons and their relatives are Ds, also that you can be a D. without knowing it, and probably that you can become a D. solely on the basis of your allegiance to the cause.
Thanks for clearing out so much information that got lost in translation !
Also, I recently watched the Reverie video from the Mont Corvo twins, massive respect to you for taking part in an event from the french-speaking community, your presence was a big part of my enjoyment of the video !
To be honest, it would make so much sense for the fruit to be correlated with cartoons like Nika.
I could see it being the Ink Ink Fruit (a logia fruit) that can affect the manga itself. This theory already has some merit to it considering what you were mentioning Ohara, along with the fact that Imu was able to obstruct our view of dialogue between Cobra and Sabo. The theory would imply that Imu intentionally did this, rather than it being something done by Oda himself. This theory also may have merit from what you were mentioning about the power "dripping" ink/some liquid substance when attacking Cobra, along with the idea that this fruit contrasts the Nika fruit so well.
Regardless of the theory, one piece has been so wild recently, it's been surreal.
If Imu is some ordinary dude with some random fruit powers I''ll be totally dissapointed. This is boring , plain and dull
OMG Oda literally created a Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror Meta Entity.......

I think everyone is wrong about Saturn. While it looks like horns. It also looks like the front of a Mantaray. Couple this with the arrow or stinger coming from Cobra’s left and it makes sense. It is also the most detailed, except for maybe the bird, because we will see his transformation the soonest in egghead. Also him having killed Cobra could come up in egghead enraging Luffy and them fighting. This would also be a fish fruit, the second we have seen. I think all 5 of their fruits will be aquatic.
I like your speculation, they could be all sea creatures since Imu could be the mother of the sea
I freaking love how you use the music here. It's like watching an episode! Great editing m8 keep it up
This video literally kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! You my friend, have a gift for pointing out things many of us (me included) may not have 'seen', or fully understood, or took time to put 2 and 2 together...DAMN GOOD VIDEO! You just earned a new sub, and I wish I had known about you previously! 😁
I want to add the beauty and joy of Oda getting the "freedom" to draw whatever he wishes, whatever his imagination wants with his love/hopes/dreams and fears/insecurities/nightmares, reflected in Luffy's and (maybe) Imu's powers. When Joyboy appeared I felt very happy for him
I really like the idea that the D is just a way for the members of the clan to find themselves across time.
In a way, it's not so different from the X mark the Straw Hats used during Alabasta.
Perhaps the ancient members of the D clan promised to meet each other again, just not as their current self
Thanks for the great video 🙏
Your content is always amazing ❤
Joygirl had a theory that maybe those silhouettes are not the 5 elders but their weapons. Because all of them had a gun except the sword guy and his sword seemed to have disappeared, all though that could have been because of the silhouette. But we have yet to see objects with devil fruits become relevant despite being introduced way back in Alabasta
Actually enies lobby was the last time but yeah I'd like that alot more then them all just being zoan users. It would be another round of want all over again, and also it would mean fighting a gorosei member is like fight 2 at the same time, like nami and Zeus
I think they might be zoan users cause if you look at the frogish one on top (16:02 in the video) it looks like his right hand is crushing the banister
Love the theory! Interesting points and great drawing between parallels as always. I think that Imu possibly represents the cartoonish devil as you said and it uses the powers of nightmares to change reality but Luffy having the powers of Ultimate Freedom can withstand their warping capabilities. According to various folklores, the devil only comes out at night and this would tie in to the coming of the Dawn and Luffy now bearing the title of the Sun God Nika. He along with the other Clan of D members will bring about the dawn to defeat the Devils that pull the strings of the World Government. Despite the horrors that The Devil ( Imu) inflict upon the world, Luffy’s Laughter will spread far and wide. His laughter be heard by all and people will have hope as they watch him liberate them from the darkness.
Very Poetic. Yup.
I was waiting for your upload!!!
Wonderful theory-crafting and analysis. I'm really happy you used that panel of gear 5 its by far my favorite from the fight haha
Based on the way Imu explains the D name, it technically sounds like a label ascribed on part of Imu for those who were against them. For Imu to be unaware (suspicious at best) that Lili was a D says it is not just a attribution status/name but something that is more specific/innate, that they just happened to co-opt into their current specific usage. Yeah Ace says Sabo can have a D if you really want, but you have to caution yourself away from just saying it’s something that can be purely ascribed.
1. Ace is a child without any meaningful parental connection to have value for the meaning of his name beyond Portgas which he values his mother, he had no care for the Gol name, let alone Roger. Using this child as a valid example is weak at best.
2. The celestials are also just working off the same propaganda that Imu created as I doubt they as a group know anything more about the past, with only as far as we’re aware Imu, the gorosei, the ohara scholars, and the Roger pirates (WB through Roger) are truly aware of.
I am aware of the overall theming that Oda wants people to see beyond blood, names, and labels when it comes to family, but at least in the current chapter as it is presented the D label still seems to work in a traditional lineage fashion. If anything I would want acknowledgment from Law on Lami’s status as a D, to confirm whether or not it has specific usage or broad lineage application (not specific people of a blood family). I am also very curious as to why Water is a secret name along side D…
It's interesting to seehow Arthur is so focused on the sea devil, ever since Film Red aired. Him mentioning the sea devil like every 2nd video makes me actually interested in the final revalation of Oda, I personally never watched too deep into it.
Love your vids as always ♥️
I was waiting for this review thanks a lot now understand better what happened
I kinda thought that the D is representative of change itself. It can be both the Dawn and the Dusk, the meaning changing depending on who holds it. Luffy carries a D that means Dawn, while Teech carries a D that means Dusk
Thinking about the option that Lili was the founder of Amazon lily, that would make her its first queen, and by extension she would also have suffered from the disease that attacked them all, love.
She may be also Toki's mother, that to save her from being a slave sent running into the future. We know that the island is unreachable, unless you're the marine or wg, and Boa with the sisters were slaves as kids, kinda like a confinement camp for the "gods".
I always love watching your explanation~~~
I think that the Sa D. Bo part is something explaining that becoming a "sworn brother" to a D, make you an actual D. as well.
The direction that this devil's tail comes at Sabo is from the side. The left side, if I am imagining correctly. With Imu sitting in front of Sabo, if this tail was Imu it would have had to sneak around the throne to get to Sabo. This isn't unrealistic, it is just a minor detail that is difficult to get across in manga panels.
Love this content
Wow this video was on point! I love the parallel to Luffy's fruit
Thank you for your dedication to enable us to grasp far more than any translation ❤
Imu's powers make me think of Gecko moria and his fruit. Could Imu have a stronger varient of this fruit. Like how there are multiple different fire fruits. This could also tie into why Blackbeard wants to found a kingdom and go to where Imu and gorosei are. Blackbeard has moria and hasent killed him for the fruit but wont let him go as if he is a fall back option

