In all fairness, that is basically how they were raised. The Pharaoh was essentially a deity in the flesh. Especially if he lived to like 50. Since they were inbred and most didn’t. But they raised the next one in line to believe they were the reason Egypt either survived or didn’t. If he didn’t keep the gods happy, it was his fault that Egypt went to hell, basically. He was the ultimate power over life and death. “I am the morning and the evening star” is probably not something that would’ve been said, but the people of Egypt did see their pharaoh as the reason for everything.
crazy how this scene made the later half of the movie so heartbreaking because everything else aside, Ramses DO see Moses as his true brother even after knowing his origin and all, which makes the 10 disasters scene truly terrifying because Moses felt the same way towards Ramses and had to do all those terrible things, to his "former people", to his brother, in order to let his people go, idk if it's intentional or not but god damn it's beautifully sad
Notice when hotep and huy reminded him that there is an outstanding desth sentence on Moses rameses looks visably annoyed. Rameses was probably very upset his father declare the death sentence for Moses if he was ever found. Now that he is pharaoh he can finally pardon him.
Because Moses didn't want this. He didn't seek it out. God sought him out. He was the instrument of his wonders. He knew the once prince of Egypt would be destined to lead his true people out of suffrage and into freedom. Moses had to put his feelings aside, like many of God's prophets had done before and would do after. And Moses, despite not being raised a Hebrew, knew it was what the Hebrews needed.
It's also the bitter truth people need to accept because eventually if a loved one is standing in the way of what is right then you have to let them go and do what you must for your future, especially if they refuse to change for better.

There is a greater theme to the snakes fighting and eating each other than most people realize. It’s not just symbolic of smoke and mirrors vs actual miracles, but also the very literal power imbalance between God and the gods. One doesn’t need to show himself to others to be powerful, only speak and weave his wonders through one person. The gods on the other hand constantly make themselves out to be far more powerful and scary than they actually are, and they enact their will through multiple people to give themselves the semblance of control. Moses snake eating the two snakes represents God eventually destroying their religion, and his enduring through the ages, while theirs disappears.

God: They do know this is a king cobra. A snake that exclusively eats other snakes. I wonder if their "gods" ever teach them something called "karma".
Imagine your god bestows a heavenly boon on you in an effort to demonstrate to others the legitimacy of your religion, only for somebody who sees it to go "damn that's crazy" and start teleporting. Like yeah no wonder Yahweh hit them with the plagues after this, I'd be scared of taking half-measures too after a blowout like this.
Its funny how religion nowadays has no real proof with most "miracles" being explainable in some way but then you have stories like this where someone without any clear tricks makes a stick perfectly stand upright and turn into a snake but its deemed fake by the onlookers. If shit like that happened IRL I wouldnt deny the existant of a hihger power like that XD. Cant realy explain away a stick becoming a snake after all.

Whatever do you mean, sir?
so cool man ans who cares on it?
Its funny how religion nowadays has no real proof with most "miracles" being explainable in some way but then you have stories like this where someone without any clear tricks makes a stick perfectly stand upright and turn into a snake but its deemed fake by the onlookers.
If shit like that happened IRL I wouldnt deny the existant of a hihger power like that XD.
Cant realy explain away a stick becoming a snake after all.
Ramses is great than moses in thes world these is not greater brother' like this