I think that the devil fruits house the souls of the D clan/ people of the ancient kingdom. The entire kingdom had abilities and the 20 kingdoms learn how to steal there powers like Blackbeard. That's why Imu referred to them as empty shells.
This is some QUALITY OP THEORY. Outstanding content!
This video was epic!!!!
I noticed something interesting with the translation of Sabos attack. You mentioned that Sabos attack was a reference to a checkmate in chess were the king is surrounded by his own pieces. The english term for that would be a "smothered mate". This is the way some scans I read translated it. However the official release instead translates his attack as "rook check" , which is just a move where you check the enemy king with your rook., nothing special. I'm curious why the official translation decided to change the chess move.
In Japanese the word nightmare is Aku-mu and if you translate the kanji means evil dream
I think somehow IMU will be related to nightmares the opposite of dreams
It ties very well with the themes of one piece
Aku means I in Indonesian
Therefore Imu

The context is crazy.

Mr. Eloquence (Spy Family reference as this guy reminds me of that old professor in that show) a Thunder Bird (until stated otherwise I will die upon the hill that one of the Gorosei have that DF).
Samurai Gandi having an Ogre/Oni/Demon/Devil/Orc/Goblin/Etc. Devil fruit also a interesting pair of ideas once you get next weeks info.
I cannot wait for your next chapter translation video.
My thoughts & opinions of the chapter:
1. After learning that Vivi’s ties to the D initial is one of the main reasons why her ancestor didn't become a Celestial Dragon & there's Poneglyph in Alabasta's royal castle, wouldn't this mean the other places Luffy visited (such as Sky Island, Fishman Island, Zou, Wano, and probably Amazon Lily) respectively had D carriers regardless of who they are, or if they still exist today?
2. After seeing the silhouettes of the form Imu & the Elders recently took on, I am getting the feeling that Luffy will most likely be screwed unless he takes Saturn very seriously!
You copy paste your comment on every RUclips one piece theorist
I don't think the D stands for dawn because it wouldn't make sense for characters like Blackbeard and Xebec to have the D initial since they are not portrayed as characters that will bring about the Dawn. I think it makes more sense for the D initial to mean Dreams, the clan of Dreams or Dreamers. This would also make sense as to why the D clan is the natural enemy of God's, considering Imu's abilities look something like nightmare abilities, then the natural enemy of Nightmares would be Dreams. Also Blackbeards speech to Luffy was about a man's dream never dies etc so he has been portrayed as a character that has Dreams... anyways would love to hear what you guys think about this 😊
Edit: also there is emphasis that every member that joins Luffy's crew has a dream, and Luffy being the leader of that crew and the only member on the crew to have a D initial, would be the person to lead them to their Dreams.
This theory is old and boring. 😊
@@germanrud9904 Thanks, would love to hear your theory

You are absolutely right and you laid it out perfectly for us. Great video

ANOTHER BANGER!!!
The Cartoon Devil is what I first thought of when I saw the tail-arrow attack. Still think the Cartoon-thing is out of place in this manga, but oh, well. Everything makes sense to me except 1.
Why did Kobra face them? I mean if anything, the ✉️ should have warned him not to. Onless you tell me he had a failproof way to transfer whatever he learned outside before he died, then he pretty much wasted Queen Lilly's afford to hide this shit.
I have a theory that the bald Gorosei that carries a sword with him, actually has the Hito Hito no mi model: Susanoo no Mikoto, The shinto god of Sea, Storms, Fields, the harvest, Marriage and Love this could fit well because, if he has the God of the Sea powers this would symbolise how much power the Gorosei have over the seas, that they are basically gods, also The bald Gorosei also appears to be most Japanese looking (maybe he might be from Wano), so him having a Shinto Kami DF could work well with his appearance, similar to how Sengoku kinda looks like Buddha even in Human form, also another piece of foreshadowing for this is his sword he keeps on him, and the god Susanoo no Mikoto was also known for being a swordsman, so this could very well likely be his Awakened transformation into Susanoo no mikoto
and he will fight zoro+yoru, after zoro achieves his dream so they can go and fight the WG for luffys dream. The bald gorosei will give a fight to behold, cant wait. Hope the theory that mihawk is a sword spirit can be true, it would put the stakes up there alongside the emotional weight on us readers
love the use of hollow knights music when talking about the void century and imu calling D members 'hollow shells'
Thanks You, Artur. I thought I was the only one seeing IM transformation like Pac Man, and even Alien like.
I think that the Sabo flashback hints that Nefertari Lily wasn't a "D." member originally, but when she switched side, opposing Imu and the celestial dragons, she self proclaimed a D - and Imu never confirmed that until Cobra revelation about her signature.
Could the D actually mean a SMILE as in referring to being nakama of Joyboy/Nika, and maybe the idea of putting a smile in everyone’s face is what Oda meant by putting a D in Sabo‘s name. Idk but any time I see the black silhouettes with a smile I think of D
very interesting, I do think of D as well when I see a black smilling silhouettes

Ya me parecía que estabas muy callado capo. Videaso como siempre. Un beso.
How do you find the chapters in Japanese? I really want to keep reading One Pieces in Japanese but I can't find them
I like how people speculate and dive deep until Oda just simply crush them and the next video they completely change their ideas like nothing happened, and get crushed AGAIN but if just 1 small detail of their theory came to be truth they act like SEE! exactly as I prediiiiicted
anime youtubers in a nutshell
My theory is "Samurai Gandhi" is "Mars", flipping the idea of Gandhi being all about non-violence around since Mars is the God of War. He's also the one constantly carrying a weapon so that fits. And if he is Mars, looking at his silhouette, that head shape gives me the idea he has the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Martian
this is a really good theory good dam bro
If the gorosei are the planets and joy boy is the sun then Imu calling himself Muu, or nothing, would be space itself.
I think imu is like Luffy he/she is the devil but can shape him/herself how they want to be possibly
Easily one of my favorite chapters is years. The hardest thing to figure out right now is how all of these incredibly powerful forces will end up meeting.
Jay Garcia also doesn't pull a gun, he seems to press a button on his large wooden staff. We don't know what he does with it but it's not a gun
lily maybe had paw paw fruit to send the poneglyphs around the world??
Mu in Muicihro means infinity, which we all learned by reading Demon Slayer!
Mu of mugen

That’s a good one I like this theory
The way I see it is as follows. The Ds were the enemy of the 20 before Lily's blunder. Lily was initially aligned with the other 19 kings, but someone of the D clan saw she's humane and convinced her of the error of their ways. So she decided to join the D clan, but hide the D initial from the 19 so they would keep on trusting her while she could hinder their plans.
I find it less certain, but also probable that Lily ate the paw paw fruit, sent the letter before the blunder, tried to make the blunder seem like a no-glasses-tashigi style accident, and then the childish Imu threw a fit and killed her immediately, before getting the info from her if she might have any connections to the Ds. (just headcannon from now on) Hence Imu lived in spiteful suspicion for the last 800 years, and the sole reason for allowing Cobra to witness his existence was to clear this up. This in turn might make his inner anger resurface and the man hunt for the Ds begins. Besides the power ups (3rd fruit blackbeard, holy knights, awakened ancient Zoan Gorosei, the devil Imu), I feel that's how Oda could raise the stakes for our crew plotwise as well. Being in a hurry to find the One Piece while being hunted seems exciting, though I'm not sure what exactly it would take for Luffy to actually run instead of taking the persuers head on.
Gol. D Roger turned to Gold Roger. So if Vivi is a D, could she also be called Vivid? Opposite of Imu's darkness.
The Navy put his name as Gold Roger so people wouldn’t know he was part of the D clan it’s not that deep man 💀
If the imu and gorosei are doing smth then we truly are in the final saga
This already happened, but there is some gorosei activity finally with saint jay garcia saturn heading to egghead
Cant wait for dawn and dusk to make a video on this chapter. I think youre onto something with imu having ink based powers. Would love that.
I remember the game in PS1 called heart of Darkness with this shadowy figure, it might be possible since in the game, the enemies are like shadowy dark figures but it has toon tone with it.
Great video as always.
The only thing I disagree with is the tail that stabbed Cobra and Sabo. I think that tail belongs to the second Gorosei from the left.
He's nearby for the attack coming from behind Cobra's left and there's a panel before Sabo is attacked again with the blob looking Gorosei and the tail attacking.
The way it's framed and positioned leads me to think of the scene this way but I don't think it takes away much from the Imu thought.
Given Imu's likely immense power it's probable they could still attack at that distance but this other Gorosei seems more likely to me.
Why would the gorosei attack someone that Imu is talking to? Doesn't make sense imo, they'd wait to be ordered.
@@IlluviumGaming Imu began attacking or at least began to shift to Zoan form. Cobra just admitted that he is a D after acknowledging that they would kill him what he was about to say. They were past the point of no return already. I think Them or Imu attacking there is practically the same to them
@Shimotsuki Kajiya Imagine being one of the gorosei completely cucked to Imu, and Imu is having a chat with someone - something probably incredibly uncommon. I can't imagine risking killing the person if Imu still has questions. Like, is it possible? Sure. But I think Imu doing it is far more likely regardless of how the panel appears.
@@IlluviumGaming Sure. I'm with you on that front. It does seem pretty odd given their interactions and all.
From the positions, distance and flow of the panels I'm still firmly in this camp though.
It could go either way so I guess we'll see what happens. I'll keep an eye out for evidence on either side.
@@shimotsukikajiya Fair enough, I respect that
Hear me out: Imu has the Ink ink fruit and Luffy having the Rubber rubber fruit therefor makes him the eraser to Imu’s ink. I don’t know how it would make sense with Luffy actually being the Sun God now but maybe the foundation of Imu’s mythical fruit is Ink. Oda could do so many cartoonish and wild things with these two fruits clashing on page. I came up with this idea when you pointed out the arrow/devil tail was dripping.
I love you bro
Amazing
More and more it seems like Imu could be Lili after she ate a Devil Fruit (more than likely was forced which is the opposite of Luffy eating one on accident) and the Devil Fruit took over the body. Instead of Lili taking control, the Devil Fruit itself took over and renamed itself Imu.
Also, the Mu part in some was mentioned to also mean Void. What if the Void Century is what happened after Imu/Mu took control of Lili? The Mu Century...the reign of Imu begins by wiping out any and all traces of the history prior.
No it doesn't? Imu and Lili were 2 distinct people back then, Cobra essentially confirmed it. Please move on to a different theory. Lili = Imu is boring
@@TuskyBaby No. Cobra states he had heard of the name Imu before, and that there was a relation to that name and the 20 Kingdoms, but it was cut off by Imu/Mu before anything further was stated. As well as Imu stated that they would not elaborate on what Cobra was talking about there.
Imu can still be an entity that could take over people, or was a Demon trapped inside a Devil Fruit/source of the Devil Fruits/Devil incarnate and took over Lili.
I was discussing this with a friend, and we reached the conclusion that it would be thematically appropiate for Im to be a traitor to the D clan. Considering how much relevance "Inherited will" has on the series, maybe Im was born as a member to the D clan, but decided to seek a different sort of freedom: one that allowed it to "break free" from the Will of D.
Sabo is the luckiest man alive in one piece. He escaped certain death three times or more, first during his childhood, second mariejois, third lulusia.
At 15:09 .. that panel of Imu rushing towards Sabo reminds me of Luffy in Gear 5 vs Lucci, where his huge head was trying to eat Lucci.
More clickbait from Artur lmao
How??
